Coldplay. Clocks. It's amazing to think about how many thousands of people started playing piano because of this track, who would later go on to discover the classical greats. I still remember messing around with the opening riff when this song had just been released, there's just something so iconic about those arpeggiated chords that still resonates with us all to this day and is so unforgettable. Hope you enjoy the beautiful arrangement work and performance by J Goodwin, and hope you have a great first Monday of December ♥
Rousseau question, do you write all the captions or do the pianists who perform them write them. For example, J Goodwin wrote this piece, so did he write this caption or do you?
My dad is a HUGE fan of coldplay and this is one of his favorite songs, so ima practice and play it on his birthday which is on new years EDIT: It went well for those who asked, but know I didn't play THIS piece, just played the easy version and he loved it, thank you and have a nice day, lol
You know how long it took me too find the name of this song? Long time, until I remembered hearing it from the movie "The Wild", then I found this. My most favorite song now
This was my year 4 teacher’s favourite song. He wanted me to play it to him so badly but i never achieved what i thought was good enough. Now I have graduated from that school and listening to this brings back so many memories. Thank you Rousseau. That teacher was try nice to be and that year i learnt the most as he gave separate work to each person. I never learned much in primary school because i was quite a bit above average and it seemed like everything was repeated in class. Thank You Rousseau from creating this nostalgia!
This was the favorite song of girl i love. Just because she likes it, we put it on my phone and listened for hours. She doesn't even remember this song anymore, but I still remember every word she says. Thank you for covering it. ;)
being honest, I left a tear on the cheek. I heard it several times. It will be because it struck a chord in me that made me remember a great music teacher that I once knew in my childhood, possibly. I sincerely wish you many successes.
I saw Coldplay by Rousseau... I clicked like. I don't understand how hard it is for people to click the like button while watching a trillion dollar performance!!! Don't be lazy folks and smash that like button. Thank you Rousseau for this masterpiece and making me cry due to infinitely vast emotions I felt while listening to it.
It sounded Amazing, absolutely stunning! I used to listen to this song allot when it was first released and this really brought back some nostalgia! And I love the little mix you added!
i love how it just never seemed to end. i’d begin to get sad abt the fact that the song was coming to an end and then he’d just keep going. love this so much! 😂
This was probably the first song I learned on the piano, just the basic chords I copied from a friend at school during music class. This song stimulated my interest in the piano and made my father end up buying me one. With the passage of time I was learning much more complex songs and I never took the time to finish learning this one, however, it was my father's favorite song I don't know why and he always asked me to play it. I recently lost it due to the pandemic and was never able to listen to it in its entirety, I think it's time to learn it well and see if you can listen to it from wherever you are.
Kristian If you would read the description you would have obviously noticed the j.goodwin is playing this. And if you would look at the hands it’s also Very O B V I O U S that it’s not one of the main performers of the channel.

This song has blown me away, Rousseau, it is played so beautifully. I feel like I’m underneath the water and waves of life, gasping for breath, attempting to break through the surface. It is so moving and I’m glad that you decided to create this piano version. ❤️❤️❤️
The music of the 2000s as I see it👏👏👏👏👏. It is a pity that young people do not enjoy the genre so much today. Clocks is a hymn, it is poetry, it is an icon of world music👌.

I‘ve been playing this for as long I can remember. My family loves it and always comes the me in the livingroom when I play it. its like a call for a gathering.
That was breathtaking! I wasn't sure I wanted to hear a "cover" (it's hard for covers to capture what the original song means to me) but this arrangement is such a beautiful piece! And you performed it magnificently! It shows the ups and downs of a character's journey, it completely transformed my view of the song, thank you for this!
Honestly lad coming from someone that doesn’t play an instrument I can understand how hard this is to even use both hands, I just wanna congratulate u and big things are gonna come for u in life. Props to u, keep it up
Beginning piano students BE WARNED: This is a much more complex arrangement of this piece than you would typically see. If you want to learn this as an early beginner I'd suggest a different arrangement, as this one will require practice on other intermediate piano pieces as it has more complex technique than most beginner pieces. I'd recommend a few mid-paced classical pieces and other songs of a similar genre to "clocks". For example. David Lanz or Franz Couperin.
It’s 1:13 am and the opening arpeggios to this song popped in my head and I had to play it in my keyboard over and over again and ask Siri what it was. So glad he reminded me of this amazing masterpiece. This son will forever be timeless❤️

Now days when I play this myself since I got a new piano I just think about him. I love and miss him so much and I hope everyday that he’d come back but it’s better this way I know it. Omg my adolescence!!! I loved this song and played it on the piano when I first started playing! Now if only I could look 10 years later when I was 12.... a music Major playing the Big classics, singing Arias and composing my own songs. Maybe I should be a little less hard on myself.
I've watched quite a few of your vids and your piano playing skills are out of this world! I don't know how you do it, but please continue. Hat's off to you.☺

U too! This is an amazing cover!
Rousseau, PLEASE 🙏 do an extended version of the piano duet Emely and Victor play in the movie The Corpse Bride by Tim Burton.
Can we have more Coldplay covers please? I really enjoy them especially when you play them, thanks!
Coldplay have written some amazing music - do you want more Coldplay covers?

Christian Vennemann mine as well! Such a masterpiece
Agreed, it really heals you in some way...
Because of the nature of the Mixolodian Scale, which is less Major than Major (Aelioan), but more Major than Minor.

I really love how you take the song then add a sorta jazzy style to it. Because it really sounds different then the original but in a good way!

Cursed missed opportunities am I
