    I only used brown sugar 3/4 cup and added 1 tsp vanilla. BEST cookies ever!!! Stayed chewy for days. The corn starch is what makes these cookies chewy. YUM!!!

    I have a tip with this, DONT WORK TO MUCH WITH THE DOUGH. Some cookies might come out like a stone, thats because over mixing your dough can build up the gluten. Making it hard as stone when being served.

    I just made this recipe after failing another one. They came out perfect! I've tried making chocolate chip cookies so many times and could never get it right and I finally did it😭 The only thing extra I added was a little vanilla extract, and I didn't chill the dough. This is my go-to recipe from now on, thank you!!❤️

    • @TM-ocean
      @TM-ocean ปีที่แล้ว +13

      When do you add the vanilla? I used this recipe last night and they came out beautifully. Then we bit into them and realized the chocolate chips I used expired 3 years ago. 🤮 LOL I’m trying again today with plain m&ms

  • @tastyph493
    @tastyph493 ปีที่แล้ว +31

    Why bakers always say to not over mix the cookie dough or any batter? This is because we are just mixing just to combine all the ingredients whereas kneading takes a lot of effort and time to form gluten and make it elastic. With this cookie dough, we want it to be moist and chewy so stop mixing when you no longer see traces of flour.

    Not to hi-Jack the video but rather just a cool tip.
    Baking cookies is great, but the process? If you don’t always have time, then up the recipe, make a huge batch.
    Once the batch is mixed, lay cling wrap on the counter. Pour the batter onto the cling wrap, spread the batter into a long log, close the cling wrap. Tie the tails of the cling wrap and roll the wrapped batter on the counter.
    You now have homemade Pillsbury cookies! It freezes. You just need to get used to quantity/cookie.
    My batter rolls are about 2.5” in diameter so I cut pieces 3/4” thick, then slice the pieces into 1/4’s. Place the round side down on baking sheet. Cook from frozen. If your cookie cook time is 10 minutes you likely need 12-13 minutes. (Just cutting slices and baking gives you thin dried out cookies)
    Now you can conveniently have homemade cookies in under 20 minutes with less fuss. 😉
    I typically have 4 different variety of cookie batters in my freezer, but prefer to bake 4 cookies of each variety.
