Hi Denise. I finished the bag about a week ago and brought it to the farmers' market. It held a lot more than I thought it would! My sewing with invisible thread didn't go so well, but it was my first time using it and it did still hold togehter! I've done a couple of your tutorials and I've learned a ton! Thank you!
Molly my friend - THANK you SOooooo much for this feedback. I have not had a chance to test this particular one in the video and I am SUPER happy to hear the design worked well. Can you tell my what yarn you used Please?
LoomaHat.com Of course! I used Red Heart Super Savor acrylic yarn. I didn't have any cotton yarn on hand. I am currently making this bag again, this time with yarn made from plastic bags (plarn)! I have no idea how it will turn out, and I thought it would be fun to try.
@@mollyglaeser4841oooo, that sounds like a nice idea. Saving the world from plastic, one origami bag at a time 😊
I’ve probably told you in a previous comment but you really are a wonderfully natural teacher. I am a knitter and crocheted but thanks to you I am totally hooked on loom knitting because it is so relaxing.
Oh thank you soooOOOOooo much ! I'm super happy to get your feedback 😊
Denise I had NO idea projects like this could be made with a loom!! This is SO cool! Thanks for educating me.👍🏽😁
Hello Denise, I had done one origami market bag last year, and I made it on the long rectangular loom. It was a kind of torture - to make mock-mesh on this. I was thinking "OMG I would break my fingers or a loom, or both." Today I started the new bag on the round loom and understood the word "super easy". Really, it's super easy and fast. Thank you again.
She says “Are you ready?” I always nod my head🙂
You are amazing! I at one time watched everyone’s loom videos and now I only watch yours, over and over again! Thank you for sharing with all of us! I am fairly new at this but totally addicted!
I just made this, and could not be more pleased! It’s a gift for a friend, but now need to make one for myself. I had a little trouble envisioning where things (seams) should go and how it would wind up like an actual useful bag, but in the end, it came together! The folded paper part helped very much I’m going to try sewing together about four inches of the points and then wrapping them flat but tightly with the yarn, and see how that turns out. Thank you for all your videos and patterns. You’re my go-to loom person!
Looks so beautiful! Can't wait to make this design. Thank you for creating ❤
I love this bag! Will be on my loom this week, I've been doing some market bags. You're one of the best pattern designers!
Denise you are too too clever and a wonderful teacher! The finished bag is just beautiful - thank you so much for sharing : )
I love how clearly you explain things!
Looks great! Thanks for making these videos! I like how you take the time to explain/show things well!

I love this! Another wonderful pattern ….a big winner !
Very well explained and logical. Enjoyed watching. Thank you!
Great pattern and ideas. Always love your videos
Thank you Barbara!
Love this bag, I have made several. Wondering if this same stitch could be used to make hair nets? I have tried to find a video or pattern for doing so on a loom but no luck.
I love it! Thanks for yet another wonderful project!
Thanks for the Thanks Pixiegirl121! I really appreciate it.
You are amazing. Thank you, for the info. I follow you so easy. Keep up your amazing designs love them.

MRS. DENISE I LUV UR WORK U HAVE GREAT IDEAS THEY'RE REALLY BEAUTIFUL
Amazing project, thank you
Glad you like it! AND Thank YOU for the Thank you !
I have made this fat quarters and I have been loom knitting for several years but just saw this video. I can’t wait to make this. Mindless knitting while watching movies.
Hi Denise! I love this bag and am definitely going to make one. What really caught my eye was the "tassle"? In the center. Is that done on a loom? And do you have a pattern for it also?
I've been super excited waiting for this pattern!! Can't wait to make it!!
Thank YOU Kelsey - Let me know if you have any questions !!!
Yours came out so pretty! I love the different colors c:
Peace and joy to you and yours great video.
Thank you so much Denise. 😀 ❤️
Wow, you did it again. This is so awesome! I love it, and will be making one. I love bags of all sorts and this is, in my opinion, very original the way you've done it. Lovely, thank you.
Thank YOU SewEasyCreations !!!
I'm excited to finally start this project! About what size does bag end up being? Thanks!
Hi - about the size (a bit smaller)of the market bags in the supermarket.
Wow that’s so cool I’m totally gonna try this
And also: what a great stash buster!
Wow looks amazing 🤩
Gonna try this tomorrow! Thank you so much Denise
Thank YOU for the Thank you Kiana , I really appreciate it !
Luvly could you use acrylic yarn too instead of cotton thank you
I'm not always a fan of the look of combined yarn colors - marled together - but it really works well for this!
Love this bag.
I'm actually currently working a bag (as in, that's my most active project this week) in this same shape but in crochet. But it isn't a true origami bag because I'm working three squares, joined together. But the same look.
But I would also like to try the true origami version with the long rectangle.
And this is the second origami bag that I've seen in two days. How is that possible? I'm working from a paper book so I didn't Google it. And the other origami bag I saw was also in a paper book.
But here's your video, as if to remind me that I really should make an origami one. Lol
What are the odds? Ha!
