- Hey everyone! I wasn't too invested in the recent Minecraft snapshots that had been releasing until I saw these new entities. The possibilities are endless with the interactions and block display :D That being said, the first thing I decided to make with them was a piano.
Sorry the video is very short, I wanted to get this out before the updates officially release. Hence why the editing is kind of awkward :/ Anyways I hope you enjoy.

After a decade, it's FINALLY possible to make a real piano. Before that, we had to use dragon heads lol

Well for starters people have somehow already made physics, yes, REAL physics for blocs in vanilla, you can also made snowglobes. And if your pc is able to withstand it... you play minecraft, IN MINECRAFT

Minecraft map makers can take a huge W, I can’t wait to see how map makers use these elements to their advantage without having to do such complicated things. It’ll make things so much easier for everyone.
As someone who plays multiple instruments, and minecraft this is both my favorite worlds combined
i mean... clicking virtual keys with your mouse is hardly as convenient as playing the real thing
This is literally amazing, I can't imagine what else players will be able to implement into the game! In addition to the piano, I think it'll be cool to see if you could pull off more instruments for the other note block sounds (guitar, drums, bass, etc). You could literally make a Minecraft band lol

You could make a flute where the notes are the holes for example lol
ComputerCraft is one of my fav mods ever so if CC: Tweaked is ever updated to 1.19.4, I will absolutely be creating libraries for these things so you can use them, for example, like a printer or terminal or even keyboard.
EDIT: I JUST FOUND OUT YOU CAN USE /RIDE TO ATTACH AN INTERACTION TO A DISPLAY SO THAT WHEN YOU MOVE THE DISPLAY, THE INTERACTION MOVES WITH IT. just thought this was really awesome and would be good for people to know if they want to make stuff

this would be so cool in horror maps if you could like record songs that would be played, like imagine you walk into a haunted castle and you can just faintly here this being played, and you follow it and then suddenly the doors slam behind you
I am so new to the game that I'm blown away that I figured out how to use a redstone lamp, but just knowing this kind of interaction is possible makes the game seem so much bigger and more intricate than I every could have guessed. Thanks for sharing!
As someone who is a mapmaker with 5 years of experience, this is easily my most favorite part of this update. They could remove camels and archeology and I'd still be ecstatic. Formerly, you could still achieve this, however, it required armorstands and ray casting and a resource pack (if on small scale like the one in the vid). This opens up many exciting opportunities such as custom entities using ride, custom hitboxes, and textures from existing blocks (which also could be done before but it was much more tedious). This is arguably the best update for mapmakers I've seen in a long time. I'm looking forward to what people make and how they test the limits of Minecraft with this new set of commands.
Just so you know, displays and interactions are 1.19.4 while camels and archeology are 1.20

The thing is the community is shifting away from command heavy mini game servers and back to pure vanilla survival servers
@@Lumberjack_king Not all of the community, and also, those mini game servers usually run using plugins. Commands and functions are purely vanilla so I'm not sure what your point is.

The Spelunky OST fits incredibly well on every situation, and its also one of my fav games, excelent video.
When I saw the title I thought "You don't even need snapshot features to do that, note blocks exist".
Having watched the video, I clearly still have a lot to learn about command blocks.
Imagine this in server lobbies, maybe a slightly bigger version where players stand on key! This will be so amazing

you can actually get the exact pitch numbers by starting at 0.5 for note 0, and then multiplying by 2^(1/12) to get the next note, all the way up until note 24, which would have the pitch 2.0.

as a datapacker i am happy that minecraft make it way easier for us to make something for player to interact with and more i stil remember the old day were i need to use villager to do this
The explosion at the end is the minecraft equivalent of smashing the keys when you mess up. Accurate piano playing, 5 stars.

This is so amazing. It will surely lead to some Minecraft maps that we won't even be able to recognize as Minecraft. And if the entities are available to mod makers, it only expands their options and makes their job that much easier.
This really reminds me of an old mod called Adventurecraft that let map makers add a whole bunch of new mechanics and animations to the game. The mods most famous for it's Zelda map.
I can't even imagine what these new features can even entail for the future.

This is awesome! These entities were my dream entities in the 1.7 days, and although I probably won't find much use for them now, they're gonna be paradise for everyone else.

I have a feeling that hypixel will update, but use plugins to keep the old combat system
@@hypenheimer They won't. the pvp is extremely different, even with plugins. That's why players in the newer versions take and deal less knockback on hypixel, because it's impossible to perfect it.

Here's how you can calculate the frequencies of all musical notes: you just need to look up one frequency of a note like C4 (your base frequency to tune it), and use this formula: *base_frequency x 2 ^ ( note / 12 )*
In other words, the *(base)* frequency doubles *(2^)* with each octave *(note /12)*
where note is the musical notes you go up or down from your base_frequency's note

I mean code systems exist, guess you could by having the keys also activate the redstone mechanism via /setblock. probably a better way but this makes it possible

The Display Entities and the Interaction Entities are about as revolutionary to the Minecraft Command Community and Map Makers as the Setblock and Summon commands and Datapacks were back in the day. I am legit excited to see what the community can make with all of these. The Interaction entity alone is insanely useful since we no longer have to rely on Carrots on a Stick.
