    I can’t stand this app for one reason. There is no month view in portrait, just a month view that shows dots. Calendars 5 has been much better for me.

    • @ShivsStudio
      @ShivsStudio  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry I don't understand, what do you mean by 'no month view in portrait'?

    • @AndroidProUser
      @AndroidProUser 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      @@ShivsStudio so when looking at the month view in the iOS calendar you see the calendar day and a dot to signify something is scheduled that day. But you cannot from a month view “in portrait mode” view at a glance things scheduled at a months glance. You have to select individual days to get the content for each date. Other calendars like calendars 5 give you better month view options.

    • @Omuretsu
      @Omuretsu 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@AndroidProUser I agree with this wholeheartedly. If they just fix the month view and make it look like almost every other calendar app month view like google calendar or calendar 5 it would be perfect. I had to buy calendar 5 so I could have a month view that not only includes your calendar events but also includes your scheduled reminders which you can check off directly in the app. It’s the absolute best implementation of this. Wish Apple would fix this @shivsstudio

      Honestly, that’s one of the only things that stops Apple Calendar from being great. The other one for me is reminders integration. If Apple added this two things this app would be in another level. Tried other apps but nothing can beat its simplicity. Love the fact when adding similar events it shows up straight away as a suggestion.

  • @kiwi.kiwi.

    A tip from me would be to take the location area to your advantage, as well as with the all day feature. 2 examples for that.
    1. If you have a hospital appointment, you obviously know where your hospital is. But you can input where you need to be in the hospital. For example, instead of typing the location of your hospital which you already know, type in something like “floor 3, room B” or whatever it is. This is way better than noting it down, because you can see where you need to be at a glance. I personally also use this for the locations of my hospital since mine has different locations I need to be at from time to time.
    2. Finally, if there’s an event you don’t think you’ll be attending but that you’d still like to know about in case you’d do something with it, mark the event as an all day event and then input the time for it in the location area instead of using the actual time settings for it. That way, the time appears at a glance in case you are gonna do anything with it, or if it’s not that much of an important event to specifically have its own length in the calendar. That’s why it’s way better than an actual duration for those 2 cases (an unimportant event you’d still like to keep track of, or an event you’d still like to have in case you’re gonna work on it). I hope you got these tips! It doesn’t always have to be an address.
    BONUS TIP: to keep your calendar less cluttered, only input the name of the location rather than its address too. You can find that in maps when you type the name. Or only have the address included if it’s a location you’re currently unfamiliar with.

    Very useful video😘!But I've always been confused about the difference between Calendar & Reminders. I'm not sure when I should add something to Calendar and when to Reminders, they seem to overlap a bit, like Calendar also more or less contains a reminder of when I have to do something. Is this confusion only for me?
    I would like to have your understanding and your principle of these two, thanks again!

    • @ShivsStudio
      @ShivsStudio  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course, I use Reminders as a To-Do list for different projects I'm working on, and for Personal and Work. Some of those To-Do's are time sensitive so I add due dates to them. Calendar on the other hand is used for events and appointments, ie. if I need to be going somewhere. For example, I would add a Birthday Party to my Calendar, not to Reminders.

      Thanks for your comment. Could you clarify further what you mean by no web access? The choice of the system depends only on individual needs.
      If you have a MacBook and iPhone, and work only with these two - it's a reliable tool.
      In my case, I mostly work with Windows and Google, and have different accounts for personal and business needs.
      Web version of Apple Calendar and Reminders is truncated and weak: it can't show you a Google account, you can't see events from other calendars.
      Same to Web Apple Reminders - limited functionality.

      It depends on which ecosystem you are invested in. The integration of all the Apple apps across Apple devices is very powerful. I personally have an iCloud+ subscription and use a custom email domain. By keeping everything in native Apple apps I am able to leverage the power of each app along with the built in connectivity between them. This has created a very powerful productivity system across all my Apple products. If you are invested in the Google ecosystem it makes sense to use the Google apps so you have the same level of productivity. Both companies want to lock us in to their ecosystem so we tend to loose a lot of the power of each app when you try to combine them. The same holds true if we add Microsoft to the equation. Unfortunately, users have to choose one option to get the full power of the ecosystem.