I love your tutorials, they are so easy to follow. I would love to make this bag for my upcoming family vacation. My question is... is it necessary to use the embroidery floss for this project? Or can two strands of yarn be used? Is there much of a difference with either or? I look forward to response. Once again I love your videos. Have a blessed day!
No. It just adds a bit of color. It doesn't affect the fabric.
I am in love with your works and videos and everythink
Thank YOU Ariel You're SUPER Sweet !!!
LoomaHat.com ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Oooh this looks fun. Thank you!
Hi Denise, can you tell me why you chose this particular cast-on method for this project? There are lots of different ways to cast on, and I have no idea why one method would be better than another for some patterns. For example, the chain crochet cast on seems really good, but I don’t know how to judge whether it would be the right one to use or not. I’d appreciate your advice.
Hi! I absolutely love everything you do! I am making this for my Mom's BD and am to the folding step and for some reason it must not have come out long enough or even bc I don't have enough room in the middle to fold as to not have to overlap the outer folds. Help! 😂
What kind of yarn I need to use
BRILLIANT!!!!
Thank YOU Ima !!!😘
This is sooooooooo cute I will be getting circle looms next and this will be the first thing I make lol. TY for the video
Thank YOU for the thank you!
This is a wonderful tutorial Denise! I was wonder if it's necessary to use the cotton wool. Is it possible to use other wool?
Hi Allie - you want a fiber that won’t stretch or lose its shape.
@@LoomaHat Would it be okay to use one strand 100% cotton and one strand of regular 4 wool?
It's beautiful
Thank YOU Julia !!!
Whoah, what is the difference between the flat knit and u wrap? Because sometimes I do my U wrap the way you’re flat knitting. 😮
This is a super cute bag! Do you know the length of the fabric before you fold it? I am making a scaled down version for a doll.
Omg, love this, plz you tube the mesh knit cowl. Great Work.
Thanks for asking Chandra - here is a link m.th-cam.com/video/jBTUype5E54/w-d-xo.html
Love this video just made my first one. One my second one with a request of 4 more. I am using rolled embroidery floss though rather than singles so would you know the dimensions of the bag before folding? 💜 Your videos have made lots of projects.
Sounds great! 💛 As for the size before folding - sorry I did not make a note of it.
Hi Denise! Thank you so much for your channel. I was wondering if this could be made smaller by going 21 pegs/38 rows and still have the geometry work out with the origami? I’ve tried looking up the various maths I’ve forgotten for about 45 minutes (I’m a researcher by nature!) but thought there might be a much easier “knitting math trick”, and if there is such, I know you’re the right person to ask!
I want to go smaller, but still have the bag remain useful - kind of like the little sacks you get at expos for the little treats from booths and whatnot. I’m working with “plarn” made from my heinous plastic shopping bag collection (too useful to throw away!) in an effort to pare it down, and I’m hoping to use them as donation/$1 based (or even feee giveaway treats) totes for our city’s annual spring festival, where our makerspace always has a booth. The kids always hope for little treats from the tents, and even $5 in our town can be expensive for some families, and if I could make small versions of these lovely bags, I would be more than able to have enough to give away for free for those, “$5 is just too high” moments I see far too often.
I thank you again for your videos - you are an excellent teacher!
Hi Mel - sounds AWESOME! Did you see the tiny piece of paper I used to show you how to fold the fabric? The key is the shape not the size as long as it’s rectangular you’re good. Hope that helps
That makes perfect sense, thanks! I wanted to make sure just in case; I know some folding forms require certain measurement ratios (ie. you have to have a square for the “fortune teller” to work out properly), and I didn’t want to end up with a wonky weave! Lol
Thank you again for all you do! I recommend your website and channel as the best source to learn loom knitting and get project ideas; there are others I enjoy and recommend also, but I have found yours to be the absolute best balance of “what is a loom and how do i knit on one” and “I’m pretty comfortable with this, just need the essentials”. That’s hard to do, and you’re a natural!
Hi Denise! I love ALL your patterns, I've made quite a few of them. My question is could you help me with the second option of binding the two tips together on the market bag? I'm right at row 70 and I may need that option due to cost. I'm disabled and money is wicked tight. Thank you in advance! I plan to finish this asap for a Christmas gift so I can start on the next one.
Can this bag be made with wool and nylon yarn?
Would it be possible to use a more bulky yarn with this project to make it less holey? I'm wanting to make my friend more of a purse and not a Farmers market bag. Thanks in advance!
What would the purpose of the bag be? I would imagine some of it is holey, so it may be not be good for a ladies purse. Does that make sense? Just wondering what the bag could be used for.
It’s a Market Bag to be used at the Farmers Market- you fill it with produce.
@@LoomaHat oh! Ok, thank you!
Dumb question-Could this be done on a larger peg loom?
If you lose count of how many rows you've done, how do you count them? In my head I have example 15, but when I count them, I have maybe 7.
I really wish you would have shown us how to do option two. What is a draw string cast on/off?
