    I’m 26 and have been diagnosed with glucoma at birth.
    I have to put three different eye drops in my left eye every day and get my eyes checked every six months to a year depending on the pressure.
    I had to go through six lazer surgeries during my lifetime, four in my right eye and two in my left eye.
    Thank you so much for sharing this informative video 👍🏿

      I was told I had glaucoma 25 years ago, and have six vales in my eyes three in right and two in left along with several unsuccessful laser treatments. I'm now almost blind in right out due to surgery failure. I was told by a guy who fixed my car about these vitamins, and for the first time ever my pressures went down rapidly, here is what I take, it's like a miracle really, but it does say in scripture God makes all herbs and food for healing. vitamin A every other day, blueberries small bowl every morning, with a few chunks of pineapple. spirulina vitamin form, Aloe vera capsules, Lutein and Zeaxanthin supplement, B1 fat soluble, b12, and antioxygen. ASRAXNTHIN, vit D and half tab of magnesium. I split them up throughout the day and eat with food. If I would have know this years ago I would have saved myself all those operations, and the pain I have most days in bad eye,

      @@aftabhussainbajeer9800 It’s a surgery where they thin out your cornier.
      If the cornear is thick, it signifies that your pressure in your eye is high and it could be very painful and your eye balls become very hard in texture but if the cornear is thin, then it means your pressure is low and your eye balls are soft in texture.
      I hope that answers your question.

    My pressure, peripheral, lens etc are normal. My optic nerve is damaged. My doctor said it's shaped like a donut. The space between the hole in the donut and its outer edge are almost meeting so there's very little area between the two. Just found this out this year. Scary. Never had any health issues. I had an eye exam today and was referred to a specialist to test for Glaucoma. The doc says she's not worried but the opening was large. Whatever that means. I just turned 56, a young-looking 56 I may add. Never thought I'd hear this news now. My 80-year-old father has it. I thought this was an elderly disease. My question is if surgery has to happen will this improve my eyesight?

    Thank you doctor for the valuable information. I'm a young lady of 34 with a 4 years old son from Morocco & I have a poor vision ( - 8) Last March, I was diagnosed with ocular hypertension & the Doc told me that I might have glaucoma as well. 3 months later (this June 16th), my Doc checked my visual field and the results show that there is some loss of my prephiral vision especially on the right eye. I still haven't had any check ups of my optic nerve. My ocular tension is 19 with the eye drops. I have nightmares that I may lose my sight. My question is with the current treatments, is glaucoma radically treated or the damage still can occur and consequently may lead to vision loss eventually in some cases? Do the laser or surgery have any complications? Many thanks.

      All About Glaucoma Pt 2 Jasmyn Polite an OCT SCAN is a 3D scan that shows more than anything else. A lab tests can show what may be causing glaucoma (root cause inflammation or infection elsewhere in the body) also gaining weight increases eye pressure. also sugar /insulin levels in the blood. another thing the liver may need to be cleaned so that more bike is produced to clean. glaucoma, cataracts etc can be a pre cursor to Alzheimer's & neurological disease. 1. lose weight 2.eat anti inflammatory diet cut out sugar & junk food 3. limit screen time /blue light 4. castor oil for eyes only NOT regular castor oil.

    Dear doctor
    Could you help me with my question.i live in Germany
    My daughter ist now one and half years old about six months ago we noticed that she sometimes drift her right eye outwards specifically when she stare at something or when she see far objects.she also rub her eyes alot and has lots of tears when she cries. As this condition was becoming repeatable we took her to eye doctor but the doctor says there is no problem in her eyes .and told us to drop her an eye drope called atropine before she comes for the next eye examination .but then in the next examination he also said there is no problem in the eye. We asked another doctor but the same answer. I guess it is after the day she takes the eye drope her eyes are becoming extremely sensitive to light and so she blinks one eye in the sunlight and sometimes her cheeks become so red .even after that the doctors say there is nothing to be scared about. My daughter ist crossing her eyes frequently. And the condition is getting worse and worse. Even though I take to the doctor a picture of her crossed eyes but as she was not crossing it in front of the doctor he can't exmaine her correctly. What shall I do.shall I wait until my daughter is big enough to explain her eye problems.

