- 2023 is wrapping up and boy there were some great board games this year. Unfortunately, I couldn't play them all. Among those I did play, here are the solo board games that stood out to me as well as my very own Game of the Year.

My favorite solo was Earth. Huge deck of cards allowed me to play three games without shuffling. But I want to check out Bonnie & Clyde from this video
Ah yes the no reshuffle beauty of a big ol deck. If you’d like I have one extra copy left of Bonnie and Clyde. Just email me
Dwellings of Eldervale with over 200 plays in 2023. 🤯🤯🤯😁😁😁
Gotta be a record
Halls of Hegra, i would sugest using plastic zip bags for your components to keep neatly, and reduce risk of damage, cheers .
Yep definitely
I really dig your vibe, Mike. Your sense of humor elevates your videos above the masses. Lovin it. 😊
Thank you man. Glad to entertain 😎
Oh man, Solar Titans. I wanted to back this during the campaign but forgot to do so in the end. Same story then again with late pledge. So happy you liked it. Need to try to get my hands on a copy.
Halls of Hegra is such a fantastic solo game.
My personal #1 game (solo and competitive) is Voidfall.
Thank you for all your great videos this year. I wish you a fantastic 2024 and looking forward to see what you will play.
Thank you! Voidfall looks epic. email me at boardgamesforone@gmail.com if you can’t find a copy of Solar Titans.
I really enjoy Final Girl (and how modular it is). I only recently found out about Halls of Hegra, and have pledged for the second printing, so hopefully I'll get that soonish.
Other favorite solo games from this year are The White Castle, Marvel Zombies, Legacy of Yu, and Lost Ruins of Arnak's newest expansion. I got so many games in this fall that I haven't gotten to yet, so I'm sure that list will grow.
I understand. I’ve got a pile of 2023 games that won’t be played until 2024. Marvel Zombies is one of them.
Good stuff!
We will have to slide Valka in after it delivers
Hell yeah Halls of Hegra! (This is MiltonPlaysGames, by the way.)
Hey Milton! Glad to see you.
Superb game
Wildtails €3 on pnparcade but you need an office / laser printer
Good deal
Hi Mike, nice to see Final Girl there, but my personal pick wud be Eila and Something Shiny 🐰✨
That my friend is a game I hear some good things about. I just might have to grab it when I next visit the game store.
@@BoardgamesforOne I've always played multi-player since I got into the hobby, but Eila was the one game that got me into solo gaming. If it weren't for Eila, I wouldn't have delved into solo gaming! 😁
Great video as always. And I totally agree with your game of the year. What a gem of a game. Wonderful.
@@gduncan1770 thanks man 😎
What is "the swing" in reference to Final Girl?
In final girl, one game might be easier or harder, or near impossible, based on the cards that are drawn. So you might play one game and be doing okay, but then one card is flipped that is so awful that you can’t likely recover. It’s part of the games charm as long as you know to expect that going in. Plus you can also do a lot of mitigation by sacrificing cards.
Everdell 👏👏👏
Everdell is a sure winner for past years. A great game.
Small islands
Just gave that one to my sisters kids.
Lords of Ragnarok
A good one
