    Thanks a lot for checking out our demo, it was really insightful to watch you play and it's great to hear your opinions & ideas ♥
    And congratz on this amazing OP build, Operator was already nerfed a bit because he was scaling a bit too insanely😅
    For meta-progression: the Bunker will get certain permanent bonuses you can unlock by building more rooms for which you'll find materials in the loot crates. But mainly Rooms will unlock additional features, like configuring your Commander clones which requires DNA, or getting things like a "Zombie Ray" to revive once in battle.
    Addressing the issue with some UI and figuring out how the Mercs scale: we are about to implement a skill tree overview in the Barracks menu, so you can see how some of the hidden and later levels actually develop.
    Merc synergies are on the to-do list, starting with skill paths that affect others. There will also be Merc classes that are more of a supporter type.
    And lastly, we are working on the performance already, this is mainly due to the game still being in a rather early dev stage without too much optimization, yet. But we're on to it!
    We're looking forward to sharing a roadmap and release timeline soon. And we're constantly looking for even more player feedback to make Survivor Mercs better and better!

      Game loots pretty neat so far. I'm curious as to why there's a limited vision area around the merc team though, the camera is zoomed in pretty close already. Does that have some connection to gameplay mechanics such as making the vision range larger or smaller?

      @@Jasta85 Currently it does not yet have a direct impact, but it will have an impact once we have the Merc Classes in. You could create a squad build that performs better with limited visibility, but in turn requires you to play more skillfully and reactively; and vice versa.
      Also, we will make it look better in the future 😉

      It looks very awkward to have the mercs run behind you and kill monsters from there (which then drop XP). It works fine if you're standing in 1 place, but if you're trying to run in some direction, either you have to repeatedly take 2 steps forward and 1.5 steps back, literally, or you'll miss essentially all the XP.
      This is a problem in many of these games, but in most of them, you can aim to kill monsters in front of you, or XP might drop all around you. But here, it's seems to drop 100% in the direction that's opposite where you're running to, which is the exact last place you want it to drop.
      It seems like less of an issue later in the run, but early on that looks painful.

      @@oqangex8099 for now it will come to Steam. We're trying to make it available for Linux and Mac there, too. Consoles are planned, but not actively in development until we are at least in Early Access

    Getting additional soldiers is obviously the play. They are the equivalent of weapons in VS. Anytime you gain another source of damage it is potentially 100% increase vs whatever % to a single weapon.
    Also, hearing loss is very common in the military - not only temporary shell shocked condition, but permanent deafness at varying degrees.

    Seems like the strongest general game strat is to level one merc at a time? Since much of the scaling is nonlinear, where later scaling often takes bigger steps than earlier, you'll seemingly want to avoid diluting your upgrade pool until you can put your first merc into the stratosphere? It looks like you've already got the idea of making that nonlinearity curve differently for different mercs (the crit merc seems to start scaling much more slowly than the electric, for instance, while the primary electric upgrade starts strong but actually has negative nonlinearity).
    An interesting spreadsheet calc would be to try to figure out how many levels it takes for each merc to adequately dupe the average power of a new unleveled merc, and how many subsequent levels for each subsequent level-0 equivalence?
    And I'd guess adding items and item scaling to the merc pool and upgrade pool makes that spreadsheet even more complex.... it seems like the upgrade dilution from items is less than the dilution from a new merc (one card vs 3 or 4 cards)? So with full unlocks it might be an interesting gamble to hit your second (or even third?) green circle earlier, but for looking for strong items rather than another merc?
    Hard to say. But I like the nuance! :)

    I don't see why they need to limit the view size. 20 mins till dawn does it for atmosphere, this one doesn't make any sense.

      We do it on purpose as it will impact your game in the future with the upcoming Merc classes. Also, we're trying to make all Commander traits have interesting gameplay impact, so you can create squad builds that are surprisingly OP under certain conditions. We're still doing lots of development there!

    one thign i don't like about all these VS clone games is how oftenthe choice screen pops up (also often for just minor upgrades). I wish there was more flow to it where you can play a solid 5 minutes without being pressured to fine tune your build. Like the rewards would only be given when you die or finish a map or time.
