Id love to see a video from start to finish. From box to inside ring engraving. Im new to ring making but im considering getting a laser but im not the most tech savvy. How difficult is the program to work? How good does it engrave? What materials? How to engrave 360° and have patterns line up etc etc.
Would love a video that shows how you go about engraving rings! I bought the laser, bought the rotary, and I’m struggling to get it to actually engrave. I’m a step follower, and I’m confused as to what I’m doing wrong here. Next step is contact Xtool, but I know you have the answers 😅
I would like a full jewelry-centered video about this that includes more on using to engrave on stainless steel. I have been looking at but just can't afford a fiber laser so
I was using the xTool software so it has a present for most metals. So I didn't look at it when I was doing it. So I'm checking on it now and it looks like 100% power at 3mm/s
I'd say he's doing the marking out for jeweller's who rather than marking out delicate markings by hand, employ him too. Also these line's help to engrave tiny line's for engravers. The one issue is are you computer savvy. My one stumbling point issue. Never too old to learn..just have to have a good fume extraction system.
@@Lightning-Man-1954: I wrote "jigsaw", but was thinking scroll saw. I think a scroll saw would be quicker, and possible more accurate, than sawing by hand.
Yeah normally you just see fiber lasers doing it. Fiber lasers produce wavelengths between 780 nm and 2200 nm so this one doing something in that range makes sense.
Is this laser workable I n Australia for 230Volt power. I already do Laser Welding repairs...really interested in the pendant controller rotary system. I made one using a stepper motor and micro pendant controller. Based on your review I'd buy the $1700 unit. Excellent video if it does everything you've shown. Regards from Down Under. Mike
There is a AU 220 volt option so I believe that will work for you if I'm understanding it correctly. Here is the link to it bit.ly/xTool-D1-Pro-2-in-1Kit Also just so you know if you buy through this link it does help support my channel. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Yes technically you could in theory cut through something eventually with enough passes. But I have no idea how many and if you would overheat the laser before you cut through the object.
This thing is incredibly unsafe. No protective shield, no fume hood. Do not use these types of laser engravers. They are not made with safety in mind at all. They don't care if you die, as long as you buy their machine.
Yes these are dangerous, along with almost everything else I show on this channel if used without precautions. You do have to have some knowledge about the machines and what they can and cannot cut to use them safely. Now that I think back to it I didn't go over all the safety stuff in this video as much as I could have but I have covered it in multiple other videos in the playlist at the end of this video. I did talk about how you need ventilation for this along with your best open is to get an enclosure. This does remind me that I need to add my list of do and do not items to cut using these kinds of lasers to the description so thanks for that.
Definitely not unless you're able to use it outside, You're the only one around it for about a mile and you never take the glasses off oh and only cut wood. 😂

It will try and come up with something to make using it for a full video 😁
@@GomeowCreations Yay!
@@GomeowCreations Great video! I'm curious about this too - will it engrave hardened steel to create texture plates for the rolling mill?
Yes. Was awesome❤❤
Hi! What material did you choose in the software when engraving copper and silver? Im not sure what to chose for 14k gold.
I figured out my own settings. When it came to metal I just went as slow as it can go with the highest power and then tuned it from there
Nice, thanks!!!
What were your settings for etching the silver? Thank you so much love your videos

I'm curious. Have you ever tried using a jigsaw with a jeweler's saw blade installed, for doing your metal cut-outs?
I haven't

Use a Hegner Scroll saw...or do it by hand. Wearing a magnifier head piece.

I kind of assumed as much I've had this question before but I've never gotten around to actually buying one try it out.
Hi, what do you recommend for actually cutting metal?
I have one on the way and will make a full video about it 👍

I haven't heard of an IR laser for marking metal

So If this thing can engrave mental, wouldn't it theoretically cut metal if you just do enough passes?
Yes technically you could in theory cut through something eventually with enough passes. But I have no idea how many and if you would overheat the laser before you cut through the object.
Saw weaker lasers in turkey go for more than 5k so i think the price seems reasonable
