I know it's not a good adaptation to the 1984 animated series, but honestly it holds a special place in my heart. It got me to learn about practical effects and visual effects, Stan Winston and Dream Quest Images did a fantastic job on the film.
That I can agree on. The effects are SUPER impressive for 1999. I just don't understand why the people making this movie didn't bother sitting down to watch at least 20 episodes for reference before they started writing the script.
@@supermariof0521 Only a small few do it out of disrespect. Some genuinely wanted to tell an interesting story, and while some think they could do better. Which usually doesn't work, and to be honest.... trying to do a character that is either clumsy or dumb can be really difficult, especially if they come off as annoying.
Also at 0:49, 0:51, 1:00, and 1:09. You can also see bits of the camera at certain points. In a theater, this trailer would've been cropped to widescreen before it would be played
I find it really cool to be able to go frame by frame on the beginning of this upload, where you can actually examine parts of the film reel before the trailer begins. Stuff like the film title, "Green Band," and a small print of the Walt Disney Pictures logo can be seen, among other details.
Can you imagine if this exact teaser trailer was made today and how they show Claw at the end, and jab the original cartoon as a "Saturday Morning Cartoon" everyone online would've tore it apart with the most dislikes on TH-cam, mocked on Twitter to cancel it, and being a huge flop. Just like the Sonic trailer, Jem and the Holograms and recently with Velma. 😅
@@brandonspain12345 Or even better, like what the Nostalgia Critic suggested in his review of this movie, what if Scolex was instead a Mad agent working for the ACTUAL Dr.Claw, as apposed to being the live action depiction of Dr.Claw?

@@supermariof0521 Well, that's Hollywood tbh.
Don't expect some writers or directors to actually like said source material.
@@tonymata8070 So why are they given the license for said source material? Petty spite?

@@supermariof0521 I mean, look at Dumb and Dumber and its unfortunate prequel and sequel.
Makes me wonder what could've been had the released the original cut.
Also look at 1:46
You can clearly see an uncropped boom mic in the background.

🤦♂️ Boom mike?!
@@ogkushconsumer If this were the TV studio that made "Bolt", and they saw a Boom mic, they'd never hear the end of it. LMAO

Gadgetmobile: Good morning, Riverton!
GADGET: Wait! You talk now?! You never talked in the cartoon this movie was based on!

I grew up with this movie. I remember buying the toys from McDonald's
Hard to believe this teaser came out in 1998 (hence the obvious copyright at the end that wouldn't be seen when cropped to scope)
They didn't need to show Claw. The best part of his character was that his face was NEVER shown.
