New Sub here, just loving your videos. I'm so jealous, you are living the life! I am also an RN. I work in Cardiac OR in Canada 🇨🇦. I do lots of on call for emergency surgery and have slept in my van many times post call instead of driving 1/2 home when I'm exhausted. I actually just slept in my van in my hospital parking lot this past Friday after an emergency left main CABG. I have a super comfy air mattress and a -30C sleeping bag with my favorite pillow. So cozy!!!My van is a Ford Freestar 2004!!! Yes you heard that right, 20 years old...her name is Ginger 😅. I bought her off a friend for car camping and a road trip to Baja California. My goal is to get licensed in USA and do some travel nursing through the states 🇺🇸 Keep the videos coming, very refreshing and distracting from these crazy days in Canada 🇨🇦 Cheers!
my favorite content creator is back ❤ I got a couple suggestions, let me know what you think 1. I think you should paint the back of the suction cups. around 16:52 it looks like there are spots that light can easily pass through. so someone could look in, or if you’re hanging out in there at night with the lights on, there would be “light spots” on your window. 2. at 22:41 do you see the open space between the pipe and hole? that would let a lot of cold air in. it might be good to put some caulk, or some insulator in there
You are so talented! You're creative, handy, funny, and positive. I'm so glad you're back! You're seriously my FAVORITE TH-camr. I love you, Arslan!!! ❤
I am learning so much from your show and tell. I work in a hospital too and would love to get out of the high rent situation. You encourage me…still saving to get the van.
Don’t know why im hooked on your videos 🤗perhaps am too is fascinated with simple living/lifestyle. We really have to go back to basic. If only homeless people be given a chance to own even a small camper van so they don’t need to lie down on the streets. Wishful thinking here. Be blessed.
May God help you 🙏 😅. You never know how many good surprises God has in store for us😅. Prayers are the key Faith is the guarantee 😊 Keep up the good faith !
Welcome back, it’s great to have your positive energy on the screen again 👍 Going to a diesel heater is a massive win, great heat output and most importantly it means you don’t need to sit there idling your main engine to create heat - you don’t want to do that really, it’s not good for it. So it’s good that you won’t need to! Those units are generally a long black rectangle shape, it looks like they’ve built it into a welding machine housing, with the tank on top. If you needed, you might be able to take the heater and tank out of the housing and fit them into the car in a way that took up less space, perhaps putting the fuel tank on the end to make it easier to fill through the boot, or for example you could relocate the control panel as I presume you’re going to build some sort of unit over this, so the panel could be accessible on the outside of the unit. I would cut a bigger hole in the wood floor around the exhaust - they get VERY hot. I know you already use a carbon monoxide alarm, please make sure you always have it working when the heater is running as I have seen these kill people in their sleep. Otherwise I look forward to seeing how your build goes, the last build in that car was great!
We won't be living full time in our camper, but have purchased small propane heaters. Our windows push open slightly in the back, on the bottom, and then lock. Is there any reason not to use what we already own?
💡💝Regarding the suction cups, I discovered that it’s easier to install, and place them on the window covering piece and to put on the window by putting the suction cups in the corners instead of in the middle of the window covering. For me, I think they’re less visible and it’s easier to use my fingers to remove them from the window. Well that’s my 2¢ worth of information. 👍🤩💝
I admire your patience and creativeness. I'll probably give up after cutting out the window covers. You made everything look simple and easy. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos.
I love that you show how you do the builds. And the little tips and tricks that go along with it. Nothing too fancy, or that require a shop, in case newbies like me want to start. [edit] . . . . that is until you started connecting the diesel wires to the fuse box, lol. I'm just not an electrical girl.
