John, This is one of the finest videos I’ve seen on swinging the golf club! Thanks for all the work you do in helping the every man play better golf. Very few of us, if any of us will play college golf or professional golf. Most of us would be content to play in the 80’s. Thanks so much!

Okay, I slowed your video down when you were demonstrating forwards the end- your impact position is money!! See, when I attempt to do that demonstration as well, my hands are not nearly as far forward as yours and I’m still scooping the ball- how can I feel like I’m throwing which - I’m pretty sure I am … I do not have a chicken wing. I’m just throwing way too early and far behind the ball.. how can I overcome the scoop release whilst still feeling like I’m throwing ? Is there any type of delay you wait for until you feel it’s time to release, or do you actively move your arms/hands over your leading leg?

Try throwing the grip of the club, not the head. Also you could throw the club farther down the fairway, rather than behind the ball. Get on video and play with it.

John, the first video that I viewed after our lesson yesterday was your chicken wing video. It seemed to be a repeat of the work we did hours before. I think I got more out of that hour than any other. Started today on our drills. Hope to see you soon. Thanks

Hi John, watching your straightening motion, it’s seems to me, that you begin to straighten the right arm right BEFORE impact, which makes sense to me. Otherwise many coaches here proclaim the still a little bend right arm through impact, which straightens fully only PAST impact at let’s say 45* behind to follow through. Am I wrong with my observation? Thanks and regards from Germany.

Jo, the right arm is straightening but not straight until just after impact. If impact was 6 o'clock, the right arm would be straight by 5 or 4. I hope that makes sense!

I am constantly hitting behind the ball. So frustrating. It’s when I go to a bigger swing when I am actually playing on the course that I constantly have a problem. Very difficult to throw the club down and hit the ball in the right place.
