@@TomoyaOkazaki13 I had a basically 100% mission success rate, and I still agree completely. Now, it's actually faster/possible to consistently clean up enemy groups completely, and you can do it with more different loadouts - Win or lose, that's a way more interesting way to play.
While the bigger units are easier to kill, the balance is that you're gonna be swarmed trying to kill them. The game is not easier, just more ways to win it now.
@@lolllama1504Agreed. People can say it's more fun now, but it's not really debatable about it being easier than it was before. They didn't increase mob spawns or something. They mainly buffed a bunch of weapons the players have, and in several cases made enemies weaker. They just need to add tougher enemies and possibly harder difficulties/missions now.
Just wanted to point out that the belly and the tail have different hp values. I'm pretty sure the belly has less hp, so if you took the stalwart to its belly instead of the tail, you might have better results. I remember Piles saying something about support weapons will be able to go for the belly much easier in this patch.
The thing about this game is that now everything can be killed reliably. That still doesn't mean you're _not_ going to get absolutely swarmed and have to still prioritize targets.
Had a super clutch moment earlier today where I missed the thermite throw and was able to kill a bile titan using my stalwart and some very nice footwork and I'd have to say, was one of the best moments I've had in this game in a long time
I wouldn’t bother with anti light with the arc thrower, if you manage to let the bugs close 55m distance I think a different issue has occurred Personally I just load all the anti heavy I can and the arc thrower melts / stuns everything else
Good loadout, I tried something similar -Arc Thrower -Shield Generator Pack -500kg/OPS -Eagle Napalm/Gatling Barrage -Liberator/Liberator Carbine -Grenade Pistol -Thermite Grenade -Engineer Armor Liberator over Blitzer cause of how good it is close quarters, you can use the Arc Thrower for everything until the bugs are at your shield, where the Liberator kills them fast. Weakness could be heavies I guess
2:45 apparently the HMG got stealth nerfed from 55 durable damage down to 35 durable damage. If it was dealing 55 we’d be able to kill bile titans with it in a fairly reasonable manner like the autocannon can.
Well in theory 60 rounds to the head will kill it, or 70 rounds to the belly. They definitely adjusted the HMG so one mag is just enough to kill a bile titan.
Weird change. The HMG is already one of the more challenging support weapons to use with any degree of efficiency, given it's recoil and relatively very limited ammo supply. If this isn't a mistake, they could at least tone down the recoil a little to make up for it, or give us larger mags.
Yeah, this is honestly how it always should have been. Getting two launchers with an EAT drop and then basically always having to use both on the same target (when confronting anything you'd actually need hard AT for) was kinda dumb.

Since it already took a bit longer to kill the striders and you're encouraged to engage longer range it feels *really* great against them now. Actually killing it still takes quite a few shots but effectively disabling it feels absolutely amazing with it
railgun can one tap gunships engines and laser canon can't reliably take out turret/tank heat sinks anymore. maybe that's old news but now lc has fallen into the meme class rail gun was in and now rail gun is just a better choice of the two by default (specifically for bots solo)
Dam how I missed you playing a game you enjoy testing and playing. It was so brutal watching you play a game you didn't enjoy. Glad to see you having fun again, going to need to resub. Hope you have fun retesting everything mate.
Before the patch, a good handful of support weapons and strats literally had no option to kill some of the heavily armored enemies. Even shit you'd figure would be a good all purpose (auto-cannon, anti-material rifle, etc), literally could not kill things like Bile Titans, to any reasonable degree. It guaranteed there was a meta for weapon loadouts, especially for solo players. I'm so glad that this patch makes it genuinely feel like every weapon is somewhat viable, while a few weapons absolutely shine in their given purpose
You're right that the Bile Titan should be roughly equal to the Factory Strider as they are the "boss" enemies of each faction. I think it's fine for BTs to be a bit squishier though because the "tribe mechanic" of bugs is swarms, so if you have a few BTs then it makes up for them being a bit weaker than FS. They've made a lot of good changes with the update! Hopefully they continue down this line and fine tune things so that we get some more difficulties and challenge after everyone gets used to how the game plays again. This obviously after AH + Community are happy that the game is fun.
