As it happens I was at the game. Bloody cold not helped by a hangover due to the OBHS anniversary celebrations taking place that weekend. McKenzies try was a thing of beauty
This is the just pure Rugby, Damian especially but all the boys just bring the Old Rugby Spirit to life here. Way more fun to watch this than some of the professional games of the recent years.
I feel for McKenzie , in every other country he would be the fullback at international level but he always misses out on making the all blacks starting fullback role.

Went to SBHS, we used to line up on the bank and do our haka (written by Steven Pokere's uncle), all 850 of us, at half-time.
Not everyone's a kapahaka performer, but the heart they put into their schools haka is harty enough for me!

Christs played with an incredible tailwind in the first half hence the score at half time. Otago Boys High came back in the second with the wind and won (in their 150th celebration). I was there. McKenzie is great but OBHS was way better! :-)
still though. Look at the size of OBHS compared to Christs. Christs look like their biggest guy is like 80kgs

The boys in these teams are mainly 16 and 17. Down south kids don’t stay in school until they’re 19.....I bet your SA school teams have quite a few slow learners who have to stay in school a little longer 🤣🤣😉👍
