Appreciate your process in stepping through this light balancing exercise. It's a nice approach in using the ambient rather than setting the camera to ignore the ambient and just depend on your key & sub lights. BTW, see, I knew you could turn off that distracting ceiling light. 🤣 Look how much more professional your video turned out, not to mention how much easier on my eyes. 😊 ⭐x5

Great video as always. I am curious when I am looking at your video. I see the LCD image look nice and warm. Then introducing the lights, I noticed you lose some of the warmth which can be seen at 11:04 time stamp, after you shot the image. This happens to me and I always have a hard time achieving this in camera? Even if I increase my kelvin to create more warmth it does not work. I am trying to achieve “what I see is what I get". I can only fix this in post? Does my question make sense, everyone thinks I am crazy? My last shoot to remedy this issue, was to add a slightly warmer gel. This did the trick! Am I doing something wrong? Sorry for the long question.

If image is correct exposure but the light is affecting the background then this does not work.

  • @dedskin1

wonderful shot , composition is spot on and everything , i just hate that Sensor , its so Scientific and clinical witch is good for some things , but for a Dreamy , soft shot , its a wrong tool . Try Canon 5D classic with the same shot , you will see a ton of difference .
It will be a better shot , tho may be scientifically worse and less precise , esthetically will be better .
I am unable to pinpoint why is that so , but i think it has lot to do with Canon colors , that are in 5D classic unique , no other canon has those colors , and Pixel Size , large pixels 8nm pixels , give fantastic color separation , 3D pop , Stereoscopic image almost .And this is why i think 5D would take a better photo esthetically in this situation
