I just got clean from fentynol and it was the biggest fight of my life. I have never had to be "narcaned". But I have had to use it to bring someone out of an overdose and to my shock, the person was mad at me for doing it. I later found out that narcan knocks all the opiates out of your system and for an addict, this means instant severe withdrawals. Pray for those who are fighting this deadly poison. Because I know personally the challenge and the odds stacked against surviving this disease
Its insane that you can make a drug that removes all he opioid's out of your system but nothing for marjuana or nicotine.
Great job on your sobriety. Keep it up Day by day. I get it knocks opiods out of system, but better than dying. Maybe not at that very moment, I lost my boy to accidently Fentyl overdose. Another point/question would be , are addicts really going to get this stuff when it cost $70 for a 2 pack. I dont think so, they are addicts and money will be used to stay out of that painful withdrawal. All the money spent on stupid crap in our country and we give "clean drug paraphernalia" etc, this should be everywhere drugs are being used and at &0. I've been NARCAN trained for years and I've been pushing for more training. While a lot of public focus has been on illegal drug use, NARCAN can also save someone after an accidental overdose of legal opioid pain medication. If someone is using illegal drugs, whether they are going through a recovery program or not, it's good to have NARCAN around (with someone around to supervise the user) to reduce the need to rely on EMTs and Police in the event of an overdose. Many drug users won't let anyone be with them while they're using if they think they'll call the police, so having a supply of NARCAN on hand can save their life and promote a safe recovery plan.
There is nothing accidental about overdose unless you are a minor
A lethal dose of fentanyl is about the size of a grain of sugar. If you hands are wet or you are sweating and that grain falls on you, that grain will be absorbed by the skin. In about 20 minutes you will be experiencing an opiate overdose. Hopefully someone with narcan is nearby.
Whatever, get rid of Narcan. Cull the addicted.
You can get narcan for free in a lot of places, theres no reason not to have it on you!

@@Goshjij I know the numbers. You might be the addict, but you don't have the facts. It's good you're concerned, but Adderall (amphetamine/dextroamphetamine) isn't turning kids into meth addicts.
If you want identify a single year when the deaths from Adderall were comparable to a single day of opioid deaths, I'm all ears.
Opioid epidemic can't be compared to any other drug epidemic. The crack epidemic and cocaine use didn't make the entire life expectancy decrease.
Adderall is no where near as addictive and it doesn't transition legal stimulant users to meth the way that oxycodone and hydrocodone users transitioned to heroin and now fentanyl.
That's dangerous misinformation and an unkind attitude. You don't want people with AD/HD to be treated. Would you rather that they be unable to hold a job, and die on the street?

and if doctors actually did their jobs and fixed what is causing the pain , whith out milking the cash cow dry , then people wouldn't have to suffer. and how is it the pharma companies don't have any pain meds to replace the only meds that curb pain? and the insurance companie want to take the cheapest course of action, first by having the doctor tell the person in pain it's all in their head. then insurers force patients to do physical therapy, which only makes things worse, then they have to tell the patient they need to see a shrink , then the insurance companies refuse to pay for the things that are going to fix the problem. and all this time is costing un believable amounts of money and the people in pain are still in pain. then if the patient does have surgery, it is not a high percentage of success, and most cases the percentage is less than 30 percent there will be any relief at all. and the percentages of have more pain after surgery are higher than the percentages of less pain.
If all the drugs have fentanyl in them who is making these drugs and why is it legal to sell ?

Our pharmaceutical companies are predatory in the US. They do make good medicine don’t get me wrong but, they want to keep you on their drugs and as a constant point of sale rather than cure you.
You get pharmaceuticals by seeing a doctor, they write a prescription that gets filled by a pharmacy and you buy it from them. Illegal drugs are sold by drug dealers, and I’d say if you look hard enough you’ll be able to find anything eventually. Some states have also made marijuana legal, and they have dispensaries that sell it.

People can't get better and recover if they're dead. It's called harm reduction and has actually been proven to help a lot. If people struggling with addiction are given safe ways to do drugs while also being given a safe place to recover, their chances are improved a lot

This stuff is hard not to OD on. Obviously there are ways to use it that lower your chances of OD just go to harm reduction websites if you wanna know. I don’t think it’s something that should be in mainstream conversation on fentanyl abuse, it can give the illusion that it’s not as harmful as it is to new users.

i feel it is far more cost effective and compassionate for drug addicts who overdose to just die. we are spending resources on keeping people who are going to continue to do drugs and more than likely die from drug use. meanwhile all the people who have chronic pain have to spend money they don't have and go to doctors who are not going to do what it takes to lessen pain. after many surgeries and no relief from what doctors do from start to finish, which is get me to come in over and over again and spend tens of thousands of dollars to get no results is wrong. the live are the only people doctors should be helping. why should i and others like me have to be in pain because drug addicts are overdosing? they are dead and don't feel pain after they overdose. so the thing everyone who is clueless want to bring these people back so they can do it again and again and again.
This is a big part of what is wrong with the world. We stopped allowing stupid to die off. Just let these junkies OD and go away.

In Canada this is free if you’re on narcotics or opioids! Everyone on opioids is given a kit with several needles several doses of narcan.
