Yard NEGLECTED for YEARS is TRANSFORMED!!!

  • G'day friends
Here we are on another adventure in the world of TH-cam yard clean ups! This is the second day's work at this property, but definitely not the last! We made a bigger dent this time round, and are happier with the results.
Also, a mate who's another contractor was driving past, saw Clayre and I working, and pulled over to lend a hand.
There were some vintage BMLC action shots in this one, as a 2 stroke Victa Commando made an appearance :)
Thanks again for watching, as the client was not charged for this job! It was funded by TH-cam advertising revenue, Patreon and the Buy Me a Coffee app!

Sean, that grass looks like wool. So fine and thick and hard to mow. I am so happy to see Claire with you. She’s a real hard worker.
I hope she can work with you often. I like that the other man stopped to give you a hand also. That was so nice of him.
Waiting for part three. You always do a fantastic transformation on anything you take on. You are the best. God bless you and take care of your health. Thanks Claire for finally letting us see/ meet you. God bless you both and God bless your family. ❤️❤️👍👍🌟🌟🙏🙏🏆🏆❤️❤️

Yeah, that vine one has rose attributes (leaves, thorns). That was quite a corner and enjoyed your different tools you tried to be able to clear it. Thank you to your friend for stopping to help. Interesting how your combined talents teamed nicely. The never-ending grass buried surprises in a small corner of the yard were unexpected...several chairs, a tire....it didn't LOOK like anything was there... Things really can get lost if overgrowth hits. Good you took out the mystery plant in the fence. (Liked your applause sound.) You are reaching towards the end. Clayre is in the middle of the battle too and the yard...you would never believe what it looked like before you started. Nice work to all.

There was so much bramble, roots, thorns and sticks smothering the land that I felt it couldn’t breathe. For myself I could see the similarities I personally have with various mental diagnoses and the overwhelming task at hand. But once you put in the work, there is a clearing, there is a light and hope at the end. Likewise, the land can now receive the sun & nutrients again, and flourish in new life. Thank you for ALL you do! 🫶🏼👏🏼

Sean, you are truly a master edger! Awesome 👍🏻💚💚💚 Just sayin’, even when I was young I couldn’t have taken care of a property like that by myself. Spending all your off time doing yard work🤦🏻‍♀️Nah, glad I live in an apartment.

Love the stralitzias(birds of paradise) in a big clump. It is a showy piece. Not for you but it could do with a bit of thining. As it shoots from the bottom.
    Again a fantastic job.
I find it incredible that neighbours would rather ring the council and report these places but couldn't find out if the occupiers needed help and got a couple of other neighbours to help.
Ding dong to them. It is better having you and your cheery self.
Exsoldier rather you anyway. Good job as usual. Stay safe.🥰👍🎆🌻

The thorny plant mess on the corner by the tree at the corner is called: Multi floral Rose. It grows out of control if it is not kept trimmed. This is what we call it in the USA. The plant originated from China and other parts of Asia.
    Hope that answered you,
    Keep up the awesome work!!
    Your friend in the USA.

I just want to share a tip for getting out small stumps, in case you want to remove one in the future. I keep a compass saw (woodworking saw) in my garden tool box. With it, I can just saw through the roots, since it is a narrow blade. It is not damaged by sawing in the dirt. I am 64 years old, and have had to start gardening smart rather than relying on strength like I used to. I am NOT saying you should have removed the stumps. I just thought this tip might help when I saw you hacking away at the one stump. I think what you are doing is wonderful! Oh, and there is a great book for us older folks that some of your clients might want to read: Gardening for a Lifetime, How to Garden Wiser as You Grow Older by Sydney Eddison. After reading it, I am making some changes in my yard to make care easier.

That mower is like a bush hog. Every time I see you cut that thick grass I would think you need one. Awsome job! As always you do amazing work. Makes me have hope for the human race. You are one of a limited kind. You help others in need by donating your time and resources. I support you whole heartedly!!!!

Bird of Paradise, noticed a bloom on the ground, beautiful yet looks like a mean plant to care for, just like the Lantana, you said invasive, I said we buy that stuff in Iowa in the summer in hanging baskets. 😁😆
I felt better after you beat the crud out of that stump! 😆🤣😡😆

I have a firm opinion that vegetation, bush, tree etc. Should not cover any part of a window.
Trim to just below the sill or remove them from that spot to between windows. What is the point of windows? Light and views. The eyes of your home. Otherwise, why have them? Also the growth in front of windows makes the house look shabby. Not chic.

My dad showed me a trick one time...if you take a sledge hammer when you get to the point that the roots start showing on bushes and whack it a few times it will loosen the dirt and you can pull the unwanted roots up really easy...