Omg you are very intelligent.. As a Nurse, you can do anything.. Genius. I'm looking forward for more developments and see the finished project of your new camper van. Your home where you feel comfortable.. It's been so long that we haven't seen you. We misses you. But I am very happy that you are working now... I really love your video. See you on your next episode.. Take care ♥️
So glad to see you back in the suburban! I was sort of surprised you didn’t just use the build you had in it before, but looks like your new plans will be really neat. I’m amazed you can do all this while working as a new-ish nurse. And how did you learn all those building skills…self taught, or do you have someone in your life who knows that stuff? Looking forward to future videos.
Your installation of the diesel heater was very useful and interesting, showing how to drill holes (awesome camera placement) through your vehicle for intake air and exhaust pipes. For anyone unaware, be sure to inspect the exterior exhaust pipe opening for blockages (ice, dirt, debris). Especially camping in a snow or ice storm, the exhaust pipe can form icicles blocking the output. I'd inspect the exterior pipes frequently and keep the openings clear, when it's an imminent risk of getting blocked and backing up deadly exhaust into the interior.
You did really good getting your heater and flooring, and window covers done. You know what you are doing and very smart. I know you will have your SUV just like you want it. Stay warm and be safe.😊
going through rough times especially financially and i’m watching your videos to give me hope with my clear fate. thank you bro you do more than you realize
I just graduated from nursing school and saving up for an rv. I’m excited and nervous but I learn a lot from your videos and get motivated to keep saving! I’m typing this while I’m watching this video but I know I will boondock a lot. I’m curious to know how the battery and solar works as well as the way you use your water.
Engineer here. Painting Reflectix negates its heat reflection capabilities. Insulating foam board would work better to insulate the windows and other surfaces.
Reflektors inside of a window don't do their job properly, anyways. He said, he wants more isolation, and therefore the paint is helping. But, the best thing for him would be reflectice window foil for outside app, imho. AND, like you said, foam board inside. I have reflectix outside of my windows, and the glass really stays cool, even on very hot summer days. Inside they were pretty much useless. I learned that the hard way :D)))
Wow, this is cool! We have a 2005 Suburban that we've built into a camper. It's only for occasional use, but we sleep 2 adults and 2 dogs, and have gone out camping up to 4 days (we plan longer trips next year). Our layout is similar to yours (kitchen behind the front seats, fold-up mattresses in the back with platform extensions to get full length at night, solar panels). We added wall storage on one side of the back, similar to Suboverland's side storage. We permanently blocked one door so we could add another kitchen cabinet (and we've found there's a lot of storage for flatter things just inside that door, hanging off the back of that cabinet). We don't have adequate heat, for winter camping so I'm interested to see how the diesel heater works out for you.
Sure missed your videos. I'm so glad you are back. Can't wait to see your next video. This is going to be your best build yet. Thanks for taking us along with you.
I think this was truly your MOST real video yet, in the sense that you didnt try to make things too glamorous or cheesy but instead you talked about some good and some bad and then you proceeded to build your camper the way only you would build it, hunched over in a tiny space just winging it with your bare hands! This video was fantastic.
So great to see you again! Relieved you got a job and a safe parking place for the foreseeable future. Really cool to see your floor plan and VERY happy you got a space for your portable toilet! Hope the heater set up will work great and safe for you!
So happy to see you back, love the idea of rebuilding your camper. Looks like a great plan, looking forward to seeing the progress. You’re such an inspiration, thanks for sharing with us.
So good to see you back bud, what a great philosophy and attitude, you never gave up on your truck so pleased, you are an inspiration. With good wishes from Scotland. Harry
Very funny in the ending there. It's good to see you. This video is so full of great ideas and you're doing an awesome job. It's a good idea right now, I'm sure you know what the housing market looks like. Glad you have a good place to park, the northeast is terrible for that.
Hello Arslan, I came across your videos while looking at overseas people (mainly South Korea & Japan) who embrace this type of lifestyle. There, society does not focus on following the traditional path of going to college, graduating, getting a job, or renting an apartment. Rather, most individuals are comfortable living in alternative homes, many of which are actually long-term tents with all the amenities of a household and the economic advantage of being cost-friendly and adaptable as individuals now work from home, in different cities, etc. I admire your tenacity in living this lifestyle and applaud your savviness in being a traveling nurse who provides a greatly needed service while also fulfilling your dream of seeing the entire country, one stop at a time. Keep at it my friend, you're doing great!
