I met my boyfriend online, on a dating app, during the pandemic. She however put herself and her baby in danger, absolutely! The baby being the main concern because you definitely don’t meet a person for the first time with your child. Meeting people online can be dangerous, just as dangerous as meeting someone in the store. But you don’t tell them where you live, you don’t bring your child with you, you don’t go to their house and you don’t get in their car. She’s very young and she is lacking that sort of judgment because she’s still a kid. She’s gotta keep that guard up to protect herself, no matter how “nice” they seem. I didn’t tell my boyfriend where I lived for a good two months. Besides the fact that I lived with my family, I don’t trust anyone I just met to know where I live.

I was at a party at 14yrs old and when i was leading the restroom someone body slammed me. My head hit the wall. I blacked out. Woke up in another room, undressed with semen everywhere. If anyone does online dating, meet up at a public place like a restaurant or bar, tell someone where you're going and who you will be with. Do not give out personal information until there has been an established connection to feel safe in doing so. Don't leave your drinks alone and stay sober. Take your own ride to and from the date spot. I also advise that if the date does go wrong, I would alert staff to let them know you feel unsafe. I have done this action one time when a date went bad and I asked bar staff to help me to my car, and they sent security to walk me to my car. We keep screaming rape culture and warning signs, but yet when someone mentions why some women are putting themselves in dangerous situations, its seen as a bad thing. This is the first Steve Wilkos episode where I was AGAINST Steve himself. Whether or not she was exaggerating or outright lying about being raped....the way Steve handled it was MESSED UP! He was mocking her, blaming her, making fun of her, basically calling her stupid, and insinuating that she was lying about this whole thing. As a former police officer, he should have had extensive training on taking reports from victims and not allowing his own personal beliefs/feelings weigh in on how he goes about investigating the report..ESPECIALLY for rape. The baby being the main concern because you definitely don’t meet a person for the first time with your child. But you don’t tell them where you live, you don’t bring your child with you, you don’t go to their house and you don’t get in their car. She’s very young and she is lacking that sort of judgment because she’s still a kid. She’s gotta keep that guard up to protect herself, no matter how “nice” they seem. I didn’t tell my boyfriend where I lived for a good two months. Besides the fact that I lived with my family, I don’t trust anyone I just met to know where I live.

I was at a party at 14yrs old and when i was leading the restroom someone body slammed me. My head hit the wall. I blacked out. Woke up in another room, undressed with semen everywhere. I didn't know what to do. I never told anyone. Thank goodness I never had a period yet, so not worried there. I went to plan parenthood without my mom knowing. I was scared of diseases. Im so glad Steve tries to educate while telling these peoples story. I wish i could go back in time. I always think of the situation and wonder how many more girls were hurt.

She was dumb to still STAY in the dude's trailer after he took her phone. As a woman myself, we need to start holding ourselves to a high standard of reading red flags. If anyone does online dating, meet up at a public place like a restaurant or bar, tell someone where you're going and who you will be with. Do not give out personal information until there has been an established connection to feel safe in doing so. Don't leave your drinks alone and stay sober. Take your own ride to and from the date spot. I also advise that if the date does go wrong, I would alert staff to let them know you feel unsafe. I have done this action one time when a date went bad and I asked bar staff to help me to my car, and they sent security to walk me to my car. We keep screaming rape culture and warning signs, but yet when someone mentions why some women are putting themselves in dangerous situations, its seen as a bad thing. No, she did NOT deserve what happened to her, no one does, rape is evil, disgusting and criminal but let's not sit here and act like she made logical moves either.

I feel horrible for this girl. As a woman, being alone with a man is terrifying. He’s stronger than her, he has brought her out somewhere remote. The thoughts that would run through my mind would be “If I demand that he takes me home, is he going to get mad? Is he going to hurt me? Maybe I can just get through the movie and he won’t hurt me.” This is a typical fawn fear response. This is more present in females then males and it’s a real issue. So it just pisses me off when Steve makes her feel stupid for going along with him despite being scared. She feared making him angry.

This is the first Steve Wilkos episode where I was AGAINST Steve himself. Whether or not she was exaggerating or outright lying about being raped....the way Steve handled it was MESSED UP! He was mocking her, blaming her, making fun of her, basically calling her stupid, and insinuating that she was lying about this whole thing. As a former police officer, he should have had extensive training on taking reports from victims and not allowing his own personal beliefs/feelings weigh in on how he goes about investigating the report..ESPECIALLY for rape. This is exactly why so many rapes go unreported and un-investigated because victims fear they won't be believed - or they feel that the cops will blame THEM (like Steve did). I don't know, I really hope Steve looks back at this episode and gets himself more training on how to handle situations like these. This one was NOT COOL, Steve......not cool.
