If they can transfer the energy density of gas to the battery without usual ICE inefficiencies and then run electric motor, it can indeed reach such a range, but I wonder how they will do it, it is hard to make gas burning be much more efficient...
I think It’s a sales gimmick. Meaning yes it can do 2000km on one tank of fuel but you need to use the battery and then recharge the battery at a charging station or home (not by ICE) then repeat until fuel tank is consumed. Otherwise the ICE will always be running once the battery is depleted and there is NO WAY on 50 liters to get 2000km!!! It’s a sales pitch with heavy driving restrictions.
Oil is so plentiful and can be made so cheap, you could buy a car that gets 5 miles to the gallon and who cares? All this Hybrid crap would not be needed. I remember the 1984 Honda CRX HF carbureted car. It got 56MPG HWY. In 1984. Later they went to FI and mileage dropped to around 50mpg mostly due to more government regs. Typical government making problems that they later only they can solve.
I have researched this car, you can’t fill the experts. Having a smaller engine, and a gas tank that is 50% larger than a corella, a larger battery pack and lighter body construction, and BYD is keeping the range test standard a secret. The different test standards yield significantly different results. And the Chinese tries to label this is as midsize sedans but the dimensions are no where near a midsize.
The scariest part is this not concept card. BYD is delivering at the day of announcement.
Why scary?
They talked about doing hybrids
@@edc1569I think it's because the latest Prius Prime's hybrid fuel economy = 50 mpg. Whereas the BYD Hybrid Seal's 06 = 81 mpg.
Really 😮
Byd is innovative.
I like BYD car
magic BYD

Using magic?
if the engine does not have run driveshafts, transmission etc...and only focus on producing electricity like a generator it can be very efficient.

Almost every point in your findings is wrong, as in being the opposite to the truth.
You can buy a flight ticket to China and have a test drive first, then we can talk about your "research "😂😂😂
Hybrids suck. This is so 2010.
@rajb2057 the worst of both worlds....
Chinea propaganda bs
Wow that's amazing news 🗞️👏