Great to see you again, the new SUV design looks well thought out. I have one question, the air intake and the exhaust, are they designed so that you are not taking in air tainted with exhaust? Also keeping the fuel inside the vehicle, how will you avoid breathing the fumes while you sleep? You got so much done in this video, I can’t wait for the next installment. Changing subjects: how is the nursing job going? What kind of unit are you working in? Have you told people about the van? What climate (state) are you in?…. It’s obvious you truly enjoy what you are doing.
Nah he should not have any fumes because diesel doesnt produce fumes like gasoline does, and the air intake and exhaust underneath are for the combustion of the diesel so that air should never reach the inside of the vehicle.
Yeah, route the air intake tube towards the driver side (and maybe towards the front seat) since we saw his exhaust pointing towards the passenger side (parallel to the muffler)
It’s awesome to see ya again man. That diesel heater was a big upgrade and I like your layout that you showed us. How are your tires for the winter? Looks like you really take care of your suv. Don’t forget to have a CO2 detector. 🚙 🫡
Arsalan, You have such determination to make life go for you. As they say when Life throws lemons at you, make lemonade... That's what I see in you. You are amazing & inspiring. You are showing people it can be done... some sit down & have a pity party & look for a hand out. Grant you some, especially women with children certainly need the help but you are showing if one has the will power.... you can make it... don't forget to give God all the Glory though bc His Word says "We live and move and have our being in Him." I am retired & love watching your channel.❤.... The progress is amazing!!👍
Congrats, Arslan! It is nice to see you back and to learn that you have gotten the nursing position also. The build looks great but wondering what happened to the previous units? This one will be better than ever I'm sure.
I think he's keeping the car as a backup? If it's paid for it also can be a runabout vehicle since it's slightly better in gas mileage. Wondered what happened to the high top full size van???
Thank you so much for making this video! When I start my build I won't be so nervous thanks to seeing how you did yours!!! Incredibly helpful because I now know what the items I will need are, as well as, how best to install them. Thank you!!!😊
I liked your videos before, but this one is just SUPERB. Honestly, you've kept me on my toes the entire video. Excitement is a good word to describe how I'm feeling about your upcoming videos. Best youtuber ever. Congratulations!
I enjoy your videos. I camped in my car in the cold. It never gets below temperature in GA, but when it got to the low 30’s or high 20’s I use a sleeping bag rated 0 and it kept me warm without having to use the heater in my car.
You are my number one inspiration for taking the leap and building out my Camry. Thank you so much for showing me how to install a diesel heater which might be on the horizon. For now, I'm headed South to Florida Until I figure out my heat because it's too cold in virginia!!!
Happy to see you are back in your GM SUV. Always liked this vehicle and your build-out is going to be great. Also love seeing the DIY challenges that you overcome with grace. Your positive can do attitude and creative solutions are fun to watch.
Missed you, Arslan! Welcome back. Congratulations on the triumphant return of the Suburban, too. This build is really raising your own bar. One suggestion: gasket your new holes on the vehicle body, wood & carpet surfaces w something fireproof, waterproof & ant, rodent & snake proof. Otherwise, you'll have an entry point for road moisture & uninvited guests. To say nothing of the energy loss temp-wise & carbon monoxide, mold & fire safety hazards. Also, on another channel, the guy marked the interior surfaces of his Reflectix pieces w L/R (left/right) & up/down arrows to make it even more user friendly. Bc it saves energy when you're tired, stressed or sick. Every detail counts, right? Peace. 💖
It's great to see you back and to know you're doing well. I glas you were able to get your engine fixed. As for the design, you might want to rethink the location of the toilet. It should go at the foot of the bed and away from cabinets. It's like you are pooping in your kitchen. Of course you do what works for you. I can't wait to see the end results.
