    I just love the reaction to Bobby's voice from the younger generation it is shock to them that some one can sing without artificial assistance, lights and all the bells and whistles that goes along with today's singers.
    👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

    Bobby Hatfield had the most beautiful tenor voice and such control over his falsetto that he could smoothly move from tenor to alto and back again. Such an amazing talent.

    I've noticed that a lot of people that hear Unchained Melody as their first Righteous Brothers song ask where the other brother is, and that is a fair question. This was Bobby Hatfield's single. the other "brother" was Bill Medley and he was in the other songs, but most people know this one from the movie "Ghost" so when they only see one guy they often ask that same question.

    His was a once in a lifetime voice. In this song alone he sang 20 notes. He sang over an octave and a half building it the whole way. he sang the same part in two distinct octaves building to the end notes. He keeps your attention just with his voice. No jumping around, no auto tune, just voice.

    Many a young girl lost her virtue to this and other songs by Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield (The Righteous Brothers) Just remember that this was live with no electronic shenanigans like Auto tuners and reverb... This is a pure voice with a great song that had great orchestral accompaniment. Boomers have the best music ever!!! The soundtrack of our youth.

    Wow!!! So smooth. So effortless. His enunciation of the words to the song is pitch-perfect. 1965? There was little to no tech way back then. Maybe some echo and reverb. But that was it. This dude is amazing. God-given talent. Got to find out if there's more like this by this guy. I assume by the name there's more than just him. This is obviously a solo performance. Wow!!! I haven't ever heard anyone who could sing like this in my lifetime. Where is this kind pure natural talent of today? I haven't heard anything like this.

      This is Bobby Hatfield, a tenor. The other “brother” is Bill Medley, a baritone. Listen to them singing “You’ve lost that loving feeling” or “Soul and inspiration” together. Their voices blend perfectly.

      Anne Boleyn According to Medley, they then adopted the name "The Righteous Brothers" for the duo because black Marines from the El Toro Marine base started calling them "righteous brothers".[7] At the end of a performance, a black U.S. Marine in the audience would shout, "That was righteous, brothers!", and would greet them with "Hey righteous brothers, how you doin'?" on meeting them.[

  • @mrk8050
    @mrk8050 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I sang this to my wife at our wedding in 1983. She, however she said I murdered it. I'm guessing it's not a song for a baritone, she told me I was of better sticking to my drumming. I thought it was an appropriate song as I was in the Royal Marine Commandos, I had returned from the war for the Falkland Islands when I proposed, and now was shipping out to Sierra Leone two days later, so much for my attempt at being romantic. On the upside she liked me in my Dress Uniform, and having my comrades forming the sword tunnel helped.
    I must have done something write because we're still together. With 4 children and 7 grandchildren, we got busy on baby's when I was home. I served my Queen and Country for 34 years as a Royal Marine Commandos and in the British Special Forces, and then 2 years in hospital, and she stuck by me even though I'm wheelchair bound now. We do actually have a song by Queen called "Your Me Best Friend", a very apt song as she has been my best friend since we were both 16.

    This song has been covered many times by many great artists but Bobby Hatfield's version is probably the most well known & beloved the world over. It was used as the main love theme for the movie GHOST starring Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze, & Whoopi Goldberg (she won the Academy Award for best supporting actress that year). This was definitely Bobby's song as no other can match his performance - so smooth & melodic, such a one of a kind ethereal voice. Keep in mind also that he did this on live TV. This was back in 1965, years before any computer aided autotune or any type of editing & enhancements in post production.

    You looked really surprised, this is what happens when you hear a great singer who doesnt need his voice drowned out by music to hide the fact they cant sing, there are many good songs out there that are pure gold, how about going back even further, back to the 50`s and do a video of the best female voice ever, take a look at Connie Francis singing Teddy, there is a live video of her back in the day singing this, that lady has the voice of an angel, no one today will ever get near her, today she is an old lady of 81, and the fans still love her.. I dare you, This is my request......
