We have had our Tesla model S for three years and we love it!. A driver T-boned us on the drivers side . She hit us hard but neither of us was hurt. They are built well and the safety is the best.. It didn't cost much more to repair our Tesla than any other new car.
The Tesla cars are very similar prices amongst themselves, including the SUV. You get a ton more for your money with the bigger one. If you wanted to be fair in comparison with the Model 3, it would be a Kia Optima, now a K5. Those go for almost half the price of the the Tesla Model Y SUV. Be careful with the terms and conditions on the financing - sometimes you can't finance the whole car with the 1% or 2% rates. They also don't always let you finance for longer terms like 5 or 6 years, they are sometimes maxed at 4 or even 3 years. Also be careful about the warranty - it does not cover everything if you break down. Wear and tear items are not covered, it's mostly for major issues. But there is a big difference with a lease because you don't own the car, they do. With a lease the maintenance is included. Personally, the Telluride is too much car for you, but it's really nice. Instead of that hybrid Sorrento with that great roof, get a regular gas Sorrento which is only a touch smaller. Just find one with the interior you really liked.
Just buy a regular car that you can afford without finance or lower finance. No need for fancy gadgets as long as reliable and gets you from to A to B and back. You've hated the electrical problems with your current car and tesla will have more electronics to go wrong.

Tesla they can be good cars bad things can also be bad and go wrong on those cars not too long ago a young couple were in one driving and the doors wouldn't open they couldn't get the doors to unlock so they ended up dying which was so incredibly sad and then there was that doctor that drove his wife and kids off a cliff in one and everyone survived and what a blessing that was if you and Brittany will have children someday you will need a car to get them around in too Mama Jo's on the Case God bless❤❤
I don’t think they give you a key fob anymore. You get the card which I just kept in my wallet. You use your phone for everything. I loved my Tesla. Will probably own another one some day.
Of course this decision is yours to make but a piece of financial advice is to not take a loan out on a depreciating item. Houses *appreciate* so a loan makes sense. A car depreciates the minute you drive it off the lot. We’ve just never done a loan for a vehicle. Would you consider a used car? Wish you all the best!
Did you ever think there is a reason for all the incentives? I have several friends that could afford any car they wanted, purchased Teslas and kept them less than a year. Maybe not as baby car parts, but with all of that technology an abundance of things will go wrong!
The incentive is for electric cars over all, not specifically for Tesla. I love my electric car but we did know about it ahead of time. Most people I’ve talked to that got rid of them didn’t really do enough research ahead of time. It’s funny because one of them got rid of their electric car were frustrated with something, but it was wrong info they had. I cleared it up and they were sad they got rid of it.
@ I assure you, my friends did all the research to be done, they don’t have that kind of money because they were careless in their decisions. Also, only the tax credit is the incentive for the electric cars

I have a telluride and I love it! I get 23 mpg in town which is actually pretty good!

I wish it was all, but there are only certain ones that qualify.
@ check with your tax person or even the irs. In California the credit applies to all electric vehicles.

I have a GMC Terrain. Love it. Please test ride the GMC Terrain. It only has 2 rows of Seats. But I have had 5 in mine Comfortably

tesla dont break down like other cars its more like a computer crash so a reboot usually fix it 😁

Stay away from kia they brake down fast, and you will have nothing but problems with it. I've had 3 kias's, and none of them lasted past 65,000 miles.
I disagree, I had a Kia Rio and my Mom has the Kia Soul, they’ve been great cars, very few issues.
