AHHHHHH okay okay. *takes deep breath*
FEELS LIKE I’VE BEEN WAITING AGES TO FINALLY GET TO LEAVE A REVIEW!!!!!!!!
omg vicky-the amount of emotions this makes me feel is UNREAL!
first of all, song choice? incredible. second, the editing? PHENOMENAL! everything about it is so clean. i’m talking about the quality of your clips, the font choice, transitions, all of it.
speaking of transitions-how freaking cool!! i feel like this is kind of a new style for you which i love to see. and the paint splash thingy? owns my entire heart omg. it took my breath away in that very first clip and continued to do so as the video went on.
i love love love how you weaved those talks between emma/archie and regina/henry into this video-that was so creative and it really draws our attention to the heartbreak each of them were enduring. honestly, all of the clips (both video and audio) were so perfectly selected and positioned flawlessly into this edit.
god it just makes me wanna CRY!
do i have a favorite part? yes, it begins at 0:00 and ends at 3:16. 😂 but lemme just mention a few additional points that stood out to me:
- the intro. omgggggg THE INTRODUCTION!!!!! that was so beautiful and catchy and i’m srsly obsessed!
- the “(i’m still your girl)” part where regina is walking away as emma asks “how the hell did you get like this”??!? PAIN. THIS IS PAIN!!!!!
- immediately following that where we cut to the clip of them in the storage closet-idk why but i am IN LOVE with the sound of regina leaning back against that locker and the little sob that escapes her lips. for whatever reason, this is just so visually and audibly pleasing when combined with that particular part of the song. ooftt!
- okay BUT THEN! the first time we see regina (roni) crying i just wanna rip out my own heart and have the EQ crush it because hahhahSJDKDK OUUUUCHHHHH!!!!!!!! i was not prepared for this heartache but i love itttttt😭
- ok i just realized i’m going in chronological order here and complimenting your entire video so lemme skip ahead a little……😂
- at 2:44 when you show us both clips of regina (and roni) emotionally breaking on screen at once (and how the paint slowly crawls across the entire screen enveloping them in B&W!!). that is ART!❤️ absolutely gorgeous.
- and then everything that follows, all the clips you selected and the timing at which you laid them out was perfection!! the paint splash drawing them into vibrant color once again felt so right for this, gaaaaahhhh i wish you could have seen my reaction the first time i saw it😂
-one more thing: that was so creative using the song lyric at the end of the video to transition us to the ending credits (does that make sense? lol) i love it!!
i love ALL of it! you crafted such a heart-wrenching, beautiful story in a 3 minute window and i am truly amazed (yet again) by your editing. my angst-loving heart is thriving rn and i am soooo eager to read the fanfic to accompany this!! 😍
anyway, sorry for such a lengthy and messy review here. i just want you to know i admire your talent and am so appreciative of your hard-work!! thank you for sharing this masterpiece with us all. time for me to watch and sob over it again😂❤️❤️❤️
Jewel, I have NO words 😭 This is everything and more. As soon as I was introduced to the song the story just wrote itself. It was so good to work on something that inspired me so much to push myself and use transitions and effects I had never tried before!! The fact that you made a list, I cannotttttt asjkjksjkskj I'm so emotional right now. Messing with audio and the music together is lots of fun hahahah I really have no words to express how much this meant to me, everything you picked up and found!! It really motivates me to keep doing this. I tried to make sure everything could tell a story: the audio, the clips chosen, the song, the text and the effects placement -- especially the B&W/color juxtaposition! ksjaksjkjsjs I am dying, you're amazing, Jewel, thank you so much. I hope you enjoy the fic
