Q: How to Get the Job When You're Not Qualified? A: Instead of defending your lack of experience, focus on discussing how you would approach the required tasks or responsibilities. Shift the conversation to the future and demonstrate your ability to adapt, learn quickly, and excel in the given role or situation.
Andy, I just want to add myself to the list of people you’ve helped get jobs. I discovered your videos before the first of 5 interviews I had with one company. Following your tips, I got the job and a 50% salary increase from my previous job. You’re awesome, Andy. Thank you!
Thanks for the great content! I have a background in computer science and one thing I have tried to try during interviews is to say that I can learn anything related to my field. Because technologies die and are born every day. But it is the ability to learn that remains. I often say that I consider it more important for you to be willing to learn and improve than to be stuck with knowledge you already have and not grow. Sometimes it works. Sometimes no.
What a great timing. While driving back home, i got a job preposition that I am not fully qualified for, and this video came up. I am shooting the recruiter an email using your tips and suggestions. Thank you so much

Hi Andy! I got past the gatekeeper and interviewed with the hiring manager last week for a lead role, but I did not land the job. I work in the insurance sector helping clients with their business insurance needs. The education section in my resume does not include a degree, but I’ve spent a considerable amount of time working on obtaining designations/certificates for the insurance industry. I am currently working on obtaining a college level certification and was wondering if you could do a clip on how to highlight this on your resume template or is this best addressed during the interview process. I feel like not having a degree maybe a hindrance on my resume and I am trying to figure out how to best address this. On a side note, the requirement to have a degree is slowly changing in the industry, but I think for the higher roles over $100k some companies prefer the degree over my 25 years of experience. Thanks for your help in advance.

This is older, but I had the same thing happen. If the employer did not provide enough training/direction it is their fault. They may owe you severance based on your former job specs. Especially for senior level jobs, DO NOT accept a standard 'probationary period.'