Its a great change having weapons that make me enjoy fighting the enemies rather than rely on kiting. Ironically I die more now because i enjoy sticking around for a fight too much for my own good lol.
The game makes sense now. If you bring the right tool for the right job you can succeed if you manage to be precise with your shots. Thats how it always should have been. Its not too easy to kill a bile titan. People are just competent enough to know how to use the options available to them. They took the unnecessary grind out of the gameplay.
We have just 3, they have a rather short range and they take a *while* to blow, enough for the heavy to punish your audacity. I wouldn't cry if they get filed down a bit so it takes consistently 2 to kill a Titan but they're great as they are now.
I think they're fine as they are now. If they absolutely have to nerf them, I would say make them heavier, so they arc more severely and can't be thrown as far as other grenades. Would play even more into their identity as close range high-risk-high-reward AT, and might even be a QoL buff in some cases (e.g., it would be easier to lob them over cover and onto a heavy enemy, without having to stand out in the open or try some goofy straight-up throw tech).
Not to mention that they also have a tendency to just bounce off of your targets sometimes. Really annoying when it happens, but definitely makes the times it does it's job all the more satisfying.
@@974cerebratethat capacity change came with the damage buff. So doesn't count. We lost 1 grenade but gained the power for a single thermite to kill a charger when place correctly. Before they did basically nothing
i had a lvl 10 game with all flamethrowers. almost felt like a regular lvl 10 game pre patch. (almost because of napalm orbital that is very good against reinforcements) its easy when you have people who take support weapons that are good against heavys. its harder when you run with less leathal weapons against heavys. They start pile up until you have 5 chargers again. . . . . To make the game harder, the devs should introduce new enemy types (real boss mobs), new movesets for existing mobs that are already in the game and new missions. for example: a charger that rolls to the side after charging on higher difficulty 9 + 10. Faster bile titans that can jump and dodge on lvl 9 + 10. Bots that run and take cover on higher difficulty. Bots that actually try to flank you instead of just standing and shooting. New missions with already existing assets would also be nice, example: 1. Defent the SEAF atillery for 15 minutes while its automaticly shooting with nukes on a non visible target. 2. Attack with the SEAF atillery nukes (that is on the first map) on a heavily fortified positions in a 15 min mission. this would give the illusion, that one team is defending the SEAF Atillery and the other team is attacking with it. this game has so much faundation to be developt further... and still its fighting for its survival.
I just like that we have more options that work consistently now. Once they have that dialed in they can tweak things to make the higher difficulties more challenging. I think I know what you were wanting to say about the arc thrower. It's not bad, but it was definitely overhyped IMO. I tried it for a couple games and it's fine, but nothing mindblowing. The range is crazy, but it still shoots pretty slow and if you have a bunch of small bugs rushing you it takes too long to get your shots off to deal with them. The blitzer is great for those situations though and the improvements to that are noticeable.
Thermite grenade is funny, just toss it on a hulk/charger and walk away. I do wonder if this is too easy now, but hopefully they choose to increase difficulty in other ways. Our weapons, stratagems, etc., not feeling effective against stuff is not the way.
to be fair, the long fuse time means that you do have to do a bit of waiting. I've had chargers run into my squad with a thermite attached to its face and the explosion got some of us lol
@@spinone-d2Illuminate isn't the optimal way to increase difficulty either. Either way, it's just going to be a different experience, like how Terminids and Automatons are different experiences.
To me, the ideal way to increase difficulty is to just add more enemy types, and increase the ratio between strong enemies and weak enemies on higher difficulties. Each successive difficulty level shouldn't just be "more enemies". They can also put more exclusive things on higher difficulties, like they did with the last big update.
@@SRFAA Right now, chaff support weapons are even more neglected because of the AT buffs, so I say more chaff enemies should be a staple in higher diff. Like make it so that someone running any MG support weapon becomes a must, just like AT. But more enemy quantity might be tricky for the console side though.
Protip: if you're really angry, really desperate, or just outright insane, the Torcher can kill a Bile Titan too. I got caught without a support weapon yesterday and did what I had to do.
