I honestly bit more than I can chew doing all of that together to the point where I had to prioritize school for the last 2 months in order to pass. Thank you!

I'm a retired NYC correction officer and a USMC/military veteran. After my retirement from corrections, I became a Registered Nurse. And just like you, I tell everyone that will listen that going to nursing school and working as a nurse is the hardest thing I have ever done.
I’m a retired nurse. I love seeing a young person so motivated to save money and dedicated to helping people and using energy in a positive manner. Good job on finishing registered nursing school !
My husband has been a psych RN for 30+ years and will be retiring in 2 years, he has a nice pension, lifetime medical for both of us. You will always have a job as a RN.
What is your name on TH-cam or other social media? I’m a travel nurse looking at what options to live out of. Currently I just do tents/yurts/cabins & some motels while traveling in jeep
Traveling nurse to start your job. Gives you a lot of housing allowance. Continue on to a Bachelor Science degree, more room for advancement. Work in California, higher pay, high rent which you don’t have to worry about. You’ll be able to save for your land in no time. Contracts usually run in weeks, depending on what you choose. Hospitals also have shower areas. My relatives did that
You are perfectly set up to be a travel nurse. From what I understand, they make better pay per hour than a permanent job, so you can save up faster while checking out different places before deciding where you want to settle down.
Yes, travel nurses usually make quite a bit more than stationary staff nurses, though not as much as they were pulling in during the covid crisis. However, it is generally recommended, if not outright necessary, for a new nurse to first work as a staff nurse in the position with a long term employer for at the very least 1 to 2 years while they are getting that crucial on the job training for the exact position they are going to pursue as a travel nurse later, as you don't get exact, detailed skills training for each of the hundreds of different potential nursing positions that exist while in Nursing school. Plus, since travel nurses as filling in a need for understaffed clinic's, they rarely have time to train the travel nurses who are expected to already have a good amount of experience and knowledge about the skills needed to be able to just jump in and start treating patients without much supervision or instruction. So he will probably have to settle in some area for the next two years after he decides where he wants to hopefully land a job. But he will probably consider California as they respect their nurses more than any other state and not only pay the highest salaries on average, but also have unionized most nurses and so the mandated nurse to patient ratios are much lower than most every other state(though Oregon just became only the second state to pass a law mandating the lower, and thus much safer for the patients and also the nurses, patient ratios). So living out of the SUV for even a good number of years doesn't have to cause him physical issues, and could make it possible to save more of a high salary even in the very high cost of living state of California!
Congrats. I’m new to your channel but what an inspiration you are. You are starting out right in life. With what is going on in the world today. It’s hard to stay free. Enjoy your trip out to your friends place. Stop smell the roses along the way then decide which way to go on your journey through life.
@@conniesaratoga3194My husband has been a Psych RN for 30+ years and we live in Southern California, he is unionized and makes really good money with excellent benefits. It is expensive to live here though, so we will be moving out of state when retires.
I came to the US 40 years ago as a traveling nurse on an 18 month contract. Travelled across the US working short stay contracts 1-3 months. Met my husband fell in love and never returned to the UK. Nursing was a great job back then. It only took a couple of days to get licensed and you could walk into HR get seen by the unit manager and offered a job on the spot and start work the next week.
Arslan, you have everything covered but just in case this helps. Know that paper towel you use to wipe your face or dry your hands? Keep one or two because you can use it to wipe down your pan, and dish so you use less water. The paper towel is there so you may as well make a second use of it.
Retired nurse living in a 6x10 converted cargo trailer (by choice) with my husband after selling our home of 20 years. Glad to see you doing this young. You can save a lot of money that will bring you many more options in life. Congratulations on your RN!! Take advantage of every opportunity in nursing-there are so many things you can do. Loved the 40 years I put in and glad to pass the baton. Be safe!!
This dude is smart, and living. He's a great example on why we shouldn't have to live in the govt's standards. Congrats dude and I wish you the best on your path to nursing
"If you don't schedule a break, then your body will take one for you, and probably not at a convenient time." See some sights along the way. You will be working your whole life, don't rush it. 💞 congratulations on all you have accomplished thus far!
Congratulations Arslan! That's huge news!! That is inspirational! - (A RN who could not have done what you did ... I lived out of a motel/hotel and then somebody's floor for about 2 months when I started nursing school, but not out of a car so mad respect for what you did during this time, esp. living and studying and working out of a vehicle!)
Congratulations from one nurse to another 🎉you will be challenged on this career path but believe me when I say that it is and will always will be worth it. I just retired after 30 years!! 😊
This living lifestyle makes me realize that we actually don't need too much to exist!!! Questioning myself what I'm doing all these time. This is so inspiring to watch! I wish him all the best!
We don't need much but we don't deserve to live like slaves either. You can't have kids living like that. It's not something you should be inspired by, you should be angry at how the government has stolen our birthright to the point where this is the only option. Colleges shouldn't cost this much, rent shouldn't be this high, food, gas, everything is overinflated.
We have lives, yes and I think all lives are equal, no matter if you live in a car, a house, an apartment or a palace. No matter if you are ritch or poor. It is your mindset. If you think about yourself you will be okay and knowing how to survive will help you suceed. Flashy jeweles and expensive lifestyle is not for everyone, nor everyone needs it. Some people are happy with less and that's the true wealth. Be happy with what you have.
