  • This is a documentary about Neil Johnson
travelling to Fuzhou China each year to learn and teach Dishu Quan (Dog Boxing)
It highlights the good cultural links between England and China over the last 21 years.
As ever it will not show many details of Dog Boxing but highlights the Dog Boxing book coming out very soon for people interested in the style.

Very Nice‼️ And Congratulations on your book on Gou Kuen. I wrote two books on the Jow Ga/Chau Ga system which came out in 2012 and 2015. I know exactly what you mean by trying to preserve the system for future generations. It's been sort of a Thankless job here in the States, but in Hong Kong and other places that teach our particular style, it's been well received.
Keep Pushing Forward and All the Best‼️💥💥💥

@@Neiljohnson79 Remember, if a Book Publisher doesn't want it, you can always Self Publish. Which what I did with my second book.

I love Chinese Martial Arts :] & Dishu Quan has fascinated me- most Traditional Chinese Martial arts Focus on stand up due to there emphasis on Warfare (instead of Ground Grappling they would rather slam their opponents against the Earth as hard as they can XD) Dishu Quan however is different much like BJJ they rely on tactics that would allow smaller fighters to be able to take advantage of the bigger fighter... Major difference being is that they utilize striking aswell & have a self protection orientation rather than a combat sport oreintation... To that regard it is very similar to Wing Chun except that Wing Chum focuses on stand up... & Id suggest anyone who wants to learn Dishu Quan to learn Wing Chun as a Secondary Style because sometimes your opponent wont wanna go to the Ground & Wing Chun is a great way to soften your opponent up & get yourself in a position to take them to the ground :] overall it's amazing & very applicable to MMA too! thank you for all of the videos hope that some day ill get the chance to train with yall :D
