- In this video I will show you how to make a soap sack using a 24 peg loom. I was in search for items to knit for charity and found SOAP S.A.C.K. !! So, I messaged the owner of the organization to ask if I could make a loom knitting video to help support SOAP S.A.C.K.
In case you are wonder S.A.C.K. stands for Support a Community with Kindness.
Here is their website so you can read more information about this great charity! www.soapsacks.com
You will also find needle knit patterns and a crochet pattern/ tutorial.
I am so excited to help with this and I hope you will join me to make more Soap S.A.C.K.S.

Thank you so much for making this video! I follow the Soap S.A.C.K page on facebook and have been trying to figure out how I could loom knit them! Now I know! Thanks again!
Kristine Naracon I’m so glad!! Tomorrow there will be a new video on how to do the basic bind off with this project in case you like that bind off better! 🙂
Thank you Gina I was so looking for something like this as a gift and for myself!! Again thank you!!
Awe! Thank you for watching! I also have another video with a different / tighter bind off and I am making an update to another soap sack video... coming soon!! 🙂❤️
Great video. I am so excited to learn about the Soap Sack website. I donate to all of the places mentioned on where to donate them mentioned on their website. I have a large order of yarn coming any day as I get ready to start my donation looming, usually hats and scarves for adults, hats and blankets for babies. I have been trying to think of smaller items to make that are nice but useful and up popped your video. Absolutely perfect! I will start my SSs tomorrow and will have great fun buying different soaps for the sacks. A million thanks for sharing this idea and pattern with us I am sure the SS people are thrilled you did too.
Patty Mullin Awhh! How wonderful you are! Thank you for watching. I am sure you are appreciated by many, including me! 💗💗
Thank you for making this video! I was just on their website and couldn’t figure out how to loom knit it and now I know!
Lynn Katz You are very welcome! ❣️I hope it’s helpful. I have found I like the basic bind off for this project better than stretchy bind off. 💖🙂
I am a member of SACK!
That is amazing! ♥️🥰💗❤️✨
Thank you for letting me know about this charity.
Glenda Dozier You’re welcome! I’m excited to see how we can all help! 🙂
Very cute!!!!
Thank you so much for watching!! ♥️🙏
In this video, are you using two separate balls of yarn (same color)? If not, approximately how long should the two stands of yarn be cut?
Thanks for your question! I am using one skein the same color. I use the ends. One from the outside and one from the inside of the skein in the middle. :) Does that make sense?
I didn’t know you could this. I always thought you had to use 2 skeins (newbie knitter here). Took me a few seconds to find the inside end but, what a great tip!! Thank you so much!
Is there a different type of yarn you suggest, other than cotton?
You could message S.A.C.K. on Facebook and ask her but I believe only cotton is recommended. 💕
I'm new to loom knitting and is there a way to do 2 strands without having to skeins of the same color?
Hello. Absolutely. Just make sure they are the same yarn weight. Number on the back should be the same. I hope that makes sense. :)
Hi Mrs Gina, can you show again how to leave the tail at the top again, I'm kind of confused on that part. I really want to make some of these! Thank you for all of your help!
Lori Woolum Absolutely!! I am making a short video on a different bind off you and do and I will show in that video how to make the loop.
You are the best! So happy to see you back!
Am I overlooking it? A written pattern for the loom knit soap sack? Or is it just a video?
This is my video. I didn’t write out the pattern here. There are written patterns on the website in the description box.♥️
I don’t crochet 🧶 just loom knit! I’m going to make some to make money to save up for a trip with my hubby!
I do crochet and used knitting looms work
Thanks for the video😊
Maryann Thank you! 🥰🙂
How many rows do you knit?
Hi, Thanks so much for watching! In the video at 7:56.. 14 rows knitting 🧶 and what to do after. I hope this helps! 😊
Can i make this on mini rectangle loom n flower loom? Trying to find patterns for both looms
Hi! Thanks so much for your comment. I apologize I didn’t get a notification for it. I think the flower loom might be too little for this. But depending on the size of soap, I bet you could try. 💜
Hallo...how i make the Top of the Soap sack...the shutter...sorry my english is 👎i hope you unterstand what i mean and you can help me...greetings from Rabea
Rabea Küßner Thanks so much for watching and being a part of my channel! I have another video with an easier bind off. th-cam.com/video/asT9ieIDwZc/w-d-xo.html
Hopefully this will be easier for you to understand!! 🙂👍
Thank you so much🌹💖
Hello, Are you using the 24 peg loom in this vid?
Hello! Yes this is a 24 peg loom. :) Thanks so much for watching!
@@GinaLay I’m so sorry..after re-watching I heard you say that 😂🌻
Awwwe don’t be sorry! 🤗No worries at all!👏🍁
Very nice but it seems much easier to crochet it
Thank you for the compliment.
I appreciate you being here and watching! 😊 Some people cannot grasp the concept of crochet and have much less problems loom knitting.🙏❤️😊
Great tutorial. What is the best yarn to use for a soap sack? Thank you.
Patti DelMercado Thank you so much! In my opinion 100% Cotton is the best to use. 💖🤗Thank you did say watching and for your kind words. 🌞
I think she already said cotton in the video
Does the top cinch closed? or is it just a hook for hanging?
I am working on a new pattern with a drawstring that will close the bag.
@@GinaLay I don't see the new pattern with the drawstring to close the bag. Is that a TH-cam video or is there a written pattern some where else? Thanks!!
Did you use cotton or acrylic yarn
kathy fiorentino It’s best to use 100% Cotton. 🙂
Thank you
Cotton, but cotton is to soft for me so ima try this with the "scrubby" yarn and cotton mixture. I have to have A LOT of scrub as I have really rough dry skin lol. It works for me lmao
Do u do dish cloths
I do.♥️ I will look for the link and post it here.
Hi I I was looking through your page n you don't have no wash cloths nor dish clothes could you please do some thanks great day
Thank you for the suggestions! I appreciate them so much! I will work on that! 🤗
Can you make the soap sack on a all in one loom
Netta Moran You could make it as a rectangle, fold it over and sew it together around and leave the top open for the soap. 🙂
@@GinaLay ok thank you
I make them and I sale them.
