This feature adds convenience and is especially useful in performance and racing contexts, where quick engine shutdowns might be necessary.'
So glad to see Doug reviewing my childhood classics! This used to be one of my favorite vehicles in NFS 3 (not so much in NFS 4, since it was easily overshadowed by McLaren F1 GTR and Ferrari F50)
I was never a ferrari fan, but if I were to get one it would be this one, if I were rich of course. I've loved this car ever since I saw it in bad boys 2. What's crazy is I was just thinking the other day about how nice this car is the other day, and here Doug is reading my mind.
Actually, to cancel the immobilizer light no, need to pull off the key from its fob before pressing the button of the remote control. The stop button avoid the climate control to start even if the "auto" mode is selected. It means no cool no heat by pressing this. This feature exists in many other cars in order to be absolutely sure the the A/C compressor won't kick in for nothing. But stopping warmer air as well is definitely very odd...
The 550 Maranello is my all-time favorite Ferrari. I was 15 when it came out in 1997 and it was the ultimate grand touring Ferrari of my generation. It’s my dream car.
This has always been my favorite looking Ferrari from the era. It was peak 90s design. Sleek, swoopy and lots of interesting features like the vents. It was big enough to let it all the design elements breath and it kept the trademark quad taillights and exhaust. Rare too. Only seen one on the street.
The stop button on the 550 and 360 when lit stops all A/C and heating and it will just blow air which is nice to get rid of fuel smells in the cabin when stationary. If it doesn't do this when activated, the button (or the circuits that it should activate) are broken. Getting the heating to work on this car is finicky. It's very probable to see it with a working A/C but with no heating. Other than that it's a gorgeous car which was also available in a GT1 version (aka the GTO even though it's not recognised as such by Ferrari)
This episode is extra special for me because just before I watched this, I watched Nick Roman's report on the death of the manual transmission on regular car reviews. Always loved it since childhood
Great review as always Doug
@inCARnationAustralia reviewed two 575 Maranellos this week, one which had been converted from auto to manual and they mentioned just how great the gated manual was compared to the automated alternative that was popular at the time.
I love 550 and 575.
Had a model of the 550M and some hot wheels of them as a kid. Between that and the F40 they will always be the most beautiful and best Ferraris ever made imo.
Also the old Ferrari horn sound is the best. I wish they would bring it back
This is completely not affordable.
Well I can afford it. Honey call the realtor
69K is cheap for Ferrari
For a Ferrari, it definitely is.
The 550 Maranello and the F50 are my favourites Ferraris of all time, just beautiful cars.
Dude, why don't you buy this car? Like you said, it ain't going to get any cheaper, only going to get more expensive. Better blow that money on it now than having to spend double that amount in 3 years.
The brown leather seats, gauge cluster and the metallic gear shifter makes this car so good looking and also very comfortable + the N/A V12 of course!
You always bring something unique to the table, can't get enough!
The second time
This car is so Doug. It's like his name is written all over it! Even the front looks like him when smiling.
It's a car that holds its design.. One of those timeless designs.. I loved those Hella horns.. Was a cool mod for the 90s, that was factory for Ferrari..
Mike Lowry Busted this up in Bad Boys 2 😂
That stop button turns the AC compressor on and off. Older ferraris say off or stop instead of AC
A/C AND Heater, which is quite unique
Love, love, love the 550 Maranello!!! Always have and always will. Absolutely beautiful car!
Yes I've been waiting for this! The Maranello was one of my favorite cars growing up!
Waiting? He did it already...
@@imrytebeehyneu yea, but that was so long ago. This video is much more thorough compared to that one.
Fun fact: its steering wheel is the same Momo wheel that was in Civic Type R (EK9) and Accord Euro R (CL1). My personal favorite among all the steering wheels ever made.
Nice video (haven’t seen it yet)
so dumb
@@papa_pt c’mon bro it’s a joke
Doug reviewed it before...
What a fantastic Ferrari GT car! A great pleasure to see this!
THIS is my favourite ferrari

He spelled it correctly the first time. English, not the bastardised 🇺🇲 version 👍
I wonder if anyone noticed that this particular model was featured in the movie Bad Boys 2.
Doug is the type of guy who while living in a beautiful sunny location. Decides it's best to film in a dank garage with bad lighting and worse acoustics.
I like that description. A modern day Daytona. Beautiful sound and cool styling.💜❤️👌😎
I think its proportions are a bit weird.
Have always loved the 550 and 575! I don't remember what press was like at the time, but never hear about these now. Buy it!
Once you see how amazing a 550 GTS looks you can never look at a stock 550 again. The 550 GTS makes a stock 550 look like it is on stilts.
Yes, those race prepared 550/575 are absolutely stunning.
Doug throughout this entire review and especially when he drove the car with all the praise, calling it perfection, and questioning why he doesn't have a Ferrari and wanting a 550 tells me he's so buying this one!