I am 42, a formally abused and neglected child, married off at 16 yrs of age, a mother of 6, an ex wife of 15 years to a military officer,, and now a nurse. Nursing school is the hardest thing I have ever gone through in my life. I cried many tears and went without sleeping many nights but I wouldn’t change it for the world!
Wow! You're incredibly resilient. I regret that you were abused and neglected but the rough upbringing makes your example even more amazing. I applaud your go get it spirit and resolve to rise above a difficult past. You're a tremendous inspiration.
May god bless you and your children you are a living proof of resilience and strength. I wanna ask how long is nursing school and how long for me to be fully registered nurse ?
Your observation is correct - haha. I tend to do things "my way" and my style often rubs people the wrong way! but I'm just doing me, you know? thanks Terry
Congratulations on graduating from nursing school! 😊👏🏾👏🏾 I have worked at a hospital for 22 years in administration and always admired physicians, nurses, EMTs , PAs ect Thank you for your dedication to patients! Best wishes! ❤️
I’m an RN also and couldn’t agree with you more! It was the hardest thing I ever did as well but it has been worth it! I did travel nursing for many years and had a blast! Learned a lot along the way. I’ve been a nurse for 28 years now and can’t imagine doing anything else. Congratulations to you!! I think you should make stops along the way, enjoy the process of traveling from east to west and share with us, please! 💜
Is this young man real? No safe space, no service animal, no excuses! Not entitled and great brain, made it through RN school and passed Nursing Boards. Kudos! Blessings.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ First and foremost, Congratulations on acquiring your RN. Having said that, I would advise you to get your BSN degree, simply because wherever you work the institution will always think of you first when they are ready to promote you as you go up the ladder. Furthermore, you can get your BSN online and the best thing is that you don't have to retake your RN boards. I been following you from the beginning of your adventures. BTW, your self haircut looks COOL it gives you that "Marine" vibe look. May you always have a smile on your face, love in your heart, and happiness within your Soul. Stay Safe & Healthy... Abrazos
Yessss, I found one person who likes my haircut - haha! Thanks for the advice. I see myself getting further education for sure, as I like to, as you said, "go up the ladder."
You're a real sweetheart! Im a 72 yr old granny and you are an inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing yourself and speaking so freely with us. More videos would be great!
Mad respect to you for accomplishing your goals while living the camper life. Ive been homeless and it sucked. I didn't have the luxury of having a car to live in. Its amazing to see you make living in vehicles work for you while you earned your degree. Best wishes to you in your medical career. Lord knows we need more great nurses in America.
Mad props to you man!! Been a RN for 23 years. I’m looking to retire asap as I am WORN OUT. We need more of us and you are young so will have the energy needed! Congrats 🎉
i was completely burnt out, switched to in homecare it's def a pay cut but still making 70k 1 patient 40 a week and it's simply the best job i've every had, no stress. sometimes you just gotta get out of those hsp or ltc
What a cool guy you are. I find that incredible as young as you are that you thought ahead to save money to put yourself through school and then graduated from a car to a van and then an SUV you’re just incredible.
Retired RN here. Hubby was a travel nurse and we had a 32 ft trailer. Had our trailer in a for a service longer than we wanted and used our Expedition to stay in for two weeks. I remember hopping in the back for a rest after a long drive and shocking two women when they saw my hubby and I climbing out the back of the Expedition at the rest area. They were in awe and asked how we set it up. It was nothing like yours but it served a purpose. Congratulations on graduating and all the best in your future as an RN.
Many, many thanks to the male nurses who’ve helped me when I’ve been in the hospital. The kindest. most patient & truly compassionate nurses I’ve ever had have been male nurses. Best of luck to you!! ❤️🇺🇸
So good to hear you made it. Last I heard you were flunking classes. Nurses are very special people. It takes a certain kind of person to be a nurse. CONGRATULATIONS!!! WOOT, WOOT!!! 😘
Oh my goodness! You are so right! It really takes an organized and movtivated person to go into nursing! I've not taken any nursing classes...but I've seen my friends struggle hardcore!
Dude, I just saw one of your videos for the first time like two weeks ago, and already here you are graduating. I just wanted to tell you, human to human, good job man. Congratulations. You're definitely not living in a car forever. You're ingenious enough that you're going to have the most impressive pad one day, with an actual kitchen and bed. Maybe a giant garden and some sheep. There are instances in life that I see people and I think, "I really want them to have the best life". You're one of those people. Good luck to you, man. You're a prime representative of our species. I do have one question: Have you ever told your colleagues what you do or how you live, or even like invited them to see it for themselves, or are you just really personal about it? I'm just curious.
Watching you’re video’s it reminded me of a guy I worked with, a freelance radiology tech. He worked nights on the weekend. The hospital allowed him to sleep in the hospital parking lot at the back of the hospital. Do hospitals in the US allow you to do that?
@@gr8macaw1 Hospitals have cars parked in the lots 24/7 - both employees as well as relatives of patients. Likely they would never notice if you left your shift at night and didn't drive away. You could always ask but that would alert them. Get friendly with the hospital security staff. I had a friend whose employer loved that he was parked out back - he was on call for emergencies of all kinds (tech work). Gyms (as well as the hospital itself) are sometimes open 24 hours a day, to shower, exercise, etc. Of course bigger cities have all night long restaurants. If you plan ahead and make use of lots of batteries and solar, this is very viable. It was my Plan B if I ever became homeless. By the way, most hospital employees are paid VERY well; lots of times the shifts are 12 on, 12 off, 3 or 4 day weeks. Lots of free time. Saving money like this you could retire at age 35 or 40, easily.
