I’m Jamaican living in Florida, and yes we do have similar vegetation.
I’m from Mandeville where it gets cold in the winter. We grow coffee, yam, avocado, banana, sugarcane, soursop, watermelon, guava etc….and we have lots of Bougainvillea in different colours.

It looks so uncanny to see Kenyans wearing heavy Jackets , see another wonderful caz coming from Jamaica, you wudnt find someone wearing heavy Jackets like you guys do in Kenya.
So when I hear you guys saying its seeing that its near the equator.
Only time it gets very Cool in Jamaica, is if there is a COLD FRONT in The NORTH EASTERN USA, then we will get a taste of the Cold weather here in Jamaica.
Just keep the memories alive of your brother they will never leave you.
I understand caz I lost a sister and especially around the anniversary of of her death the memories and the pain of losing her comes back.