    Thank you for your informative video. My eye doctor did an eye exam today including all the tests saying I had glaucoma but not to worry about it. Isn't it supposed to be treated ahead of time before it becomes worse? I was just researching and most articles say that if it not treated early and properly it can lead to blindness. I didn't ask the appropriate questions of him today as I wasn't prepared for this. But he did not volunteer any information either. I am trying to get a tech to call me back but I wish I could have heard it from him. I am really worried. I know you cannot give specific advice but should I be worried he is not recommending any kind of treatment?

    • @annb8296
      @annb8296 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Greenthumb-420 Hi, I just saw your comment. I know how stressed you must be feeling. I was so upset after I got home. I left a message for one of the techs to call me back that day. The doctor himself called me back later that night and I asked him why did he tell me I had this eye problem and then tell me not to worry about it or schedule any further testing. I told him I had googled it and that it's nothing to play around with. Then I couldn't believe what he said! His reply to me was "I never said that to you." Omg I know for a fact he did!! He had said it to my face and he was only a few inches away from me and I wouldn't have looked it up otherwise. So I told him that and all he did was repeat what he just told me. I was upset but what am I going to do argue with him over the phone so it was just left at that but what if I had never called back I would have worried a whole year until my next annual eye appointment. He and his tech told me earlier that they had been double-booked so I bet he got me mixed up with someone else and told me their diagnosis instead. I already have eye issues so I believed what he said.
      What I advise you to do is call your doctor back and say you would like to discuss this further in person as you have questions and set up another appointment at his office and come with a list of questions you want to ask him. If you would like to and are allowed to do so bring someone along with you so you can have a witness. This is not to get anyone in trouble but this is your health and telling us something like this without explaining it is just not right. If you still don't feel like you are getting your questions answered properly then get a second opinion from a different doctor if you can.
      I'm going to do more research on glaucoma as I was totally unfamiliar with it and still don't know everything about it. Don't panic. There are ways to treat it and it's good to find out early. I'm hoping you don't have it and if you do that you get the proper treatment. Don't let anyone push you aside and ignore you. Please do see your doctor asap so that you do not overly worry but I know that's easier said than done. I hope you will let me know what happens 💕.

    • @TopDoctorsUK
      @TopDoctorsUK  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shreyasi. Sorry to hear about your sister. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to reverse the damage glaucoma does to the vision and treatments focus on preventing further damage. Treatment with eye drops will most likely go on forever. There are also surgical options such as implants to help the fluid drain from the eye and prevent pressure from building up and causing more damage. We hope this information is useful. If you have further questions, please contact one of our specialists!

      Hi Moleke,
      Thanks for your comment. Primary open angle glaucoma is usually treated or managed through eye drops, but the treatment plan very much depends on the type of glaucoma you have. If drops don't work, the next step is usually laser treatment or surgery. Glaucoma treatments, however, are advancing, and there are new alternatives emerging. We would recommend you check out Mr Sharma's video related to this one where he talks about developments in glaucoma treatment:

    Is there a test for peripheral vision I can do at home? I went for an eye checkup and they saw the white dot on the back of my eye. Either it's due to my eyeball being stretched out (I have quite bad eyesight) or glaucoma. I am scared because the only headaches I get are the ones which feel like my eyes are gonna explode. I tried to lie down and move my arm down to test where my peripheral vision ends, and I can almost rest my arm on the floor a few centimetres off.

Also, I get headaches behind my eye which also permeate up to my head. What pain remedies do you recommend? I know that marijuana is recommended, I actually prefer it, but I can’t partake due to my job. I was told that cbd is another remedy, although not as good as marijuana. I’ve tried cbd but couldn’t stand the taste so I stopped using it. It did help with anxiety, but I didn’t take it long enough to notice the effects on my eye pressure. What can you recommend?

