@@Sage_Lucas as soon as GMOs came into place illnesses like balding started to happen. The reason they made fake food (GMOs) is because during the great depression their we're food shortages so in order to feed people they made fake food but with it came many illnesses like balding, cancer, diabetes, HIV, and so on. 40% of farmers crops are destroyed each year by pesticides so we need fake food to feed people but it's also killing us
Hm, I can believe that. I've seen many studies done on all types of food that has proved it's being treated in ways that it shouldn't, but for the most part those studies were rare. Also you have to take into account that these illnesses could have been happening long ago too, but the medicine wasn't as advanced as it is now so they didn't even know about them, detected them or even know how to treat them. Just knowing about these illnesses that ppl carry today could be a factor that medicine has just advanced so much we can detect them and try to treat them, not necessarily a fact of the food being treated. That could be a correlation factor at most, not causal. As far as I know I haven't seen studies that have proven causality from treated food regarding these types of illnesses. That's my take on it. As for genes - from an evolutionary point of view - we have lost most of the hair on our bodies today because we simply just don't need it anymore. It used to serve purposes like protecting us from UV rays of the sun, wind, harsh environmental conditions etc, but nowadays it's not needed anymore so it was lost along the way of evolution.

I was first able to grow a beard when I was 25. I had a babyface up until I was 23, then it just came out of nowhere. It's still a little patchy but it's getting better and better every year. My dad couldn't grow a beard until he was in he's early 30s. So don't worry if you're in your early 20s and can't grow anything, you're not doomed yet.
I defy you to point out a man that does not have an asymmetrical beard! ... though, I might have paid a little more attention to the trimming on the day of 'Beard' video. heh Also, you CAPS LOCK IS STUCK
it's not thicker, it's because he has the accursed curly beard. A slight disruption in the beard flow will reshape it, because the hair strands will catch on to each other and act as structural support. So most likely he just brushed it into his jacket collar or something similar.
Oh man that makes so much sense. My 70-something year old grandpa never grew hair on his cheeks, only a moustache. He still has a thick head of hair. My dad couldn't grow one either until his 30's, and he has the longest hair in the family. I also have the weakest facial hair game in my whole class, in fact it's nearly non-existing. I'm 18, now I don't feel too bad after this video...
@@sound_soup I tried using it but It ended up messing up my collagen production so I ended up getting dark, sunken eyes. The universe definitely hates me.
My job requires an absolute clean shaven face and a haircut short enough so that it cannot be grabbed. I wax my body because of my hobby which is competitive biking. Body hair creates wind drag that can slow you down and mess up turns when at high speeds of 75mph or more.
I have a full beard, and a full head of hip length hair. I also have a forest on my torso, and thick long hairs on my shoulders. To all my folliclely challenged brethren, I'm sorry.
I was in my 40's before I owned a razor and in my 50's when I finally started growing chin hair. My profile picture was taken a week after the last time I shaved

