    Many people have asked me how I make the carborundum grinding cups for making marbles. Here is a demonstration.

    Thanks to you and your videos, I'm sitting here tonight, admiring my first marble: Lake Superior agate.

    I know this question comes very late I find these videos very interesting. The question is there much of a market for hand made marbles?

      Not a lot, but I have sold over 600 marbles online. When I was making them every week, I sold a ton on ebay. I had people who were collecting them. I sell them at Standing Stone State Park, TN in September

    You are genius! You are only one in TH-cam, who explained about stones! Thank you!

    What kind of grit I need for carborundum?

    • @MarbleGems
      @MarbleGems  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      100 grit works the best for making the black grinding blocks.

      @@MarbleGems Ok thanx ;) ...anyway to avoid risks in doing bigger spheres, maybe it's better that I buy cups, keeping them with my hand like you do with your blocks. What do you think?

    • @MarbleGems
      @MarbleGems  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alegdansk I think doing a big marble like that by hand would be very dangerous. I don't think you could do it. You need a sphere grinding machine.

      @@MarbleGems I mean spheres not bigger than 2.2"...what do you think?

    • @MarbleGems
      @MarbleGems  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alegdansk I don't think you could make spheres that big the way that I make them. There is a lot of force on the marble when spinning it that fast. My brother has tried and it is dangerous.

    Ok that was nicely explained and answered the queries I had. But I would also like to know about the finishing cups. Thanks for the vid.

      I need to make a video about making one of those. They are pretty simple to put together.

    Hey, any chance you’d make a set of your blocks to sell? I have an 8 year old who really likes “helping me” with my polishing, and I’d love to show him how to make his own marbles, but I’m not a precise woman, and I don’t think I can make those cups anywhere near as well as you. Please let me know if you’re able to do that! I’ll try and find you online to see about asking you more directly. You’re very creative and talented, and I love your marbles!

      So, I am just going through all my comments. Did you ever do anything?
