Just got my EE catch can for my 2010 Camaro. Thanks for the tips, especially about angling the PCV intake port on the top of the can to the side. I appreciate you posting the vid. Thank you!
You probably dont give a shit but if you're bored like me during the covid times you can stream all the new movies on Instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my gf recently xD
Im not mechanically savvy at all so I thought i'd look on youtube. I bought the exact same can and have a 2011 LLT. This was hugely informative. Thanks!
Make sure you put your oil cap back in when removing the cover to prevent any contaminates from going into your oil. Also, put the lock washer on the bottom of the bolt underneath the stock mounting bracket.
@punjabimo the hose you get is definitely long enough. I had about another 10" left over after the can was installed. You may want to purchase another stock tube from the dealer just so you can take the can off if you want to.
Some people report hearing hissing noises after installing the catch can. You? Have you considered using the oil cap breather with a one way built in valve?
@Vikas Thakur I haven't noticed any hissing noises on my install, therefore I have not thought about using the breather cap. Maybe you need a new o ring on the can? This is the elite engineering can
@daramgeee I went to the dealership and told them I wanted to purchase the hose. They had it shipped from the Canada plant. Less than 20 bucks, and your welcome. Good luck.
graphicsgod Its been a long time since I really looked into these. It’s still on my car and works, but I would if your taking about those oil cap breathers with the little filter on it, I remember way back when a lot of people said that one was BS. But as always take it with a grain of salt. Sorry I couldn’t help anymore. Best of luck
good video , I got the same engine in my Holden Commodore SV6 , I'm fitting a catch can at some stage this weekend .This video was what I was looking for , only difference is that mine is on the opposite side , but the same logic applies .
good video im trying to install one on mine 13 ss still not sure which size it ll go , im also gonna place a strut brace . i wonder if the place for the catch can is the same as yours so that it wont be in the way of the strut brace.
You know the flow goes fron the crackcase (the part close to the firewall) then to the intake manifold (that hard plastic looking cover on top of engine).
Kp The Competition you could add on to the clean side of wanted, I believe the newer ones offer a dual type system, might be pointless, not really sure. I would recommend you hitting the forums, asking others what they think as I may not be the best source to ask your question. Best of Luck Joe
I don’t remember it was so long ago. I would say whatever size the fittings are off the can that would be the proper size. Sorry I can’t be of more help currently.
Hi Ben, this is not my everyday vehicle, so it would be difficult for me to say how much it catches. I do not do oil changes regularly since this is a leisure car. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I know that if you look around on some of the forums, plenty of people have shared pictures of there catch can contents after installing
🤣🤣 hes sooooo right thoo this is coming from someone who owns a v6 soon v8 but I would say it's good to learn on the v6 when ya get the v8 be familiar with the engine
I've got the 45th as well. Finally finding videos for the V6 crew thx man
Still got it?

Hi, I'm trying to install a catch can also, but I can't find an OEM hose online to buy. Where did you find yours?
@PaulBinNYC: Glad it helped you. Enjoy your catch can.
Side note, jus noticed 2 thumbs down, just curious to know what I could have done differently.
What does a catch can do?? Benefits? ??
Which is better?? These simple catch cans, or the complex ones that tie into the oil cap??

What did your research lead you to? Oil cap style, can style or can you do both?
good video , I got the same engine in my Holden Commodore SV6 , I'm fitting a catch can at some stage this weekend .This video was what I was looking for , only difference is that mine is on the opposite side , but the same logic applies .
Cool, good luck, hope this helps!
I would not cut your only OEM hose Joe. Buy another one for $18 so you can put it back to stock if you need to. I bought one and just used the ends.
Thanks for the video, it was helpful when I did my install.
I’m
@Larry S: glad it went smooth for you, enjoy your catch can, and more importantly, your Camaro.

Great video!I also didn't know which hoses to connect.

I don’t off hand. I believe I have a brand new one in the garage I can check when I get a chance. It may be printed on there.
@@Camaro45th ok thanks I’ve been looking online and can’t find the correct one to order

What is call next to catch can? Right side? It's looks like can...vacuum can?
You know the flow goes fron the crackcase (the part close to the firewall) then to the intake manifold (that hard plastic looking cover on top of engine).
can you help me what brand or model is your catch can and where did you buy it thanks
El camaro RS it is an elite engineering catch can. I bought through their website.
could u add one on the clean side also ? or would that be pointless?

do they not already come with a catch can ? I thought all new body style came with a catch can
+Tanner Moore
No they do not, i believe the 1LE and ZL1 come with oil seperator, but standard models do not.
Hi Joe, im new to this. just a question the top hose is a clean side??
MrCNT97 yes. The non filtered side goes into the side and any contaminants drops into the can.
Thanks..by the way, great installation video, you got another subscriber.
Can u pass me the link were u order ur catch can
www.eliteengineeringusa.com/
It’s been a few years I’m sure they have made enhancements to their cans. All the best and happy holidays.
