So what my mom did instead of pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving was making pumpkin cheesecake 🤤 we liked cheesecake more in general, so she found a Cheesecake Factory dupe recipe a number of years ago. It’ll be the second Thanksgiving without her and the first one without dad, but I still plan on making a cheesecake this year
@@albert_obey3151 So what part of the turkey do you prefer? I prefer the dryer white meat. Hey I like my meat dry. Never really been a fan of moist chewer textures in meat usually.
I'm not sure if it's just a Southern States thing, but I absolutely LOVE Banana pudding as my Thanksgiving dessert. A smooth, creamy and delectable dish that is made even better with the addition of 'nilla wafers. I usually get myself an evenly portioned dinner before dumping half a bowl of banana pudding into my dessert plate. Consequences be damned! Bonafide S tier dessert, imo
God I love a good banana pudding 🤤 never heard anyone having it on Thanksgiving before, but I didn’t hear about mac and cheese at Thanksgiving until a year of 2 ago 😂
Sometimes, I'll be like "What the fuck am I doing with my time. I'm watching AI voice bots making tier lists of common objects of Americana." then I think for a second and go like "Nah, this art, this is worth it."
Can't wait for the Christmas tier list. Ended up with Don on most things except green bean casserole and cranberry sauce being low at a tier minimum. Hope we get a Christmas feast tier list. Or even an Easter one. They realy up the competition for main meat.
I’m part Chinese and also have some Egyptian relatives. So my thanksgiving has a lot of these plus Duck, Chinese chicken salad, sticky rice, Chow Mein, Chinese sweets (like dann tats/egg custards), and Baklava. Also common items from my Thanksgivings that could go on this list include Jello, Jello with fruit, miscellaneous cookies, lasagna, Jello Salad, Prime Rib, Wings, Shrimp, chicken (white and dark), and Jellied Canned Ocean Spray Brand Cranberry Sauce, and White/blonde Gravy
A couple of these have a bit more regional emphasis for them. Down south, the mac and cheese would be secondary only to the turkey in S tier, as well as biscuits pretty much always taking precedence over dinner rolls. I will also side with AI Joe on cranberry sauce; the homemade stuff belongs in B tier, but the canned cranberry sauce is absolutely S tier material, and is essential at a thanksgiving dinner.
As a Canadian, who celebrates both Thanksgiving and Halloween in October, you can feast like a KING twice in the same month, meals and candy with their own seperate days, basically. My family has no rules on "proper foods" and brings their usual staples to an auntie's house. Not really the "right" food, at ALL, but it is the best damn food ever: -Turkey -Ham (ESPECIALLY a slice with more fat, and more chewy) -Stuffing (seperate plate to scoop/optional) -Macaroni Salad -Potato and egg salad -Mashed Potatoes -Meatballs -Apple Pie -Blueberry Pie -Brown rice mixed with diced carrots and peas -Charcuterie Board, but with the simple cheese, crackers and such as a little snack before the feast. Add in a game of Monopoly, and the vibes and night are truly immaculate.
@@Marblesoda821You stew meatballs in a little pot over a burner. With the right sauce, it's to die for. My grandma always used to make the best holiday meatballs.
I’m almost surprised that Pumpkin Rolls with Cream Cheese frosting isn’t on the tier list. Almost every Thanksgiving dinner I’ve been to has had Pumpkin Rolls and Peanut Butter fudge bites on the dessert table. As for something I’ve made for Thanksgiving that went over well with the family, my glazed pork chops would dominate Mid A-tier.
A great list, my only complaint is that I think they didn't go deep enough on the desserts. I feel like there's more than just pie to be discussed. Maybe next year. In either case this was great
To be fair, if they wanted to be nuanced they could have turned this into a 6 hour video. I really don’t think they left off many ‘standard Thanksgiving desserts”.
Loving the tier list and on a personal note my grandma makes these homemade noodles and they are the fuckin SHIT during the holiday feasts whether it be thanksgiving or Christmas. Happy thanksgiving to you presidents and everyone watching!
Corn bread is more of a Christmas thing in my eyes. On Christmas eve me and my family would have this delicious beef stew dinner with corn bread on the side. A truly wonderful dinner to help people settle down for the night.
Excellent tier list. Would have only raised the pecan pie up one level and moved the pearl onions down one. Also would have added a lemon maringue pie to A or B tier. Otherwise everything was perfect for me.

I may be in the minority here but for a side dish I think macaroni salad is a pretty good option. Nicely cooked elbow macaroni with peppers, a little bit of spice and a pinch of salt. Something simple to mop up that small bit of space left on the plate when you’re looking for that side you want to fill you up but keep you just empty enough for seconds
Happy Thanksgiving to you too! You bring a lot of joy to me through the effort you put into these videos. I hope only for the best for you and your loved ones these holidays 🧡🦃🧡
Hey! My dad uses the stove top cubed stuffing to make a sausage stuffing that would knock you out and make you beg for more. The entire family demands he makes multiple trays of it every year. Be it for thanksgiving, Christmas, or any other holiday we get together.

I'd put Ham in S, and Turkey in A. I mean it's iconic, but I won't lie. Turkey just doesn't seem to have a lot of any taste to it. So this is the only time of the year to get any. I mean a nice juicy drumstick is always filling, but I'd usually have it as my filler after ham.
The bitterness automatically alienates half the people in the room. I’ve never been a fan of it myself, however it does add a nice touch to bites when included in small portions - like 1/2 a tsp.
