Blackpink finally dropped their album "The Album" with their newest single song "Lovesick girls"
I will be bringing my expertise as a K-pop producer to give objective feedback to the new song, with the latest K-pop music industry perspective.

this was my fave comeback song for blackpink to date. it really hit different. tbh i was getting a bit bored from the past few songs (they're still all good though), but blackpink really shined with this one. everyone can relate to the meaning of 'lovesick girls' & that makes it even more special. they're such amazing artists & i'm so happy that they were given/created a song that showed that.
THE ALBUM is truly a masterpiece, Love To Hate Me is amazing and every track for me is unskipable, like the tracks in the album sounds new to Bp and I love it

@@-r-247 what really? Wth Lovesick Girls is the definition of perfection, literally 😭😭 pretty savage is good too and all i enjoyed every song in the album but seriously LSG is that song that will make you feel happy, nostalgic, sad at the same timee it’s just a very memorable song and the meaning🥺
I think it's anthem for female KPOP idols who aren't allowed to date, since Jennie and Jisoo helped co write the lyrics.

I agree with u and I feel like Blackpink is kinda leaning into that. They are now starting to make their OWN music, like they are now adding personal touch to it. They can release any music and us, blinks, will always be here to support them.
I agree with you on music and songs and what they are good at doing and should do and what moves us. The song is one of their best, but I won't say it's my personal favorite because each song is different (different time, different context, different mood). In one day, my favorite can change back and forth. I LUV this song. THE ALBUM is FANTASTIC. Each song is special and different.

I just love your reaction because most people nowadays doing reaction for the sake of views and clouts but you understand the lyrics and moved by that. Thats what i felt when i first listen to this song. The lyrics have so much more to offer and im so happy you brought that up! "We were born to be alone but why we are still looking for love?" That hurts so much. We are just human after all.. We do need to be loved and love.

This song heavily reminded me of 2NE1’s discography. YG are always good at this concept: emotional, self-deprecating, a little dark, lyrics in the vein of “Lonely” , “ugly” and “Loser”.
I love the 80s vibe of the chorus too, 70s & 80s is starting to trend back so it’s a clever production choice.
I disagree that they don’t have to please anybody, they’re under a lot of pressure to keep increasing momentum in the US, so hopefully they can get some strong numbers and chart positions on Billboard.
I'm agree with him cuz the correct path is to keep loyal to yourself, you can't please everybody taste but fans can recognize their music color and instead of complaining they'll be respectful about that.
i mean jensoo took part of the creative process with lovesick girls so i guess YG should let BLACKPINK write and produce their own songs more

sry sry do you honestly think the people at YG didn’t have the conversation of what other YG songs it resembles? 😂 This type of song is a COMMON YG aesthetic, that’s why it works, they’ve been doing it for 10+ years. I don’t see the problem in drawing parallels between the lyrical concepts. YG like to do songs for their artists that project a larger-than-life confidence on one side but then completely 180 and do these self-deprecating messages. “I’m a loser”, “I think I’m ugly and nobody wants to love me”, “I’m so lonely”, these lyrics hit very different, when you have artists usually telling what boss ass bitches they are 😂 2NE1’s discography always fluttered between those two dynamics, If I was working at the label I would suggest Blackpink do the same.

This song has become my favourite of them. Playing with fire was my favourite for a long time. It reminds me definitely of 2ne1 ugly alot which was just an empowering song in general, this song is a good balance between there black and pink sides, I hope they do more music like this

To me, each BlackPink song is different, but all of them are catchy songs. Like the hook is catchy or the beat. That's why I think their songs are so popular.
Also BlackPink is so different with Rose & Jisoo's unique vocals and Lisa & Jennies unique rap and singing skills. To me they are just different and I love it.
