    There was a cult (didn't know it at the time) in South Korea offering Korean lessons. I went to a few, and they tried to get me to join their "Peace Day Festival". I declined that but wanted to keep studying with them. They stopped answering my calls and messages. I was ghosted by a cult. I'm rather proud of that.

      Or even political parties for that matter. It's a word that seems to elicit a kind of preordained single minded ideology, as if to say, 'we're a family because we all indulge in X beliefs and Y rituals and behaviours.' A family is so much closer than just an ordinary club or association. In politics the 'family' moniker is more often a dog whistle towards the actual 'normal' family, that is, the parents and children kind, but it also implies traditional (conservative) and religious connotations.

    • @medea27
      @medea27 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A cult that asks followers to bring their possessions with them & then give them to the cult isn't keeping them.... you usually see the cult leaders cherry-picking what they like (jewellery, electronics, etc), they might redistribute things like clothes among the followers, and they sell the rest. That's how the cult makes money - you'll often find that followers will sign over deeds to a house or property that becomes the cult's "church" or "sanctuary." Your possessions become the cult's possessions & they can do whatever they like with them. That's part of the control that the cult leader holds over their followers... knowing that if you leave the cult you literally have _nothing_ because you handed it all over. They scam their followers - pure & simple.

    Never heard of this group, but when you've seen one cult, you've seen them all.
    In the '70's i had both Moonies & Hare Krishnas try and tell me they each had what i was missing in my life. Then a decade later "white" Sikhs said they too had The-Answer, altho' this last group always seemed to me to be just Hippies-with-Turbans, ha-ha!
    Luckily, at age 16 i had been enlightened/"vaccinated" against cults, having read a wonderful book called "The True Believer" by Eric Hoffer, which explained to my then young and gullible self about brain-washing & so-called gurus fishing for converts when all they really wanted was to take advantage of them in every possible way.

    Oh good heavens. I just watched a documentary on this. I grew up in that age, so I do get it, that people wanted whatever we thought we wanted, peace, love, but even at 14 years old I would have been able to see through this creep. ‘He looked at me, and said, I’m your father, and he was” 🙄 Even Robin his who knows if it was legal since he deserted his two other wives and children, wife, called him a “dirty old man on a lust trip”. Which was spot on. She still stayed for some reason. It ALWAYS boiled down to that. Prove me different! I defy you. Show me one where “father” Yahweh whatever they called themselves, DIDN’T have a bunch of nubile young, Very young, women that they were banging. And controlling who COULD have sex with whom. 🙈That’s how it ALWAYS ends up. Seen it personally, those guys, well what 20 year old guy wouldn’t to have unending sex, women all so happy, pregnant, having “Father” tell them who to be with. He admitted it (just) before his death that he WASN’T GOD? Hella how so many people were damn stupid back then. And now, I guess Yes, you, “Aquarians”. “We’re not the Mansons”, but it would have been so easy to do that, eh? Especially with your guns? I’ll bet you would have if have if he told you to.

He also is consider by most MMA fans to be one of if not the greatest MMA fighter of all time which makes him extra dangerous. I'd be interested to hear your take on his story because most fans seem to be sick of his shit.

    It is humorous to me to see such analysis of crazy. This perception we agree to be "reality," is not "nothing but," but is not so much more than a thought experiment ongoing amidst a sea of background programs and alternate simulation parameters and variables. The math of our cosmos supports this. The physics and the breaking of physical laws support this as well. We think we know so much, yet we are but ignorant children, playing in an infinite sandbox. I sound just like one of these cult leaders. Difference here is I have nothing to gain by saying this. And don't follow me. Im nobody.