I wanted one when I saw Stallone in "Nighthawks" when I was 16. I've always had a tough time growing one but the itching drives me up a wall and I shave it off soon enough. The mustache hasn't left my face for 26 years though, that stays.
I remember wanting one as a kid but now as an adult, I can't grow a full beard only a mustache & a goatee but shaving & trimming em got irritating. In a way I'm glad I don't have a full beard, a goatee is fine. Less work lol
I disagree with his assertion that if you cannot grow a full beard by your twenties, you likely never will. My beard was pretty patchy in my early 20s, but now that I am almost 30, it grows in much thicker than it used to.
I'm 24 and my beard hairs come in extremely slowly. I might get one new hair on my face per week. If I'm anything like my dad I won't be able to grow a think beard until my 30s, after that his beard grew thick and full.
Dylan Wedel That's a myth. Genes are usually expressed by whichever one is more dominant. The men on my mom's side could grow full beards in their late teens. However my cousin on my dad's side has almost identical facial hair to mine but his is slightly thicker because he's older.
At 23 I could only grow a chin strap and a very weak stache. Mine only kept getting better and better with age. Now I'm 32 about to be 33 I can grow a full thick beard. I'm still getting new hairs at my age. I even have vellus hairs that aren't even terminal.
Jaeric, bullshit. It's not necessarily a myth. I don't know the ins and outs of beard growth but I can tell you for a fact that dominant genes DO NOT ALWAYS MASK recessive genes. i.e. recessive epistasis.
i always wanted to know what if an Amish guy cant grow a beard, can he still get married, would his father, mother, and girlfriend respect him??....INTERESTING
There's a very limited gene pool in the Amish communities, so the chances of a male expressing some really, really, REALLY recessive genes that won't produce enough facial is pretty unlikely, but yeah, for that one poor guy, life must be even harder than it already it is for someone who works manual labour 17 hours a day, 365 days a week without any modern technology past the 1800s...
I'd much rather have a baby face and a full head of hair when I'm 50, than a lumberjack beard and be completely bald by 25. I know people that are like that. Its sad.
aragonaut dam that sucks i am blessed my dad is 52 with few gray hairs and no signs of balding. I've noticed hispanics shows less signs of aging compared to Caucasians
Well, I think I‘m one hell of a lucky male. I‘m almost 40 years old, still have full hair, not even grey ones, and a beard Chuck Norris would be proud of... Disadvantage, if I shave I look like 12 ;D
While genetics is what determines the ability to grow beard, I'm not giving up without a fight. Being in my mid 30s and having no luck of growing one, I've been using minoxidil for three months as I'm writing now and to my surprise my face is slowly being filled with some facial hair that never was there before, although it's still very light and thin, it's promising and I'm so excited about it! I love how it looks even with that little amount. My dad did have facial hair so I guess I do have the gene, it's just that being East Asians, we're late bloomers in the department of beard. Had I not used minoxidil, I think I might have to wait until I'm in my 50s before I see any hair appearing.
CRISPR is only applicable to the unicellular stage. So yea only for your children through artificial insemination (which is still difficult but doable) assuming that the gene/geneweb is isolated and understood that directs beard growth.
Not wrong, but not entirely right. Some would love to be born with blue hair, or certain colored eyes but those aren't useful for the human race. It's just an entertainment thing.
You can take minoxidil for half a year or so, and you'll probably increase your beard volume. I've done it. It's worked for me. I don't have a lumberjack beard, but I have more than I did before. There are whole TH-cam accounts focused on minox beard growth.
First time I shaved I was 14, no kidding, but than I decided I love beards so I've never shaved since wich was cool 'cause all the older girls belived that I was 20 or something...best decision EVER
@K.C. Sealey: oh cmon man, you know what exactly he meant... Jules just didn't trim the other side right, which makes it look asymetrical.. in other videos it looked alright.
I noticed it too but didn't bother me that much.... My friend can grow a beard but it's patchy on the cheeks so he shaves that sometimes and it looks like a douchebag trimmed beard.. haha. But I think it looks cool when he grows it out like a bear clawed up his face
I woke up today 29 and finally gave up. I said I never will grow a beard then I came across this. Thanks for confirming my biggest fear. I just would’ve liked to do it at least once
