as true fan would understand why this film deserved to be re released in its original cut of 110 minute people should show some respect of the movie and the special effects created by Stan Winston.
Gotta say, I'm particularly fond of that little riff around 0:18. I wish it'd been worked into the actual film, regular or extended cuts!

I say go right ahead! The video file is not 1920x1080 but it's pretty close.
I love the movie when it first came out in 1999 (and honestly still love it today). It was interesting to learn that over 30 minutes of content was removed in the final cut (and you can definitely see that cutting up of content in the movie). So I, like the others here, really want that 110 min version to see the light of day again. Will Disney do it? Doubt it. But if the world of lost media hunting has taught me, is to never say never.

Good that you add the theme song in some scenes and that you add some sound effects from the 80s animated series.
Although I wish there were voices in the scenes of the photos.
I'm sure that Don Adams would be proud for what you did and so do the cast and crew of the Disney film.

I know that people will make fun of my opinion, but I enjoy this film a lot. I even saw it in the theater when I was eight back in 1999. It would be interesting to see the full cut of the film.

Oh wow, this takes me back! Inspector Gadget was my favorite movie when I was a kid. It's so fascinating seeing all this now. Idk if the movie would've been better but David Kellogg clearly had a neat vision for the film and it sucks that the execs at Disney cut it down so much. Fingers-crossed that David was wrong and that there is a workprint somewhere because I would love to see how these blended together in the original cut.

I'm amazed with how much more there is to this film! It was always one of my favorite movies as a kid and I still enjoy it to this day (even though it's not usually spoken highly of.)
I really enjoyed this, and the remix you did of the themes scratches a brain itch that I didn't know I needed.

This great we already got Thomas and the magic railroad extended cut and now we are getting Disney’s inspector gadget extended cut I hope we will get the babe pig in the city extended cut some day
They really should've kept the original 110 minute cut, I would love it if Disney released it in Disney Movie Club as an exclusive release or lend the rights to Shout Factory to do a proper restoration and release.
I know this film is hated by hardcore fans of the original 1984 series, but this film introduced me to the character.
This film is what introduced me to inspector gadget and this movie may not be perfect but it's fun to watch.

I made sure to include cartoon Penny's theme song in the finale of the extended cut when live-action Penny is confronting Sykes at Scolex HQ with Brain! ✅️

Once we get back to July lets hope for more never before seen footage or new photos from Stan Winston School to Unveiled more Secrets Of Inspector Gadget i hope to see mr Dr Claw's Claw and hopefully Robo Gadget.
This seems like a wonderful project! I've watched it on the Archive website and saw in the MPEG4 files the extended cut and the VHS release of the movie. I was wondering if you would also be able to add to the files the Full Screen (Open Matte) DVD version of the movie to the files on the Archive website? I greatly appreciate you preseving the VHS version of the movie. Again, incredible work piecing this lost cut of the movie together!

@masonbates7959 airing on TV in full screen is likely the only time it's been seen in that format outside of the VHS release. I would love to be wrong in this instance! Please let me know if you find anything - message me on Twitter!

I hope Disney will one day restore the original cut of this movie for Disney plus! Looking at this video and the pre-cut trailer, I feel like we were robbed of a significantly better movie.

If I can remember correctly, in one of the trailers, the narrator stated that the United States government was the organization that ordered for gadget to be operated on. Funny thing when they changed it to a robotics father and daughter duo who happened to know their way around surgery and no government affiliation 🤔

I've considered it along with a few other films (including New Line Cinema's The Mask). Batman Forever will likely see it's full director's cut released - possibly on HBO Max in the next coming years.

As for new line cinema's the mask I say that it's perfect as is, but if you want to do that you can, just don't add the part where Peggy got killed off because it was not canon to the animated series that came later on.

How Doctor Claw won in 7 steps:
1. he nuked the hospital with a flesh-deleting gas bomb while Gadget was still recovering from his vital surgery,
2. extract Gadget's body, which would mainly be what bones he had left and the now inactive cybernetics
3. strip the now ABSOLUTELY dead Gadget of any kibble (IE life supporting parts, useless trinkets extra), use it and the NSA chip to assemble and activate robo-gadget
4. trained robo-gadget in stealth combat and how to break the laws of robotics without getting caught,
6. assassinated Brenda and have robo-Brenda take her place, using her and robo-gadget as political puppets to dellay their plan
7.MAKE SOME MOOLA!
