For those asking, I think he used a 12v DC water pump motor. I'm planning to build something like this but playing around with the concept of using an air pump (the kind that they use in home aquariums) as the blower. With this, the hot air gun would be so much lighter since the air source would be sitting on a table and not mounted on the hot air gun. No batteries required making the whole thing a lot less lighter. I'm sure I can think of something to "tune" the strength of the air coming out of the pump depending on the need. For the nozzle, you can use rabbit ear antennas. You can make several nozzles out it in different diameters and lengths.

luisfilipe1983 ...it's of 60 watts, if you pay attention carefully you can see it, maybe the quality of the soldering you've used isn't enough, that's why it does not heat enough, actually the temperature that a soldering can rise up is directly proportional to its quality.
Actually, Wattage doesn't matter for this type of air soldering. In case if you want to do it so, I recommended you to use a lower wattage, like 20W or 30W and it is cheaper. wattage is actually for the specific size or chape of soldeing tip, may last longer heating time or shorten the heating time.
Good idea if you are desperate, but for the price of a rework station it will get too 500 deg no problem, you can see it is not heating the solder properly, you could simply remove these components with bridge soldering..Or low melting point solder to remove, even a hot air gun with nozzle...This is a good solution if you have none of the above and want to have some fun..
Hi i made this project watching this video, mine works very good but it doesnt melt anything!! Do i need to have smd flux for this to work? It doesnt even metl soldering wire but its 60watt very hot

Its an aquarium aerator. That one thing who makes air bubbles for your aquarium or aquascape. Though this video is kinda suspicious. AFAIK, this aerator motor doesnt have a strong pressure. CMIIW
Hi there. The pump comes from a inkjet printer. I would think you would benefit from a much bigger pump. The pump shown in the vid,is actually a vacuum pump,but just reversed the power leads. Hope this helps 👍

I have the same air pump motor 6V. You use 9V battery in 6V motor. Is this safe for the motor? I ask you because I want to make this project using AC ADAPTER 6.6VDC in this motor 6V and I'm afraid for damage.

Use a light dimmer to reduce heat. Connect a light dimmer to a receptacle mount them both in project box. Plug the heat gun into the receptacle. Adjust heat output with the dimmer.
I might not make this contraption, but watching videos like this does help open my mind.
