How to Replace the Heating Element | Aoyue Hot Air Gun (AO20094)

- In today's video we refurbish the hot air gun on an Aoyue 852A++ Soldering Rework Station. Many of the Aoyue stations will have the same gun type. This repair includes the replacement of the heating element and the heat tube/shield on the gun. Join us for step by step instructions on how to do it yourself.
Part 1: Disassembly and Removal - 0:20
01. Remove heat tube screws - 0:27
02. Slide off strain relief - 0:40
03. Remove heat tube - 1:30
04. Clip and remove zip tie - 1:48
05. Remove old heat shrink - 2:08
06. Desolder connections - 2:58
07. Disconnect heating element clip - 3:49
Part 2: Installing New Element - 4:06
08. Position the heating element - 4:17
09. Clean up connections - 4:33
10. Cut and place heat shrink - 5:16
11. Insert element into connectors and re-solder - 5:58
12. Position and activate heat shrink - 6:30
Optional Step:
13. Install new heating tube/shield - 7:52
14. Secure heat tube to handle - 9:10
15. Test - 9:37

Why there is glass when you open it?
The inside of the element is constructed with a glass tube to keep the air focused to the tip of the nozzle. When the handle gets thrown around it can shatter inside. This glass piece is included in the replacement heat tubes.
@@SRASolderLab i just bought a 738H i hear a noise when i shake the gun, i open it and there was a little piece of glas ,the air gun seems to work well can i still use it as this ?
soundstream32 if its just a small little piece it will work perfectly fine. If it’s mostly missing though I would say replace it just in case.