Bravo, Bravo, Arslan!!! You're on the right track, dude, that's gonna be an awesome build when you get done!! So glad to see you again, and that outro was fricken hilarious!!! Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Can't wait for your next episode.
I've had stoves with ovens in campers, trailers, Vans etc & in decades I only used it once. It usually ended up full of pots & pans for storage. They're a waste of space & expense. How much baking do you actually do?? There's also stove top ovens. It's just a box heated from the bottom.
I have an 07 Tahoe Ltz. I’ve already stripped the 3rd row seats. I want to convert the back into a little camper type deal for small vacations. I’m so glad I found this channel!
"I'm not going to have a crib in here," 😂😂😂 Man, its terrible when you're working with software that doesn't have all the templates you need. So glad to see you back on youtube. Everything is coming along 😊
Added this comment as a Reply, the comment section wouldn't come up. Glad you are back. I had thought all along an engine rebuild would be a good possibility. I like the chevy van model, great for size and comfort. I'm a little puzzled about your kitchen layout, but look forward to seeing it. I didn't understand comments about a refrigerator, went by too fast. I'll just be entertained! Good luck on your work!
Oh I'm so happy you're back! I love all your videos, you are very talented in what you do, so smart & you work quick! I'm so glad you fixed your suburban & this build is going to look awesome, can't wait for the outcome! Thank you for always sharing your videos! 👍🤗❤️

Soo glad your back suction cups Brilliant ❤❤❤ I did my front window Velcro with no problem but when it came to working in the back they were falling off and I’m soo going to get suction cups it’s so much better. I love your videos and it helps me on my new journey extremely. ❤❤🎉Unfortunately I’m getting my camper worked on at the same time

I am retired & love watching your channel.❤.... The progress is amazing!!👍
Happy your back… missed U!! Glad to see you rebuilding your home & that your doing well 👏🏻 YAY❗️
I enjoy these videos of various people converting their vehicles into living space. One thought, tho, would it not be easier to buy a camper van?
Looks like he has an older one. Not sure why he gave up on it.
Easier and much more expensive
thank you for letting us see your new build. i appreciate it.
Thanks Japa ❤️
I love watching the construction. Excited to see what comes next!
Peace. 💖
So impressed with all your skills! Being a nurse, designer, and entrepreneur! 😄
YAY!!!🎉 glad you're back. Nurses are the BEST innovators❤ #WeAreNurses #NursesRock
So glad to see you back! Your videos are always such good context. I really look forward to seeing your vehicle completed. Stay well and safe!
Wow, you make it look so easy 😊
The heater is awesome!! Can't wait to see what you do next
Welcome back~ We've missed you!
I love your tiny home I'd love to live in it ❤❤❤❤
I’m a travel nurse. I have a Chevy Tahoe. I need to know how to set it up like this.
Happy to see you kept your truck 🚙 and fixed it 👍🏼
Yes used car lot prices are still way too much in NJ... Having a fresh heart in that rig is better than getting a newer vehicle
I’ve had to buy 3 cars this year… couldn’t agree more LoL 😆
Very cool. Glad your back too. Looking forward to seeing how this build turned out.I thought the last build was awesome.
Glad you’re back! Hope work is going well. Take care and be safe!
Glad you’re back! Missed ‘ya. Looking good!
Nice to see you again ! Happy Holidays!
You're a real smart guy. I wish I could have a car like yours to imitate what you do man. Keep up that energy. It's contagious.
Hello im haiken from Philippines im your avidFan here take care...😊
You’re keeping it real! Good job on your progress so far!
Welcome back! Happy to see your return!
"I'm not going to have a crib in here," 😂😂😂
Man, its terrible when you're working with software that doesn't have all the templates you need.
So glad to see you back on youtube. Everything is coming along 😊
Love watching you rebuild your camper! You are so precise!

I'm so impressed with your creativity and your skills. Your can do attitude is amazing.
