As a novice observer, I appreciate how Alex Golesh (OC) and Josh Heupel (HC) have shredded defenses this season with brilliant play calling. I also appreciate how Tim Banks (DC) and staff got a defense ranked 130 out of 131 FBS teams in passing yards allowed and 103rd overall to man up in this one. Stats prior to KY game.
Who would’ve thought before the season started that Tennessee would be 8-0 right now? Josh Huepel has turned this program into a monster much quicker than anyone would’ve expected, Hendon Hooker and Jalin Hyatt have been fun to watch all season, now they’re gonna go to Athens next week with a chance to finish their 4 game gauntlet undefeated

The kid from Dutch Fork is an absolute PROBLEM. Reminiscent of DeVonte Adams in his ability to get off the line and create separation through his route running

I never would've imagined I'd see the day where I'd be watching college football videos and highlights after games and everyone would be talking about how good Tennessee is. I was 8 the national championship year. I got into football a few years later and I've seen a few good things here and there but most of the time it was hope and optimism at the beginning of the season before the wheels fell off and ended in disappointment. By the end of the season all we had to cheer for was if we won enough games to get to a shitty bowl game. Regardless how this season ends, it's been special so far. What Heup and this squad has done in only 2 years means a lot to this fanbase who have been begging for a season like this.
Guys it makes me sad it's been so Long and an entire generation has reemerged. The 90's was more fun than anything imaginable. I hope the young folks have a good long run and win championships.
Right there with you. I was 10 in 1998. It's crazy to think that we have only been good for a fraction of my life. Because back then it was so expected, nationwide, for us to be contenders. Then it all disappeared seemingly overnight, and I truly had given up hope that we'd ever be relevant again in my lifetime. Especially considering how much more competitive the SEC is now, top-to-bottom, than in the 90s. But here we are. It doesn't seem real.

I think Kentucky should of had coverage on #11 tonight.....but I'm not a DC. Go Vols! I've been to 5-6 home games over the years. The close night games are electric. My wife and I were there when they played SC in 2003 with 5ot's. My wife couldn't speak a word at all Sunday from all the yelling so, when we visited a church that morning, no one could understand why she couldn't talk. We drove back to Maury Co. Tennessee afterwards and we were absolutely exhausted.
It's really weird at this point in the season that defenses aren't doing more to cover him. I know it's pick your poison with this offense, but giving up underneath routes to the other WRs is preferrable to letting Hyatt keep burning defenses for long TDs. Whatever, I'll take the easy TDs all day every day.

If your giving the QB at or over 5 seconds then the secondary are doing their jobs but not enough pressure up front. I imagine Georgia will try corner blitzing- not on 11's side. The biggest surprise to me this season is that the Vols are the highest scoring offense and they are ranked 124 out of 131 in time of possession. They just score. I hope they can keep doing just that. They will need to. Next week will determine if this is for real. This has been a fantastic team to watch this year. I hope the juggernaut will continue.

The biggest surprise to me this season is that the Vols are the highest scoring offense and they are ranked 124 out of 131 in time of possession. They just score. I hope they can keep doing just that. They will need to. Next week will determine if this is for real. This has been a fantastic team to watch this year. I hope the juggernaut will continue.

People talkin bout the vols defense is horrible. You don’t win games with a horrible defense. I don’t care how good your offense is. Sooner or later that defense has to make plays.
That offense is tough with the pieces they have. Has to be a way to create some sort of havoc against it. Gotta keep them off the field as much as possible and create a couple turnovers. Missouri Tigers fan.