      Hello Arti,
      We're sorry to hear this, but sometimes it is necessary to see a specialist to get a second opinion. Our advice would be to go and see an experienced ophthalmologist who has expertise in complex glaucoma cases.

    High Oxalic Acid (Oxalate) Foods and the Dangers of Eating Them
    Mechanical Damage;
    Because oxalates are so abrasive, even the process of expelling them can cause damage.
    Oxalate crystals are very abrasive and cause a tremendous amount of wear and tear.
    When you have high oxalates circulating levels in your blood, they can be deposited in almost any organ in your body: thyroid, kidney, lymph nodes, intestines, eyes and skin .
    These crystals are not something you want deposited in your organs. It’s basically like filling your body with tiny razor blades that can mechanically shred tissues.
    Biochemical Damage ;
    Oxalates also work on a biochemical level. Smaller oxalate crystals called nano crystals can pass through your cell membranes.
    When they get into the cell they inhibit enzymes that convert fuel into energy (such as biotin enzymes).
    These enzymes are critical for maintaining an energy balance and metabolic flexibility.
    When it gets into the cell, it can poison and disrupt many processes
    High oxalate levels can cause cells to swell up and burst
    Nuclear shrinkage
    Depletes antioxidants like glutathione
    Destruction of organelles
    Rupture of lysosomes leading to the release of destructive enzymes.
    Like alcohol,
    Oxalates are very toxic to all humans, we just have varying thresholds of tolerance to the amount consumed. An issue with oxalates is not a matter of an allergy or sensitivity.
    Oxalate toxicity can do a lot of harm to the body. It can damage not just the kidneys, but the intestines, soft tissues, and even the brain.
    Through its damage to the gut it may lead to certain autoimmune diseases and since oxalates can bind to T3 it may even disrupt thyroid function! Trying a low oxalate diet and any of the supplements suggested may be just what is needed for your body to thrive.
    Renal Failure ;
    Over time, oxalates can damage the kidney enough to cause renal failure.
    The kidney is the main organ focused on excretion, and the stress and inflammation from oxalates can overwhelm it. Patients with kidney stones have been shown to have decreased mitochondrial function in their white blood cells.
    The increased mitochondrial damage and dysfunction produces even more free radicals that lead to DNA damage and cancer“Results of clinical and experimental studies show that renal epithelial exposure to high oxalate and crystals of CaOx/calcium phosphate (CaP) generates excess ROS, causing injury and inflammation”
    Which is ironic because many of these superfoods people eat are because they’re supposedly “antioxidants”. They’re really causing these “reactive oxygen species” and free radicals .
    Arthritis and Joint Pain
    Joint pain is one of the most common symptoms of high oxalate consumption. Many people are unaware of how much oxalates contribute to these problems.Oxalate crystals can actually lodge themselves into joints. If you remember the structure, they are very abrasive and can cause pain every time you move the joints.
    Inflammation
    When oxalates are deposited into your organ tissues, they trigger inflammation. Specifically the NLPR-3 inflammasome .NLPR-3 has been implicated in numerous chronic diseases, including cancer .AutismThis study found that patients with Autism had 3x the levels of oxalates in their blood than normal individuals.
    Skin and Eye Issues
    High circulating oxalate levels leads to deposits in numerous organs throughout the body. Two of the most common are the skin and eyes .
    Oxalates are abrasive causing skin and eye issues when deposited there.
    Beet greens and beetroot have high levels of oxalates, which have been linked to kidney stones, joint pain, and chronic disease.
    Vitamin C supplementation - can metabolise to oxalate. The effect may be delayed as much as 2 weeks.
    Taking high doses of vitamin C supplements, such as 500 mg or more a day on a regular basis,
    has been shown to increase the risk of developing kidney stones ;
    "People" who are at risk for this problem should not take more than the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C (60 mg) as a supplement," says Garabed Eknoyan, MD, president of the National Kidney Foundation.