I just found your videos today. I'm really enjoying your clever setups, both in the Chevy now and the car before. I had one suggestion for you. I saw in another van lifer's videos that she cleaned dishes by wiping the food off, then spraying each item from a spray bottle using white vinegar and water and wiping them off thoroughly. The white vinegar not only helps remove any leftover bacteria from meat, fish, eggs, etc., but it helps remove the odors after cooking. It's cheap, too. I would get a jug and also a small bottle. That way you're not always running out. You can keep the small bottle handy near where you use it, but stow the jug away somewhere less accessible. Don't worry...when you clean or disinfect with it, the vinegar small disapates quickly. Off topic, but I did notice a satisfied, proud smile in your clip of Graduation Day. You repressed it, but you should be proud. You're a very accomplished, motivated person. Also, I think that the reason cops, etc., don't harass you is that you keep your vehicle and yourself so neat. I think some folks throw appearances out the window, and opt for a scruffy bohemian look and it draws bad attention. It's just as easy to dress neatly, even from a thrift store, and comb your hair. I remember a homeless woman in the Midtown area of our city who I didn't really realize was homeless for a while because she was always so neat with her appearance. She didn't carry a million scruffy bags, but just one neat tote with a few simple pieces of clothing that could all be mixed and matched...and a large spiral-bound notebook and pen. I only figured out she was homeless when I saw that she consistently rotated through a few key places where one could sit undisturbed in public, with occasional breaks getting on and off the city bus. Anyway...enjoying your channel!😊
I’ve been watching you for a bit and seeing you earn your nursing degree is incredible. I am so excited and proud of you. My mom's a RN and she always talks highly about traveling nurses. I'm not too familiar with it, but perhaps that's a path you can take in the future, as it combines traveling and nursing.
I came from the video of you in the camero where you wished for a fridge to store your creamer... look at you now! I also am finishing up my first year as a RN so big congratulations for you... It has been extremely difficult indeed lol
Just a note, even if you use a monoxide alarm, please try to have a window somewhat open for air to easily renovate, also I would suggest you make a "cover" to put on top of your firing pan so you will not end up with grease all over the vehicle, you can make a square out of wood, with one side open and a small hole for air and even use a tube to redirect the cooking air to a window opening.
Arslan, you are an amazing person! You are living like no one else today, so you can live like no one else tomorrow! Great job getting your RN and keeping the humble lifestyle yet still finding time to edit/post these amazing videos! You sir are the PROOF that anyone can make a good life if they put their mind to it! Love the videos and thank you for sharing along the way, GREAT JOB!!
Dude you are a huge inspiration for me. I am a nursing student and work part time. Plus my gf works full time as a CNA while she goes for her LPN. We’re busy all the time with school because it’s no joke. But if you really dedicate yourself to it it’s not as tough as some people may think. But it takes actual dedication to pass.
Aww Congratulations sweetheart. I know how terribly hard and stressful being on nursing school can be. I completed my degree in 1987 with 2 small boys and single. After almost 37 years I'm planning my retirement at my 40th year. I've never worried about being employed and neither will you. Bless you, you seem so chilled, go look at land in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, cheap and plenty of great land. Best wishes my dear.
@@chance2756 Well in the 80s, 90s when we were attending college we didn't have all the excess that students do today. I remember we attended our classes , actually we were taught how too save money and we shared. These colleges have to pay for all the extras like sport's, huge gathering spaces, those big buildings cost big money.
When i think it could be difficult to fall asleep i love turn on some audio books with my favourite voice actor. Makes falling asleep often much easyer
seriously bro. Your amazing. school, registered nurse, living in a vehicle and enjoying it, you made me admire & respect you so much your an inspiration. I hope i can be at least half as determined as you are.👏🤜
Congratulations you did it! 🎉 It's impressive on how you live on your own and you pushed through nursing like that. I'm in nursing school right now, Its tuff, and I can't wait till I finish. You're motivating. 😊
I love how you added an uncut section at the end of the video. It adds another authentic layer to your daily living videos while adding a white-noise/ASMR touch! Congrats on your degree Arslan!!
Definitely do stops in big cities! I think it would be great to see your thoughts on them and how you have to adapt your living style to each new city. And I also think you should enjoy your cross-country road trip. See the sights, enjoy the local food, etc.
Congratulations on your RN degree! I’m a retired RN after 30 years! It was the hardest degree and hardest career, but I couldn’t imagine anything else!! My only advice is take care of yourself first before you can care for others! Please even on your worst days, please treat your patients like you would want to be treated. ❤🙏
So inspirational Arslan, I would advise you to do more unedited footage of long footages or even try live streams. I’m sure ppl would love watching you 24/7 lol. Also make sure to pray often my bro. Hope to see more longer videos from you soon. Take care.😊
I have to have white noise as well. For me, my mind is always on and busy, white noise drowns it out so I can quit thinking and planning and always being too busy and finally get rest at night. Kudo's to you and your achievements. Inspiring. Love all your electronics and planning. Being rent free and achieving your goals is going to be huge in your future. Cheering for you and impressed!
Personally i also enjoy white noise, especially when it rains. When it is silent im usually just thinking, plus you never know when you will hear a loud sound that wakes you up. I basically just have my fans on and music playing quietly.

