Thoughts and prayers, buddy. I remember building a work table with my father when I was 10yo. It was built out of scrap 2x4s and the top was OSB. Sadly, we too made the mistake of using sub-par fasteners, specifically drywall screws. I’ve hung my head in shame for 35 years as that table has travelled through a hundred job sites, always remaining square and true at each joint. My father cried bitterly when he gave me that table 6 months ago, for now I must bear our burden. Every Phillips head of every screw mocks me as that table sits as flat as granite the same as it has for decades. Thank you for making a safe space where we can all unburden ourselves for our informed, reasonable decisions against all those who would spend their time criticizing instead of DOING.
The only thing that would have made this better is if at the end it zoomed out and you were sitting on the edge of the table in question. That would have been the cherry on top, for sure.

I saw it and thought that was NOT a bad thing and you would only do it if you had tested it and was happy... Personally I did NOT see any issues with a interchangeable base for different tops. After this video, maybe have a limit on the size of tops.... I still stand by my original thoughts that there is NOTHING WRONG with a good stud into the middle of solid wood... New Zealand has wood so hard you cant drill it without water to cool the drill bit... I have killed drill bits with our extra hard timber and you way with a single stud would work fine in our timber... Everyone that has given negative comment, please stop and be kind as with the right timber this would be fine....