I've always wanted a beard. I've always believed them to be the epitome of masculinity. I waited and waited and by the time I hit my early 20s it became obvious that I'd never have one, a proper one. But what can you do... I still have the armpits of a 12 year old, too
It still may come! I couldn't grow a decent beard until my mid-thirties. In my mid-twenties my beard was sparse and patchy-- quite awful-- but it eventually filled in. And my beard continues to get thicker and thicker with each passing year. Take good care of yourself, your health, and hang in there! It may come with time! I wish you well....
I felt the exact same way up to my late twenties. It might never come in but it does have some benefits. Mid to late thirties you should still have a babyface compared to your bearded brethren. It certainly benefited me.
I've lost pretty much all my hair in my early 20's, at least I don't have a problems with my facial hair so I can happily maintain good overall balance.
Kris M hey buddy, Im right now in my 20s like you Im going bald already, but my facial hair is coming in pretty good already. Sadly I feel very unattractive since my hair is falling out.. did youbhad the same feeling and how did you got over it?
bukkitfan Yeah, I did feel a bit rubbish at the beginning but since I've accepted it as a fact - I'm all good. Initially I tried to find a haircut so I don't look bold but at the end simply shaved it off. Best decision ever. Out of eyes out of mind effect. :) And then simply build confidence, at the end of the day that's just hair - you haven't lost anything valuable like vision or hearing. Some people are short, some has weirdly shaped nose etc - they live, they find partners and simply enjoys the life!
On very important factor the presenter oddly didn't mention is the number of hair follicles in the head, or face. Yes, Androgen, and Androgen receptors are the main cause, however, if a particular area of the body doesn't have enough hair follicles, no matter how much hormones one can produce, and how much active the receptors are, that area of the body would still be bald. Which is why hair transplant is the only way for that group of people to grow hair or beards.
Jason Alen- I won't ever be bald. My hair is super thick and I'm a Brown Mexican of Native American ancestry. All of my grandpas are very old, yet have super strong hairlines. We only get grey hair. We just can't grow beards. Maybe there's exceptions, but pretty much every older man I've seen with full thick beard have weak hairlines and/or a patch on the top. Usually men who can't grow strong beards always have strong hairline and head hair.
Some of my friends were able to develop full beards when they were 18. I'm in my mid thirties now and I still can't grow a full beard. To me this has meant 35 years of not having to worry about trimming, shaving and the pain and discomfort that comes with those things. So I'm very content.
Im there with you. The skin on my face is stupid sensitive to razors. I can't use anything under 4 blades or I'm a bloody, dry and red mess. Not to mention they're expensive. All the effort and money for a bad time.
Just remember guys there will always be somebody who grows less of a beard then you! Just rock what you got and be proud of it. Im 24 and my beard is just now starting to take a pretty good shape. I still have a little way to go but i remember trying to grow it out when i was 20 and it was really thin and weak grew it out now and its tremendously thicker and fuller just give it time and own your own look
its not hard to acheive with trimming if you want a short clean beard, or a long scruffy one. but most guys who want the in the middle look - will have one side where the hair all lays towards their neck, and the ither side the hair with lay down from the cheek and up from the chin causing one side to be fluffier. if you had a beard - youd know this.
To answer your last question, i remember my dad had a thick mustache back when he was an officer in the military, but im not sure wether he had or even made an attempt at a full beard. I personally am making that attempt and so far cant seem to escape the whole patchiness thing. Ive shaved like 8 times already in my life from my mother and sister convincing me that the beard will even out the more i shave (shows how little you can trust women when it comes to things like this) and its still kinda patchy, although a little fuller now that ive left it alone instead of shaving every 3-4 months. Well see how it goes in a few months. wish me luck guys!
@@godawgssicem1849 Tbh, not too big of a difference. I'ts a little less patchy i guess, and complemented by a new undercut for my hair, but other than it seems im just a late bloomer. Nothing wrong with that, i just want something i can work with soon.
My facial hair doesn't know who I am. The chin part of my beard is red from my Irish side, the mustache is blonde and my sideburns are brown. I'm a freak. Maybe my facial hair does actually know who I am....

