    I just picked up a 55R to go with my '94 vintage 51. Love these quality saws.

    I have the same saw. Coming up on 21 years old and it's running better than ever. Awesome saw.

    How does that file even sharpen the chain pulling backwards like that?

      Damn good question 🤔

      I was thinking the same thing. First time I've ever seen this technique lol. If I remember correctly aren't files made to only work pushing forward and not pulling back🤔?

    A very unusual way of using a saw file indeed.

    Have you Ever Used the Husqvarna Chain Jig ? For Filing Really Good ?
    Im All About Freehanding Buuut the angles are More Crusial than a quick freehand filing .
    Have you ever Been to Husqvarna/Huskvarna Charming Little Town outside Jönköping near one of our Great Lakes ?
    Regards Paul-Roger Native Swede that lived outside Huskvarna :-)

    First Dutch sent me.. Hubby Fuzz Keller worked with the Big Saws at Boise Cascade Saw Mill, which closed many years ago (due to the tree hugger and the spotted owl) he would say a sharp saw is critical for safety! He pulled green chain for 14 years. Thanks for sharing you videos! Hope you get 2000 subscribers

    I have never used a huskavarna but I hear good things about them.

    • @HiddenHeightsFarm

      I only own stihl and husqvarna and they are both on the same level in my opinion.

    • @rncboy2
      @rncboy2 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stihl is more over designed then husqvarna. Husqvarna is very simple and easy to work on vs a stihl that goes for any stihl. They run very good cut good. I'll prefer a husqvarna over a stihl all day. Right now I'm in the works of putting a bigger carb on the 55 that I built from a wore out 55. Has a lot of port work done as well as a popup piston for slight bit more compression then OEM piston. It runs good with the OEM 12mm small small carb. I my honest opinion I think they needed a bigger carb from husqvarna then what they used. They choke these 50-54cc saws up with a 35-40cc carb causing them to run like a smaller saw. For 10 or 15 years of life they work great for the average fire wood cutter or home owner.

      @@MySliceOfHeavenoutdoors you're welcome buddy. If you have any questions on any type of husqvarna just ask I might have the answer. Same for some stihls not all since I have not messed with to many stihls.

    You couldn't use the wood you threw down the hill for firewood?

    • @HiddenHeightsFarm
      @HiddenHeightsFarm  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have a safe way to haul that wood from that hillside. It was on very steep terrain.

  • @Tribulation_Harvest
    @Tribulation_Harvest 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Do you plan on eventually chopping that wood up for firewood?

    • @HiddenHeightsFarm
      @HiddenHeightsFarm  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I pondered it Ken. I just dont have a safe way to haul it back up the steep hill. I have a lot of other timber I use for firewood. Although it would be great to use inwont be able to this time.

    You have the horse......get it the right tool. Put a winch on that polaris and use a hook with a pulley and double your winchline back to your polaris. Youd be suprised what you can pull. Just with the winch and the machine in park.

      I was wondering that as well. I wouldn’t be able to get a good straight filing to the cutter and have everything be at the same angle by zipping it that fast.

    I'll throw my 55 rancher against any modern new saw. IMO they suck now, not the torque they used to have like the old Husqvarnas. New Chinese versions won't last 4 years
