I'm a huge fan of Osprey's rules, especially for non-historical. They're usually a refreshing take on rules that have largely just become warhammer clones. Light & easy, able to be picked up by people who are normally intimidated by larger games.

And here I thought savage worlds had an interesting card deck mechanic, this looks perfect for beginners and as a "portable" game.
Thank you for the great video.

Just ordered my own copy last night. Love cards almost as much as I like dice. And it seems like a fun way to use some goofier minis

    ~That isn't going to help with team-building at all~
"Look. All this infighting, resentment...that's old thinking. If we want to take over the rackets in this burg, we need a shift in paradigm, we need to learn to synergize our core competencies, we need to think of this business as if it is a family!"
This looks like a system worth trying. I have a couple of the Osprey Blue Book historical rules sets, it seems like Osprey is trying to bring something new to the table in each set. I like the playing cards usage here.

I've seen this game while browsing Osprey's homepage, but never bothered looking into it. This quick rundown actually made consider buying it as a game to play with my nephew.

The problem with this game that I discovered when it first came out was the campaign system is utterly crap. The campaign presupposes a wargame club with lots of players, doing side bets, lending each other troops, etc. It just doesn't really work in North America as we don't really have wargame clubs here. We just play with a buddy or two, or sometimes, go to an FLGS to play. Given how obscure and non GW this is, you're not going to drum up any other players for this in an FLGS session.. If it's just 2 or 3 players, why would the other player lend you his crew member if you're down, to use against him? It just doesn't work.. So sadly, the campaign system is crap and needs a lot of house ruling. However, the actual poker hands and bluffs to get the other player to waste good cards during a fight is delightful.

    keh-bohlds? I believe it's pronounced co-bolds (kō-bôlds).

Regional dialect. You should hear how I pronounce “carbine.”

Its an interesting mechanic but I feel like the focus is so heavy on the cards that it almost makes the models not matter. Not sure if I'm conveying that correctly. But still interesting.

This encouraged me to pick these rules up. It kinda seems like a game that lies somewhere between Mordheim and Malifaux. I love the card based mechanics.
