Its insane. A game from 2005 where you can land in a hangar and hop out of your spaceship directly. Some many games today cant do that, you always have loading screens and cutscenes.
Galactic conquest 0. Supplies bonus 1. Fly empty gunship to enemy hangar 2. Run by the autoturret mainframe and plant a bomb on the way to shield generator 3. Bomb shield generator, fight like Hell 4. Run by autoturret mainframe on the way out and plant second bomb- it's destroyed 5. Steal enemy bomber 6. Destroy frigate- they are now defenseless without shields, frigates, or turrets 7. Destroy critical systems in no particular order 8. Dogfight if you got time 9. "We won, yeeha!"
I bomb the frigates before entering the ship. Other than that though, that is exactly what I do. I love trying to speedrun conquering the whole galaxy in a few hours.
Always hated how they would just spawn an AI ship on your ass if you were doing too well. Never failed, as soon as I get a couple good kills here comes the best pilot in existence to slaughter me.
@@marcuscain1377I HATE those things. HATE them. I hope whoever came up with the idea of auto turrets for BF2 has to listen to Justin Bieber songs 24/7 for the rest of his life.
I'd always try to get a bunch of clones to get in LAAT to launch a big assault on the ship. I remember playing with my brother once and we attacked with two LAATs lol
I usually follow these exact steps with two differences 1. Use a marine instead of the pilot 2. Attack shields last, usually they’re down by the time you’re done in with the engines and life support and you have more time to deal with other critical systems/dogfighting
Time bombs deal massive damage. Plus, if you set it up correctly, you can usually set multiple bombs on any particular objective. Shields? 4 bombs. Drop it towards the exit door from both bridges. Auto turrets? 2 bombs. Opposite sides. Life support? 3 bombs. Opposite ends. And you can take out that turret with a bomb instead of wasting time shooting it. Engines? 3 bombs. Far end, middle, near end. After you’re done inside, you leave in their bomber and get the pilot’s bonus.
@@wackyweyland8857 theres ups and downs. Pilot gets hp regen while in a ship, and on the slower boarding craft it can really make a life or death difference when rushing over to an enemy hangar. The marine doesnt get ship hp regen but has a much easier time than the pilot once inside the ship by virtue of having a primary weapon. IMO i think the pilot is better for boarding because time bombs are incredibly damaging to systems. In my experience, using the rocket launcher and grenades to blow up internal systems took around the same time as a pilot, because the marine's weapons do less damage than time bombs, even though they have more ammo. At the end of the day, i think its down to preference but I always had more luck with the pilot because its easier to survive getting onto the ship. Sure the pistol isnt ideal but if you pace your shots you can kill stuff pretty fast. Once you get good with it you can actually mow down enemies indoors quite well...
I can’t wait to play space battles again when the battlefront collection comes out in 2 weeks. This is the best Star Wars game ever in my opinion and I’m literally so hyped to play it again been waiting forever for it to come on to PlayStation 4/5 but I didn’t want to go out and buy a PS2. You do the exact same strategy that I always do every time I do space battles 😂
good to know people still enjoy the good battlefront not the EA garbage sad thing is my ORIGINAL disc copy a fucking CD that i got WAAY back in 2006 recently stopped working, over a decade of service and the disc finally gave out and became unreadable may god rest that discs soul
Still, to this day, I can’t comprehend why Dice would not just add these kinds of space battles that people were asking for, FOR YEARS. Also more “Hunt” style modes with the Ewoks and scout troopers. I miss playing as a geonosian vs the clones or a wampa vs the rebels.
I loved this as a kid. My strategy was to fly in with whatever vehicle I could get to first that wasn't a transport because they're too slow and if you didn't die it didn't matter. Then I'd use the 3rd of my initial bombs on the shield generator to minimize the amount of time i was just squatting next to that thing. Also, on the engines, its long enough that you can put a bomb on the left, run to the right while that's ticking down, then go back to the left once the first blew up. I think you could kinda do it on the life support, but you had to throw it at an angle and the timer was too short to make it around the chairs and stuff before it blew up, so it was the same amount of time as just waiting normally. If you get the gunslinger medal like 65 times, it becomes legendary and you can spawn with the elite pistol. And for people saying use the marine, the marine is better at the combat, but the full load of rockets doesn't do damage equal to the three bombs, so its faster to use the pilot.
for some reason the capital ships of the Clone Wars era feel significantly smaller on the outside, but also the battles are more fun in my opinion, especially when frigates are moving around
they are smaller, i dont think by too much though, the two clone wars capital ships are actually missing a "ship particle cannon" that are only on the empire and rebel capital ships
I haven’t lost yet with my tried and true tactic of just dog fighting for the entirety of the match and just racking up score that way. Sabotaging the ship does seem interesting and of course effective as well, but the sabotage bonus and quick kills combo has landed me countless space battle wins in Galactic Conquest
I had these down to a science. I knew exactly where to land, how to do the most damage and get out. You never take the systems down from outside, always go straight in and bomb them with those satchel charges. This just felt like a real battle with options. The new Bf are so bad, it’s all scripted as “phases” and it’s boring. I don’t understand why this video is so less intense compared to when I played. I’m guessing this is offline on low difficulty. I remember huge skirmishes in the main room, having to repair the ammo droid, sprint around and make sure you aren’t getting killed while satchel charging.
I know the room you are talking about it was in the archives in the singleplayer mode and it was one of the small multi-player maps I usually didn't play on it though but I can't remember why besides that I did generally prefer the larger maps.
@mushroomhead3619 well it's not that exact same room the one in hunters was much more of a hallway type design with the tubes in the middle, but this one is more of a zigzag with the tubes in the back. The room is one of the incubation vaults, according to wikitroid, but tye resemblance is striking.
@@thystaff742I love the old battlefront as much as everyone else, but the game certainly wasnt ahead of its time. It’s actually incredibly lazy and minimal by even the standards of games of the time.
