  • In this video I will show you how to make a soap sack using a 24 peg loom. I was in search for items to knit for charity and found SOAP S.A.C.K. !! So, I messaged the owner of the organization to ask if I could make a loom knitting video to help support SOAP S.A.C.K.
    In case you are wonder S.A.C.K. stands for Support a Community with Kindness.
    Here is their website so you can read more information about this great charity! www.soapsacks.com
    You will also find needle knit patterns and a crochet pattern/ tutorial.
    I am so excited to help with this and I hope you will join me to make more Soap S.A.C.K.S.

    Great video. I am so excited to learn about the Soap Sack website. I donate to all of the places mentioned on where to donate them mentioned on their website. I have a large order of yarn coming any day as I get ready to start my donation looming, usually hats and scarves for adults, hats and blankets for babies. I have been trying to think of smaller items to make that are nice but useful and up popped your video. Absolutely perfect! I will start my SSs tomorrow and will have great fun buying different soaps for the sacks. A million thanks for sharing this idea and pattern with us I am sure the SS people are thrilled you did too.

      Lynn Katz You are very welcome! ❣️I hope it’s helpful. I have found I like the basic bind off for this project better than stretchy bind off. 💖🙂

    In this video, are you using two separate balls of yarn (same color)? If not, approximately how long should the two stands of yarn be cut?

    • @GinaLay
      @GinaLay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your question! I am using one skein the same color. I use the ends. One from the outside and one from the inside of the skein in the middle. :) Does that make sense?

    • @sheilaschaff6911
      @sheilaschaff6911 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t know you could this. I always thought you had to use 2 skeins (newbie knitter here). Took me a few seconds to find the inside end but, what a great tip!! Thank you so much!

    Is there a different type of yarn you suggest, other than cotton?

    • @GinaLay
      @GinaLay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could message S.A.C.K. on Facebook and ask her but I believe only cotton is recommended. 💕

    I'm new to loom knitting and is there a way to do 2 strands without having to skeins of the same color?

    • @GinaLay
      @GinaLay  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. Absolutely. Just make sure they are the same yarn weight. Number on the back should be the same. I hope that makes sense. :)

    • @GinaLay
      @GinaLay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thanks so much for your comment. I apologize I didn’t get a notification for it. I think the flower loom might be too little for this. But depending on the size of soap, I bet you could try. 💜

      Cotton, but cotton is to soft for me so ima try this with the "scrubby" yarn and cotton mixture. I have to have A LOT of scrub as I have really rough dry skin lol. It works for me lmao
