Regardless of people’s beliefs… it’s a shame someone has to walk on eggshells around those they’re supposed to be able to trust, confide in and tell (just about) any and everything to, especially when that person is your own family…. (More so your parents). Generally speaking, not even just this particular thing…. No one should be made to feel that way or shamed, feared into holding back, hiding things etc… or just afraid in general. I know this is an old episode, but I wonder what the situation is today with this story. I’d be afraid of her mother too, the way she walked out on stage and immediately reacted the way she did. It’s a shame she’s more worried about being embarrassed & what people will think…than loving and accepting her children for who they truly are. She’s worried about herself & what it’s going to do to HER.. all the while she’s treating her children the way she is.. shaming them, emotionally and verbally abusing them… the hate.. You don’t have to like it, or even accept it. But to be the one to mistreat your children, is sickening. If this is how she behaved on stage, I know it’s worse behind closed doors. Some laugh at the situation, but it’s really not funny & is quite sad. Daughter (one who was on Stage) seems the type that has to laugh to keep from crying, because otherwise she’d lose it mentally from stress etc… and her mother in general. Idgaf how close they were, her mother’s behavior was disgusting. The way she made it all about her… She wonders why her daughter can talk to Steve and not her (even if it’s rhetorical), yet when it’s told to her…. She STILL refuses to see the problem and proceeds to be in denial and not listen.

    • @williamjamesperkins5483

Yes I agree with you 💯. So many times there are parents out there that don't want their child to be gay or lesbian because to them that's not how they were brought up or raised. If you were born straight than fine but if you're born gay or lesbian than that's a problem for parents but at the end of the day that's your child's decision and choice not their parents choice. Parents think that they can control their grown adult child forever but in reality they can't. When a child turns 18 years old they are allowed to make their own decisions in life when their 21 they are legally an adult. When I have kids I'm gonna let them make their own decisions and not trying to control their life. I want them to have that freedom of independence. But if you truly love your child than you will accept them for who they are even though you don't agree with their life style. It's about accepting people for who they are because God wants us to love one another regardless what race or gender you are.
