  • Beginner Van Life Tips to Make Your Camper Van Experience More Enjoyable if Wild Camping
    10 pieces of advice including one HUGE tip.
    How can you improve your wild camping experience?
    How to find FREE parking for your Camper Van.
    Here I discuss how you can improve your own experience and also that of others.
    Find better places to stop, new places to park.
    Things to consider when you are stealth camping off grid.
    Increasing numbers of vanlife camper vans enjoying Staycations has seen an increase in wild camping and tourist areas being swamped with lots of vans.
    Reports of vans being damaged and even owners being attacked, is not nice to hear. So what can you do to limit the risk of upsetting the locals?
    I am running a FREE competition for 2 of you to win the latest book from Brit Stops. Helping you find free places to stay with the landowners permission
    www.britstops.com
    In the comments, write where you would like to go in the UK to stay first.
    Please subscribe, like the video and share with your friends and other vanlifers.
    The 2 winners will be drawn from the comments, at random which I will video live on 10th October 2022 (Draw now closed)
    I will confirm time in a community post closer to the date.
    This is a fantastic book with detailed information on the stopping places and well worth the small price for you to buy if you do not win one of the two available.
    This is not sponsored and I do not have an affiliate link with Britstops, I just want to share the great book and stopping places they have.
    This has not be endorsed by TH-cam

    The @Staycation Lifestyle van conversion is coming along nicely.
    I bought a Stealth VW Transporter T6 Kombi Highline van 140bhp diesel SWB with tailgate.
    Slowly turning it into a stealth camper van / day van with bed. I will also need something for cooking, cooling, sleeping, drinking ?? Choices to be made.
    I have lots more to do though, I have a new electrical system, using Victron components and a Lithium LIFEPO4 battery, so I obviously need to install some power devices. I have a new sound system, with Focal speakers and ibus 2.1 amp, Playstation PS4, which will be removable, TV's on headrests.
    Lots for me to look forward too and it would be nice to take you on the journey.
    Please do let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.
    Vanlife for me is just beginning, it's a great adventure and I'm loving it. 😍

    Great Vid, very sensible advice. Its surprising how many people think they wont get moved on. Be kind and courteous always. My first stop would be somewhere in Kent, stopping at my mums on the way past. I have had my van a couple of years now got during lockdown and never been able to go down to see her in it. Its currently in the garage for new clutch which is not an easy job on a DSG and very expensive. Keep up the great vids.

      It’s not just the concern of police moving people on, it’s angry locals giving you no choice but to move on. Oh dear, that’s not good news, however when something like that happens, I think ah well, I know that won’t break again 😀

    I live in rural area , it’s not camping vans causing any problems they usually park up and use the pub inc canal boaters . It’s was mostly car day trippers leaving bbq and crap everywhere and drive off .
    I’m not a camper type but can see the appeal my wife pushing to get a van tho .

    • @StaycationLifestyle
      @StaycationLifestyle  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you. I think there are a few points here. If your staying on a proper campsite, which the majority of people do, it’s very unlikely to happen.
      If you are staying in the “wild” you are potentially at a greater risk, hence being careful where you park and how you are setup.

    Regarding the moving on and drinking alcahol. Thats a very grey area and if the police officer can see you had no intention to drive the vehicle. You'd be done for Drunk in charge. Not Drunk Drive.

  • @adeodata6364
    @adeodata6364 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Conclusion : get a van, but pretty much don't do anything with it or around it when you stop driving ... Just enjoy driving 😂 Just kidding but it does seem like that sometimes.
    Thanks for the good advice. I wish people were naturally respectful and sensible, so you didn't have to give some of it. I don't have a campervan yet & it really sometimes makes me wonder if I really want to spend my time worrying about all of this and getting angry at people who don't respect basic savoir vivre.

      Good choices. Yes I would hope most are aware, hopefully. If not, they do now 😀

    Is there a european equivalent of that book? Or country by country?

    Two more:- 1. Park in a way you can easily drive away, maybe reverse in or turn around, ready to go. 2. Leave the place even cleaner than you found it, if someone else has left litter, you may get the blame, so take it with you.

      They stopped publishing the book from this year. It’s now on the app only.
      The problem with the book was that it became outdated very quickly.
      The book was nice to have though, but like maps, it’s gone with the times

      It is. Would be interesting to see how sales have gone this year. They may have got their demographic wrong. I expect most users aren’t 20 year old kids who have never read a map book.

    The van parked on double yellows might have been a blue badge holder and disabled and maybe just needed to rest. I’m a blue badge owner myself and have had comments from public because I’m in a camper and on double yellows. Was in Whitby a few weeks back and a couple went out of their way to walk over to say something to me, I wasn’t camping just had my side door open looking at the view with my 2 Jack Russell and was day time. I heard them talking as they came over saying how disgusting it was me being parked there then they looked at the front window and must have seen the badge, as they scuttled away disappointed they couldn’t virtue signal at me I heard them chuntering “well maybe he can park there, but you just wouldn’t though would you”. Some people are just that way out over anything and want to have the moral high ground over you.

    So basically...don't wild camp .hide in your van if you do ..I agree with most of your points but didn't buy a camper to just sit inside not set up outside..get there late leave early.i go enjoy the countryside leave no mess and do the same again. If local don't like it .jog on .I ain't making noise or mess just enjoying life

    • @StaycationLifestyle
      @StaycationLifestyle  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like you are the type of person the locals will get on with well. Unfortunately others don’t act the same. Using items outside is absolutely fine. It’s just setting up outdoor camp and leaving it all out, if your not actually meant to be where your parked. Absolutely you want to enjoy the outdoors 👍

      @Staycation Lifestyle agree I don't set everything up when not on sites .but we can't be afraid to pull up and enjoy the countryside without worrying about every car or person that passes .that would take the fun out of the point of been mobile in the first place .I get the fact that we need to be as unseen as possible but some bloke cutting through a bush to tell me to cook my bacon 🥓 inside not outside..well🤷
