Gotta get the anti-roll bar adjusters mapped for the V8's. Lots of lap time to be found over the life of the tire with those adjustments.
You're turning in too early for a v8sc... You gotta take a slightly later apex so you get the power down better outta the corner. (real v8 racecar crew chief here)

You really notice that on the Mountain, guys turn in way too soon at the elbow and struggle to get the power down on exit, it’s slows them all the way down Conrod
First lap 26 to 11
I've driven the track in real life in a Holden Monaro/Pontiac GTO, and I can tell you the game is misrepresenting a lot of little things on the track. The black rumble strips on the outside of turns 5 and 12 cannot be accelerated on, they're big triangles of tarmac and completely unsettle the car.
Also, almost every corner has to be apexed late and roll into the power with a muscle car, and carousel has to be a mid entry, you roll toward the inside, then when you see the inside rumble strips you roll into the gas. Tap the brakes before the kink, turn in with no power, then when you're mid corner roll into the power.
I always wanted to see the real V8 Supercars at Road America. The drivers would LOVE this track!

God, these things are fun to race. Right up there with the Porsche Cup cars. Hope they stick around, I'd hate to see them go dead like the last Supercars.

Dave your gear ratio is wrong thats why the other guy was able to pass you up the main straight.
Great driving! Side note...bugs me so bad when people don't use the correct shifting setup with the car! It's a sequential shift transmission, not paddle shift right??

I have always wanted to race with these but lobbies are usually pretty low in numbers. How did you find such a full lobby? I am in the US. Maybe it's just timing.

Looks to me like maybe Henri just had a little less wing the you. I'm assuming this wasn't a fixed race? You were faster in the corners and we was faster on the straights.
Seemed like he could pull you a couple tenths when he was in your draft where as you couldn't do the same when you were in his. You could almost always pick up a couple tenths in the corners though. Also, you had a 1x after the start, but i wasn't sure what it was for, but even if it was contact, it couldn't have been too bad being a 1x. Good run.

It's amazing how these cars seem to be so driveable now. Obviously they still take substantially more skill than most but they appear to be far less icy.

The road version is fast so much power it’s unbelievable, but if I would choose a super car it would be the mustang, if set up right there the better car, power wise there almost the same in speed etc, but handling the mustang is better

Hey Dave.. not damage but it looks like Matt Bunn Henri Pitkanen and Michael Scurlock running low rear wing.. higher top speed but compromised grip in the corners especially when tyres start to fall off.. you were gaining under braking and corners.. same applies to new car as old car.. get wheel as straight as possible out of the corners.. allows for much better exits and faster to full throttle.. still over driving her mate! :) but amazing race! well done
I was the Pepsi Max car just ahead on lap 1...came through the smoke to find a car 90deg on the crack, was 10mph slower on the straights after that :'( Nicely picked your way through Dave! Class as ever

A lot of the corners like Canada corner (2nd gear) I change down to second to slow and rotate but when I hit the apex as I pick up the throttle I get third gear really early other than that I dunno what advice to give, I’m rubbish in these cars. On a side note I did say the new tyre model will ruin the sim until people are used to it, all the cars have it or they let you do a warm up lap before gridding up
NEVER drove this car until this latest version. Absolutely incredible car ;) great drive too
Cheers Dave I also enjoy the big heavy V8s they drive like my Old Capri did, tail happy and takes some stopping I did however have two Yorkshire Stone Paving flags in the boot for handling purposes.
hardest car to drive ever.. braking is so hard.. doing the time trial atm unreal hard hoping to get into the 1.29s
Try not to carry the brake and the throttle at the same time in the apex, there was a fair bit of cross-over time doing both in the slow speed corners.
I dont play iR, but I would probably set it up softer on the springs. That is my advice. Regards, armchair iRacer.

Time to be found on the exits to the long straights, last corner try 3rd and feel the ripple strip with your left tyre on turn in and then super smooth with the throttle, Any wheel spin will allow the guy behind an overtake opportunity

I haven't been on iracing for awhile but I loved the V8 supercar because it was hard to drive and I hated it because it was hard to drive.
That game looks good.I had an early version of iracing and couldn't even complete a lap
I could not handle any of the cars & I have been racing real cars bikes and sim for over 30 yrs has it improved any? seemed like you had to be a race technician and specialize in car set ups rather than a driver to play ..I have driven real V8 super cars & Easton creek and Bathurst NSW Australia no problems
It's not easy Jeff, but once you understand the cars it's not bad. My 13yr old lad can manage so it must be easier than it was

Hey man. Hope you can reply. Does test mode allow you to use the reading paint? I can not work out how to get say red bull racing to show up for me to play around with. And I’ve searched google high and low
Yes test works just fine. Although the driver needs to be in the car for it to show up. Jump in and drive a few meters and stop, then go back into the replay. 👍
Dave Cam okay I must be doing something wrong then. On trading paint I hit use car or something along those lines. Is there something else I am meant to do? Because their site has 0 instructions
Yes if it's from trading paints you just click race this paint. Have you tried hitting ctrl R when in iracing to refresh the paint?

@Dave, you’re asking for tips on driving the V8’s.
At the start hold down the brake pedal, put it in 1st and floor the throttle. When the flag drops just release the brake pedal, and the car performs a 100% acceleration with no wheel spin.

I can't drive this car for shit... got a 206 2nd lap then by the end I was doing 210s
That's normal look at the guys on this stream the lap times for the last couple of laps did drop right off and this is the way tire deg should be, a little less throttle coming of the corners and a tad smoother driving may gain you half a second a lap for the last quarter of the race though.

Hi Dave, I wanted to ask many times. How should I adjust the settings to use the clutch in the start like you always do? You change the gears with paddles then. I have no clue how to properly set this in iracing. I have huesinkveld sprint pedals and this would help :-)
If your clutch is mapped and your paddles are set to do the shifting, then just make sure you don't have autoclutch on in the "Drive" menu. Set it to Auto-blip or no assist and blip the downshifts yourself.

Bout the same. Need to easy on throttle. Porsche has no abs or tc, you gotta find and keep the grip yourself.

That first lap was pure carnage. Well done to avoid everything Dave. These things are tough in the first 2 laps as the tyres come up to temp then as the race goes on you will find the rear becomes looser. Try increasing the rear roll bar as the car becomes looser on turn in, it should induce a little understeer and produce better drive out of the corners.

11:26 when coming out of a sharp corner dont mash the gas or you'll do a burnout. ease up to half throttle, then shift to 2nd then most of the time you can mash it after that