LOL! I noticed that also. I kept thinking he should just shave off the side, leave a goatee, and grow it back in.
yes!
Oh god, my OCD is kicking in
his beard is thinker on one side and its killing me
Brandon LeeTreverton fucking yes holy shit.
it's not thicker, it's because he has the accursed curly beard. A slight disruption in the beard flow will reshape it, because the hair strands will catch on to each other and act as structural support. So most likely he just brushed it into his jacket collar or something similar.
RedTriangle53 i see, still kills me though lol
Haha Yeah I know, I noticed it aswell lmao! xD
Beards are ugly
I don't care about the beard if it means baldness no thanks
Oh man that makes so much sense. My 70-something year old grandpa never grew hair on his cheeks, only a moustache. He still has a thick head of hair. My dad couldn't grow one either until his 30's, and he has the longest hair in the family.
I also have the weakest facial hair game in my whole class, in fact it's nearly non-existing. I'm 18, now I don't feel too bad after this video...

I've been growing a beard since high school. As an alpha male should.
I shave mine because I look like a homeless guy when it grows.
My job requires an absolute clean shaven face and a haircut short enough so that it cannot be grabbed. I wax my body because of my hobby which is competitive biking. Body hair creates wind drag that can slow you down and mess up turns when at high speeds of 75mph or more.
LMAO watch out, tough alpha male here
We've got a badass over here

Yeah the asymmetry was really distracting. Like, uh, trim your beard before doing a video about beards lol.
My dad always told me I wouldn't be able to grow a full beard until I'm in my 30's but this video has shat on my dreams
I'd rather have a full head of hair then a itchy beard that said i have a desent beard
true
Bradknightable I have a full beard & it doesn't itch at all as long as you wash it regularly.
If your beard is itchy you have poor hygiene
Why would facial hair itch 😂 need to wash it just like you would wash your head hair

I have a full thick lumberjack beard, it's glorious, but I'm sadly I'm losing my hair and I'm in my late 20s. Oh well, win some lose some!
I like beards but not enough to sacrifice my hair line or any hair for them i guess I'm content as well.
Opposite. I have a ridiculously thick head of hair....can only grow a goatee lol
I'd shave my beard and glue it on my head

Father, full set of hair, both grandfathers, full set of hair until their deaths, mother, brother(and sister), full set of hair. Myself, male pattern baldness at age 27. Thanks Obama. At least I can grow a beard :/
MPB at age 16. Ain't life great?
Maybe it is because you smoke cigarette and/or eat bad (overweight) these factors can contribute to hair loss
Tha Botmon They all smoked and the only really overweight people in my family is my father and one of my uncles both of whom have all their hair. So I doubt that is the reason.
Phero you just have more receptors than your family members do. Must have been a recessive gene.
"Thanks Obama" hahaha.
You only want a beard when you can't have one
@BARBATUS 89 i am 13 and growing beard not fun i youst want to be Child i can grow full goate and my hair youst stops wehn i Come close to my goate but i goues. Taht youst becuse i am young and I dont want my parents to find out
I wanted one when I saw Stallone in "Nighthawks" when I was 16.
Id rather not have a beard tbh lmao
@@tnnsboy18 Are you wahmen?
I even have vellus hairs that aren't even terminal.
one new hair a week!? wow that's great knowing I get one hair every 3 months.
I'll be 30+ when I'll have a full set hopefully
lel barely 13 and my stache grows in in like a week
WillySweet WonkaJoe
That reminds me of a documentary featuring a Taliban guy who could not grow a beard and had to wear a fake one for dear life.
I'd much rather have a baby face and a full head of hair when I'm 50, than a lumberjack beard and be completely bald by 25. I know people that are like that. Its sad.
Great information guys! Can't get enough beard content.
I got balding-ness from my mum's side of the family, and inability to grow facial hair from my dad's side xD

Minox/Rogaine helps alot for people who typically can't grow beards or facial hair in general
CRISPR will change all this
dharkbizkit that makes no fucking sense. Do you rven know ehat CRISPR is?
Maybe for your children, but probably not for you.
You are fucking right!
I would trade my beard to get rid of my receding hairline any day.

Jules has a asymmetrical beard, it bothers me so much
Everybody has a face that is asymmetrical to varying degrees; to have a perfectly symmetrical beard would be impossible for most people.
@K.C. Sealey: oh cmon man, you know what exactly he meant... Jules just didn't trim the other side right, which makes it look asymetrical.. in other videos it looked alright.
Lol, I know right, I couldn't focus on what he was saying, I just wanted to straighten that thing up
I noticed it too but didn't bother me that much.... My friend can grow a beard but it's patchy on the cheeks so he shaves that sometimes and it looks like a douchebag trimmed beard.. haha. But I think it looks cool when he grows it out like a bear clawed up his face
I wish I could grow one. Feels bad man.
Sean S. Hahahaha lol
Fleotus Bing There's still a chance. I'll get back to you in another 6 years to see how I fared, haha
Ok! Good luck!
I felt the exact same way up to my late twenties. It might never come in but it does have some benefits. Mid to late thirties you should still have a babyface compared to your bearded brethren. It certainly benefited me.
***** that can't do anything Hair growth is genetic. If it wasn't all my shaving (hoping to get a beard) at 13-16 would have given me a beard by now.

I wish I was incapable of growing a beard. I fucking hate shaving.
Im there with you. The skin on my face is stupid sensitive to razors. I can't use anything under 4 blades or I'm a bloody, dry and red mess. Not to mention they're expensive. All the effort and money for a bad time.

its not hard to acheive with trimming if you want a short clean beard, or a long scruffy one. but most guys who want the in the middle look - will have one side where the hair all lays towards their neck, and the ither side the hair with lay down from the cheek and up from the chin causing one side to be fluffier. if you had a beard - youd know this.
