There was 8 years in between RDR1 and RDR2, and RDR2 has been out for 6 years now. And that was with a new GTA in between. It would surprise me if it wasn’t at least in some form of development, but will it be any good without Dan Houser to write it..
Let's not forget the heart and soul of red dead is no longer with the company, so I'm not excited for anything even if RD3 was confirmed. It's not the same people and honestly RD2 I feel would be almost impossible to top.
If you have already completed HP1 and 2 then no need. Very likely we will just get HP2 for the 4th year in a row. They should release HP1 again at least to switch it up a little bit. We arent getting a new/3rd one though
The Story mode IS and will likely remain one of the best game worlds ever created. That being said, I kinda hope they just stick to Single player, and maybe give us some cool DLCs. (Maybe even make the MP part of DLC?) Problem with RDO is it competed with GTA Online, and they saw "Profit loss" which ultimately is why they abandoned the game. Sounds ridiculous that A company would worry about whether Cash ends up in the left pocket, or the right one... But it happens - Budweiser's biggest rival is BudLight. Maybe GTA 6 online will crash and burn, then we might get a decent Red Dead Multiplayer that isnt immediately abandoned.
Cant wait for another masterpiece SINGLE player experience. As for the Multiplayer... perhaps they'll just jump ahead to the part where they abandon the game.

Red Dead Redemption 1 and 2 had an amazing story and my favorite protagonist in a video game. Not everyone cares about Online and a lot of people are looking forward the next entry.
Maybe after GTA6 releases the red dead staff will return to their positions for Red Dead and hopefully they will show the franchise the respect it deserves
