    I have not been able to find the A-maze-in pellet tray on Amazon for a while now, so I tested a different brand, and it works great. Here is my affiliate link ( amzn.to/4blhuzR ), and I expect a video in the future.

    I have a tube smoker just like yours and when I use less than a full tube I stuff paper towels in the bottom half. Works very well.

      I've got a 6"tube for 2 hour cheese smokes and a 12" for 4 hours meat smokes.

    Thanks for posting this video. I used the pellet tube on my gas grill to make my first burnt ends yesterday. Everyone thought it came out amazing

    I use the smoke tubes, and fill the bottom half with aluminum foil. For a short cook, like steaks, I'll fill it a little more with aluminum foil. I have both the square tube, and the hexagonal one that has a end cap with the holes in it.

    I have a Masterbuilt Dual Pro 30" vertical gas couldn't control temps and fire and flare ups was a problem so one day I said enough of this shit and cleared all the junk out the firebox section including that horrible original flame pan including the iron pan everything went out and simply put my 12" smoke tube near my half close vents and not directly on the bottom of the smoker I lay it in a little grill so I have airflow all around the tube with competition pellets blend I find it gives away tremendous amount of flavorful smoke and a bigger water pan and man it's holds steady temps like no tomorrow and that tube smokes like crazy! Enough smoke to cook anything I want and that tube gives away very little heat so no fluctuations compared to the cast iron pan with chips and chunks or that flaming pan since all the junk is gone just the smoke tube below and a bigger water pan I've cranked out alot of good food ! Never had temp issues after that and still have plenty of smoke minus the hassle 😁 Like your videos btw 🤘👌

      great solution !!! I use the tubes and trays in all different kinds of smokers. I was able to get the masterbuilt propane to work ok with the iron pan mod but it would have been nice to use it out of the box without the woodchips catching on fire, lol... Thanks for watching.

    Awesome video! I have a very basic old electric and I would like to adapt it to pellet smoking. Your "birdhouse" looks exactly like what I need. Does anyone sell them or do you have dimensions or advice on how to build one?

      I have a plans video th-cam.com/video/Fbn2ODv48xU/w-d-xo.html . Currently Amazon.com is not carrying the exact same pellet tray so an adjustment might be required... in 4 weeks I am doing a mailbox version of this.

    Having seen a lot of vids on smoke tubes, i have noticed the number one complaint is that when they are laid down inside the cooker all the pellets fall out. You seem to solve that by putting something in for the tube to set on thus raising one end so the pellets do not all out.
    What do you think about just taking a piece of tin foil and ball it up and stick it in the hole to block pellets from falling out??

      I think you might run into two problems with that. 1. You could reduce airflow, and the pellets could go out. 2. Once some of the pellets burn, you create a gap between the foil and pellets. “might”.. sounds like test time.

      I put a u-clamp for pipes around mine to raise up the burning/open end of the tube and keep the pellets in.

      That is Camerons extra fine wood chips, but course sawdust would work if it is from untreated hardwood. I added the link in the description... Camerons Fine Pecan wood Chips - amzn.to/4e9WnkA

    When I use my tube in my pit boss it does not stay lit, you didn’t show your pellet grill/smoker running, does it stay lit when the fans of the pellet grill are running?

    • @pioneersmokehouseschannel
      @pioneersmokehouseschannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      the pellet tubes and trays can go out if there is not enough oxygen! I like to get it going as best as possible outside the smoker, not run the pellet smoker on smoke setting, and add the well lit tray when I add the meat. Sometimes they go out but typically I get the added smoke I want before they do... thanks for watching!
