28:51 I wasn't quite mad as much as annoyed I could understand not fully seeing it as I believe it was partially hidden behind the buff beacon But thought it was painfully obvious when you moved away
The best benefit of passive upgrades is that it does not increase your fuel drain as much. Going 3 or even 4 passives is perfectly viable with the right combos.
Having abilities you haven't gotten yet show as "?" is rather obnoxious, and kinda encourages you to throw the first few runs just to unlock all the abilities, so you can actually see the abilities you're choosing between.
I like it cus it creates a new dinamic on the start, if you plant to play o nthe long term, reading the discription and kinda going the same few builds everytime get tiring.
@@diogosoares8156 I think Wander perfectly demonstrated my point by accidentally picking up a perk that's completely useless with his current build (explosive buff passive with no explosives), and that led to him restarting the run. Would that be fun for you? It wouldn't be fun for me. In any case, you still don't know much about how good something is, what upgrades it has or whether you'd like it before using it, and that's normal. And even when the game does show you what you're picking up, it's just showing the name with no description, which I still think is too little, but that's far better than "?", and not seeing the description helps with your "new dynamic at the start" of not knowing what's going on.
@@blueredingreen The thing is that it has synergies. There are multiple ways to make abilities that do not explode, to begin with explode with upgrades. I don't think there is a single ability combo that does not work together, even if it's not obvious at first.
Perk of the character is that increases the damage by 1 for each consecutive shot of the same magazine. I think magazine is one of the best options for the gatling woman xD
Love to see games that experiment with the formula like this. I can't really claim to be a fan of this burgeoning new subgenre, so any game that tries to figure out what else can be done with the framework is much appreciated.
One thing I don't like about this game is that the enemies are just a nuisance. Since they don't give you exp to level you up and learn new abilities, they're just in your way really. Plus, it takes fuel to fight them so that's another negative thing about it. In most of the games in this genre the enemies are a commodity as well since they are the source of your strength. I think that makes a huge difference. It's like you should be avoiding enemies in this game instead of killing as many as possible. I don't know 🤷🏻♂️. It's just something I noticed that I think would affect the game in a weird way. Might not matter when playing the game though. Guess I'd have to try it to find out for sure.
Fuel depletes regardless, and your completion is based on exploration, so you have to engage. It's a different dynamic, but you cna't avoid them and complete anything.
@@DracoSuave I see, but even when you're moving around it looks wise to avoid triggering the enemy pods as much as possible. Cause you'll be over whelmed if you do. Another reason why it makes the enemies seem like a nuisance. I just wish that the enemies provided more benefit from killing them. It just seems odd to me. Do they drop meta progression or any other type of currency? I see something drop from them besides fuel, but I don't know what it is. Btw, I'm not really dogging the game cause it does seem decent. I'm just pointing out an aspect that I don't particularly like, that's all.
(dev) I cannot stress you enough how much we want enemies to be fun in an interesting way. The closest thing we have is fuel overcharging you, temporary buff, so killing enemies means being able to kill more. Do you think, like, "every 500 you kill, you get a single crystal" would be a good addition? Or maybe, your character ranks up and gets like +1% Area when you kill enemies?
Hiding the upgrades on your first run just seems like an artificial solution to a lack of content, I can’t see why else they’d subject the player to that nonsense
The game looks both different, good design concept and boring. I'm hesitant about purchasing. Maybe the first 10 games are enjoyable, but afterwards you feel like you're repeating yourself, it doesn't make you feel much character development. Am I wrong?
The feul mechanic just seems unnecessary and aggravating. Upgrading increases your fuel consumption, so it almost feels like you're getting punished for doing Waddell

Thanks for the video, Wander, that was a very fun couple of runs to watch. You had me on the edge of my seat more than a few times!
The Lucky Charm passive had a "crits explode" upgrade. Would have combined well with your detonator run.
I'd love to see more of this from you! Great vid :D
Wow this is really cool. Love the simplicity

Just a heads up wander, the run timer is bottom left
Hey man I love you're vids you give me some of the best recommendations
Nummim to you too sir.
There is a timer in the bottom left corner
I am gonna be the uhm aktually guy here. The timer is in vottom left right next to the level cap
Timer right at the bottom right... "there is no timer"
Isnt it in bottom left?
@@natanoj16 yes, mixing up right and left.... right?

Is Bullet Heaven different from Bullet Hell or is that just avoiding the algorithm?
"Bullet Heaven" is like the opposite of a bullet hell, you're the bullet hell against hordes of enemies. Vampire survivors is another popular one
Yes they're different. No nobody can agree on the definitions.

Not all upgrade increase fuel consumption though, so it's a tradeoff to consider.
getting real tired of these vampire survivor clones