Congratulations on your nursing degree AND doing it while living in a vehicle! Safe travels on your trip to Vegas, but keep in mind the heat you will encounter there while living in your SUV. Temps reach over 100° pretty regularly. Consider a cooler climate if you want to continue living in your vehicle. The good thing about nursing is that your career is in high demand and you could work anywhere. I just returned from Northern California and the Central Coast of CA and it's beautiful there, with milder temps.
If I was in the hospital,i would hope to have a nurse like you! I just came across you, but i can tell you have a heart of gold...God bless you young man!🤗🙏❤️
Thank you for sharing your story. I just graduated and am starting to work as an RN as well. I really understand you when you said that it's the hardest thing you've ever done. Congratulations on your graduation and nursing license! I've been an RN for 23 years so far, some times are great other times are difficult- you can have a great career, I love nursing! On your trip out to Nevada it would be neat if you stop in some small towns and do a review. Best of travels to you and your continued success.
So cool, have so much respect for you! You spoke your motto, “just out here in a parking lot, minding my own business” 🙂 Congrats on earning your BSN-RN!

I hope this keeps working out for you, stay safe out there!
Congratulations!!!! It is HARD to become a nurse....I got my degree alongside future doctors and nurses and it is very difficult! Be proud of your accomplishments and yes, I think it is a great idea to not rent and get some land!
Wonderful that you followed your dream of becoming a nurse, so proud of you! Love to see your videos and how creative you are! Be safe on your proposed trip across country.
Congratulations on graduating with a 4 year RN degree under your belt. A new career in a field that definitely will not face any form of job loss. You can work in a hospital or a private clinic to vary your work experience and make your CV look impressive. Unfortunately, as my sister found out, education never stops, you can specialize. My sister went to get her oncology certificate, and then she went for her doctorate degree so she can teach oncology. She is now happily retired and living in Texas City, Texas after working in Galveston hospital for 20 years. She left Canada in the 1990s, with husband and 2 kids in tow, to work after Galveston Texas University encouraged her. They said her nursing skills could be put to better use in a country that appreciated health care workers.

Well, then you go live in a car.