Hi Geri- I understand that as a viewer it is difficult to comprehend that making a video like this takes weeks - giving options or saying alternative techniques takes a minute but "showing" can add 10-15 or ever 20 extra hours of work between knitting, filming and editing. If Google drawstring cast-on and the cast-off on the loom there are lots of videos on how to do it. I have a few.
What yarn brand did you use? The brown is it a worsted?
Hi - click the link for a list of supplies
I'm new to loom knitting and don't know how to count the rows for this. How do I know I've reached 75 rows? How many inches long should this be?
I tried making this, did the amount of rows according to the he video but it was shorter and did not close correctly. Do you know how long it should be in inches rather than rows to make sure it comes out correctly?
I started this and forgot to mark down my rows. Is there a way to count them? Having fun doing it!!
Hi Peggy - you will see that the stitches create squares just count the square on the edges - that will give you a row count - and don't sweat the numbers - it's not that kind of pattern - the shape (long rectangular) is what's important .
Hi Denise! If I use a 36 peg loom how many rows should I knit? Thanks!😀
Hi - I haven’t tested this pattern on a 36 peg. I recommend a 35 peg cast-on (odd number) and then just start knitting until you have a rectangle then cast-off and fold the fabric into the purse.
LoomaHat.com My mistake, 35 peg rather! Thank you for your help. I will attempt it again and see how it goes! Thank you for your quick reply. Thanks so much for all your work on the videos etc. It is much aopreciated!😀
Hi, if I'm working with a thicker yarn. How can i adjust the number of lines to Cm? What is the length of 75 rows? Thanks
Love it!
Thank you Margie
I totally lost count of rows. 😭. About how long is the project before sewing?
Hi I was wondering what color yarn and the name of it?
There should be a link in the description for a supply list.
I’m sorry but the sewing part went way too fast for me. Where do you start sewing? Would it be possible to show on the paper which edges to sew first because it seems you need to keep the tips open for the rope. And sew them last. But my openings for the tips are on the outside of the bag. And I don’t understand when you reverse it. Please help as I now have 75 rows and a long rectangle. And where is the opening to put stuff in.? And I don’t get what you did for the second option.
Denise, I am doing the folding part but my material is no way near as long as your is and it's not folding right. I used the 41 peg and I did 75 rows. Help...
Hi Renee - it doesn't need to be exact as long as the shape is correct. So it shouldn't be square - it should be rectangular - if it is - then try folding a small rectangular piece of paper to make sure you got the technique. If you overthink it you'll get mess up
I had a similar problem. My rectangle definitely didn't come out long enough in proportion to the width. LOL. I looked it up via Google, and it looks like your rectangle needs to measure 3x as long as it is wide. I'll be giving it another try soon! Love the pattern, the stitch, and my pretty pretty bag!
Is it possible to do 78 rows to change colors to use 6 different colors? So 13 rows each color? Is that doable with this project?
Color has no effect on the finish product so any combination is fine
What is purpose of floss in project ?
Adding a splash of color and strength
Mine came out about 18” wide and 60” long. This seems to be too long. I bought your pdf hoping there was a better explanation for the sewing. If anyone has a suggestion or can show me where to sew and where to add the rope I would appreciate it.
I have to assume your measurements are before folding. Watch the video completely-and finish the project completely-things are not always as they “seem”
@@LoomaHat Thank you for your reply. Yes, that's before folding. I have watched the video numerous times all the way through. What I don't understand is when you start to sew you say go to the very tip, but I don't understand where that is. Is it bottom corner and you sew up at a diagonal? It's hard to see in the video because it's so close up.
💕
What of you not have 41 peg Loom can you use a 36 Loom on that page you got on TH-cam?
Hi Betty - you can but it would give you a smaller bag
working on this project now. Using tally marks on a piece of paper to keep count because there is no way I would be able to keep my place when counting rows lol.
My friend - we have to use whichever tools work best ! 😊
2:20. MOCK MESH STITCH
I get15 rows then I look that the loom work & find worg how can I fix it
Yes, I just went to pinterest to get dimensions to make one. Thx I can't wait to make!
It is better done with fabric as knitting stretches.
Nope - Cotton yarn does not stretch
LoomaHat.com Doesn't matter what its made off, the each stitch gets thinner as the gets heavier in the bag, which makes it longer. I've made bags before. ... if you lined the bag with fabric its fine.
But it started out dark and ended light lol just kidding 🙀
?cm?👎☹🙄
you make no sense i am so confused
Umm origami is PAPER FOLDING not string or yarn or thread, fix ur title
I didn’t know there was an Origami police - how funny 😆😂🤣
LoomaHat.com when I search origami, I want to get origami, not yarn bags
LoomaHat.com like no offence or anything but it is a bit annoying
100 SUBS WITH NO VIDEOS CHALLENGE The bag is a rectangle that becomes folded before you stitch it to make a bag. Origami is a shape (yes of paper usually) folded to make an object. Origami is an apt title considering its inspired by origami and the techniques you’d use with traditional paper origami just using fabric
@@LoomaHat That's it. You're under arrest Denise. That'll teach you to be open-minded and creative, young lady.
