Thank you I'm very happy to hear everyone is enjoying this channel. When we get to 50 000 subscribers Tristar Gym fly in one lucky subscriber for a week of training. Should be fun!
Tristar Gym That sounds awesome! I would also like to request a breakdown of how to use the jab effectively, all the tristar fighters have utilized this very effectively a breakdown of that would be great, especially how you use it to beat people to the punch as that's what you seem to do so well. Many thanks form the UK
Probably the most videos posted from any of the well established gyms. Thank you very much for sharing some priceless knowledge. Big thumbs up Mr Zahabi and team TRISTAR osss
Could you do a breakdown of bjj effectively being used in a street altercation ? Thanks for all the videos they are awesome. I really loved your knee slice guard pass details, super helpful.
Delighted you put this up was fighting Saturday just gone and thought I should have finished the fight feel I need to work on my ground and pound these tips are great, would love a breakdown of how to strike effectively in the guard Aswell thanks a lot :)
you're content is great. It's cool how you have a variety of content that appeals to everyone. It really helps appeal to a diverse group of people who are looking to improve various aspects of their game. Do you plan on covering anything on takedown defense? Or maybe ways to transition into a stand up position? I've always been fasinated with Jose Aldo's ability to keep it standing.
great video learned soo much 1 question tho just out of curiosity is it better to teach with edited videos or is it better if you just film yourself teaching the technique how do you decide which way to film it either way love this channel
Thank you for these videos, Mr. Zahabi. I was wondering if you could post a ground and pound video that addresses the high guard or rubber guard, including the basic concepts of posture while using the can-opener as a hub to strike. I remember you had a great instructional before, but I cannot seem to find it. Thanks. And I am grateful for all of your instructional videos.
Hey Firas, first let me say love your vids, they help a ton. I was wondering if you could make more ground and pound vids dealing with conceptual procedures for controlling positions and managingyour attacks... very similar to GSP. I'm also a big fan of your guard pulling vids. As always thank you for the time and effort you put into these techniques videos.
Thanks Coach! Outstanding in every regard. I do have a question about another video I remember seeing on the sight. You broke down a fight to illustrate several interesting points, however the ones that I wanted to come back to I can not find. The topic in question was breaking through a high or rubber guard, not by pulling back but by driving in and forward. Can anyone point me to the correct video? Thanks for your time!V/rJohn
Hi thanks for the video's they are awesome. I would appreciate it if video's focused a little more on drilling. Explaining exactly how you think these techniques should be drilled.Again thanks so much for these awesome video's.
Firas, would it ever be a good idea for the man on top to go to a kneeling pass from the top? In MMA you cant be upkicked if you are kneeling, plus it offers more control over your opponent
How much would ground and pound (or mma in general) change if it was bare-knuckles? I'm thinking the fist is a precision instrument, so GnP with nice wraps is one thing... Generally, in MMA or Muay Thai, we train to "go through the target", to really load up properly and create that muscle extension "whip snap" return -- but then, it's the shot we don't see that often causes the KO. As a doorman, I'll just keep wearing my nice leather gloves.
***** yes definitely. I have seen it work and it is a strong way to control your opponent. You have to be careful of course, always make sure to keep one foot on the hip and don't stay there long.
Tristar Gym i ve also seen kicking the stomach or whatever, to distract him to go for a sweep. www.10thplanetjj.com/threads/20241-DLR-for-no-Gi look for sean's response for links.
Tristar Gym for what sweeps wiil you go from there? the only things that comes to my mind are the cllasic back take and the sitting guard sweeps such as going for a single
Saad Awad already used it, vs Will brooks 2. Sometimes, Gegard used it(vs Sokoudjou) De la riva ankle control(in order to catch triangle choke or tripod sweep)+ up kick, heel kick combo is well-suited technique
Although this is not mma, I'm a white belt in Jiu Jitsu and used the De la riva on a blue belt in class and had success despite only learning the technique from a book. I'd say if it is easy for a beginner to pull of against a more experienced opponent it would likely work in MMA due to it's simplicity and effectiveness.
Yes just simply keep kick your feet up one at a time. Kick up towards the ceiling like I show I. The video. In the worst case scenario if you do get swept just grab his knees and close your guard around his legs so he can't get on top of you and finish the sweep. From there you can get back up or work a leg lock. Hope that helps. F
I was always wondering how to escape the kick sweep. I also herd it being called sickle sweep but i guess its the second one she shows in this video: th-cam.com/video/MV0iZDE1izc/w-d-xo.html
I can't believe you're givin away free QUALITY knowledge.. always sticks to basics and expands from there..

As a striker with not a lot of grappling lessons (yet) this was very helpful
Only if I would of known this little details in my last fight... but now I thank you I'm so gonna drill this.. i like the details coach. Thanks you!
Thank you Firas for your videos, I'd like to see some ground and pound work from inside the guard, GSP style.
You guys are awesome, thanks for the great content!
Would love to see a video of what to do defending and escaping this position.

Brilliant as usual.
Coach - can you do a breakdown on how a fighter like Pettis can beat a RDA.
Nice breakdown!
Thank you Firas for the video
Awesome tutorial thanks Firas. Hoping to see more Muay Thai tutorials like in the clinch but these videos are great too.
Very good video man! Really made me realize how weak me ground and pound really is. It's truly a whole art unto itself!

great camera work
If were playing by ufc rules, cant you touch your other hand on the mat to classify yourself as a grounded opponent? That way upkicks do no happen?

i watched your videos. You know this job, i am waiting for your new videos. Take care
Better look out if it's rousimar palhares on the ground though or someone equivalent. Heel hooks can easily end it
Great stuff, thank you for sharing your knowledge
Awesome video.

This must be why Rory is so good at ground and pound.
elr1cbros GSP's top game too.
Awesome. Thank you for sharing.
Great, love it.
This is a fucking clinic
Yay i m you re first subscriber!!
Great stuff.............Thanks !

Thank you man.
Where can I get one of those heads?
What can I do if my opponent only kicks my legs and doesn't try to kick my head?

This technique can be learned in the Bjj course or the mma Striking course?
do you think da la riva can really work in mma?
***** yes definitely. I have seen it work and it is a strong way to control your opponent. You have to be careful of course, always make sure to keep one foot on the hip and don't stay there long.

Also what yep of gloves are you wearing! I love hayabusa also..
Firaz is this the best position for ground and pound?
When you bring both feet in, could he not get a double anklepick or is there some defence to it?
Yes just simply keep kick your feet up one at a time. Kick up towards the ceiling like I show I. The video. Tristar Gym Thanks for commenting back. I have been getting caught with this every now and again.
bisping had some good ground defence in the cb fight
What are your thoughts on keeping your guard while attempting to GNP?
Nice! lets reach 50k subs!
Firas why do you wear shorts over your man tights.
U deserve a million subs bro. But then again your audience are selective people of culture
