Watching games from that time you see what a great passer he was. Not amazingly creative but 90% of the time it was a forward pass. Very few can do that!

The way it went all evening was: one of the backs or midfielders hoofed the ball up the middle to an apparently otherwise stationary, but leaping, John Hartson - who then deflected a header onto the feet of his advancing forwards either side of him. Like a reliable precision instrument. Just fantastic to watch it was.....
I remember when John went for a medical at rangers and failed it, then ended up at Celtic, and the rest is history. I’m not Scottish or Welsh, but I always liked hartson, still do.

I think Roy would be perfect for a big club I think the reason he hasn’t been massively successful in management is because the players he’s managed could never understand what it takes to get the most out of themselves were as top players at big clubs do