To accomplish what you’ve accomplished while living in vehicles is absolutely amazing. You should be proud of your work ethic and determination!
Thank you to ALL the nurses out there!! ❤
Thanks Laura! I'm so glad all that hard work paid off at the end
Congrats frm.a retired nurse....you are admired and blessed. Stay blessed stay safe. But mostly stay Loved
Do you have an email where you can receive information ? You have great determination and what it takes to climb to the top.
No need to rush through life. Nice to have your nursing degree. You will always be able to find a job now. Enjoy the ride!
Congratulations from one nurse to another 🎉you will be challenged on this career path but believe me when I say that it is and will always will be worth it. I just retired after 30 years!! 😊
Thank you Rebecca! I hope you enjoy retirement, this must be exciting for you!
Well then you go live in a car.
Yup
6 kids & nursing school, I'm impressed 💕
Wow! You're incredibly resilient. I regret that you were abused and neglected but the rough upbringing makes your example even more amazing. I applaud your go get it spirit and resolve to rise above a difficult past. You're a tremendous inspiration.
❤❤❤❤ u did it!!!! I'm so sorry 😢 for what happen to u as a child.
May god bless you and your children you are a living proof of resilience and strength. I wanna ask how long is nursing school and how long for me to be fully registered nurse ?
Congratulations!
I am in nursing school right now and have had moments where have wanted to give up . Definitely hard !
Congratulations on becoming a Registered Nurse. I live in Las Vegas we need nurses and Doctors here. I am happy you are in bigger vehicle now.

I LOVE THE WAY YOU LIVE LIFE ON YOUR OWN TERMS,NOT FOLLOWING "NORM"! I'm the same exact way brother. Stay blessed and safe
Your observation is correct - haha. I tend to do things "my way" and my style often rubs people the wrong way! but I'm just doing me, you know? thanks Terry
Congratulations on graduating from nursing school! 😊👏🏾👏🏾
I have worked at a hospital for 22 years in administration and always admired physicians, nurses, EMTs , PAs ect Thank you for your dedication to patients!
Thank you for being you!!
@@ll3328Home Health Care is definitely less stressful, but you can lose your nursing skills because you are not using them as much.
Thank you I was feeling low with my work and living conditions I watched your videos I have motivation to work harder rather than crying about it
What a cool guy you are. I find that incredible as young as you are that you thought ahead to save money to put yourself through school and then graduated from a car to a van and then an SUV you’re just incredible.
You’re a very humble guy, I like you. Keep it up. You’re the type of guy I’d like for a nurse. Reliable.
The struggle was real...! Haha, feels good being over with that, ughhhhhh ❤
This guys has such an innocent, kind energy to him. Kudos to you. Congrats on becoming an RN
@@gr8macaw1maybe for travel nurses
He could of liked this comment.
Very sweet 😍 what you said 💕
@@gr8macaw1 Hospitals have cars parked in the lots 24/7 - both employees as well as relatives of patients.
Retired registered nurse here! You are absolutely awesome! You got the world by the tail dude!❤️❤️❤️
Your mom seems like a great person!
Been nursing over 40 years. Worth it. Essential workers almost always have work. Have fun in the process too. Congratulations!!!
Welcome back and congratulations on getting your nursing degree! 👍👍👍
Thank you Russell!! Good to be back
you are financially fit and creative.. I am so proud of you! make more convert like yourself among young people!
Don’t feel that you HAVE TO become a nurse. You set a goal to graduate - you did that! Kudos to you!!!

Stick to it. Itis hard but worth it in the end. Go for it!!
Your family must be so proud of you but more importantly how proud you must feel of yourself! Well done You! 👏 👏👏
It’s a beautiful family!
Arslan,I can’t get over your sister, and your amazing 9- year old niece!!!!
I just wrote the same comment XD
Aww Congratulations sweetheart. I know how terribly hard and stressful being on nursing school can be. I completed my degree in 1987 with 2 small boys and single. After almost 37 years I'm planning my retirement at my 40th year. I've never worried about being employed and neither will you. Bless you, you seem so chilled, go look at land in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia, cheap and plenty of great land. Best wishes my dear.
You used to be able to work at McDonald's over the summer to afford a year of tuition, what happened? Why is nobody asking that question?
@@chance2756she didn't say that 😅
@@chance2756 Well in the 80s, 90s when we were attending college we didn't have all the excess that students do today.

Thanks for saying that! ❤️
I like white noise too, my husband hates it. I find that when you are feeling lonely, it removes that feeling.

Probably Sacramento City would be decent to live in during the Winter seasons, not too cold outside. Not affected by the California drought too badly.
Love your tricked out SUV camper and your cooking shows.