Agree with everything! They could add difficulty levels or dif.modifiers like player handicap or add buffs to enemies like hp deff explosion ress dps to make it fun for fanatics and leave us normal ppl fun
The main great thing about this patch is that you can actually take things out from a distance without having to worry about the complete lack of margin for error. You can actually miss a shot or two and not expect them to immediately be on your face before having to deal the other 3 additional ones that spawned in the meantime while you were dealing with the first one.
Bugs are in a great place right now. Lots of kills, lots of viability, lots of deaths. They struck a good 'glass cannon' balance on the bug front. Bot front is another thing. They need to completely revisit giving the hulk bruisers command bunker lasers.
It's awesome that all these weapons can deal damage to armored targets now. You still have the crowd control ability, and 4 Helldivers dumping damage into these larger targets will drop them in reasonable time
Would've been really cool if the Arc Thrower could stun them like the Stun Grenade used to. Would allow non explosive support weapons to get the kill easier for teammates. Great vid man, appreciated 🙏
The issue with the Thermite before was that multiple Thermites did not stack. The Thermite applies a DOT effect that deals a lot of damage before the end explosion, but before the recent patch that end explosion's damage was pitiful so the optimal strategy was to throw one at a time leading to inconsistent results when someone did not know that. Now the end explosion is ridiculous so its worth throwing more than 1 to kill something faster
Good data. Thank you. I don’t mind big enemies having more options to kill them they can all but 1-shot us already so turnaround is fair play. Plus they already spawn in 1-4 arcs time plus assorted screening forces. As to boosting the “difficulty” I would act thusly. Slow the stim heal rate to 1/3 and triple the duration, that’s it. No more instant full health and near immortality for the activation time, now you have to babysit ALL of your health pool because a single crit doesn’t delete 55-111% of the HO bar anymore. Now getting hit matters a LOT more because it’s going to take time to patch up and hunters can’t combo kill is in a half second anymore because that insane double damage headshots been chilled the hell out.
Good data! Excited to see how they buff the plas stuff and make the knife into some kinda throwable lightsaber. I am so here for all the fun of smashin bugs and bots with a variety of not terrible weapons.
Honestly I’ve seen a lot of people claim that it’s too easy to kill a charger or a titan. Sure there’s easy ways to kill isolated ones, but it’s a lot better than zigzagging to the Benny hill theme while they chase you across the map because you couldnt get the perfect shot at killing them
If the devs want a difficult enemy that takes a ton of bullets to take down, they need to make a huge bug that has a ton of of weak spots on it, and you have to take out each spot to take it down.
A solo Titan may be easy to kill but the issues of difficulties rise when it's both variety and abundance. If there's a Titan on the field with 2 chargers and a myriad of fodder bugs it's gonna be nuts
I have to say, this update is an absolute blast of fun! I have more build variety with what I can bring (p.s. don't bring both flamers if you have a hunter mission, that was pain) I also REALLY love the thermite change, I'm bringing it all the time as my dedicated anti-tank weapon. Bringing thermite opens up my options for primary AND secondary! Do I want to go stalwart/erruptor (which is so much more fun now that it has its shrapnel back!) Do I want to go sickle/scythe with the laser cannon, or do I want an autocannon? Just so many more choices now, killing bugs feels so much better, impalers are a HIGHER threat than titans now which I find hilarious. This is the way, BOTH sides are glass cannons, that is how to make the game both fun AND challenging at the same time. Arrowhead did good this update, let's hope they can keep this ball rolling.
In one game, long ago, I used a single Patriot to take out multiple Bile Titans and Chargers. With the right tools, they were always easy. We just have more options now. A lonely Bile Titan was always easy. Any single enemy in the game was always easy as long as you had the right weapon to shoot it with. It's when they have help that it's hard, and still is. You might still kill it, but you might end up in a rough spot doing so. Depends on positioning and what weapon you're using. I feel this every time I play. I get excited to see the big guys "oooh, lemme stick it with a thermite!" but if there's a bile titan AND a charger AND hunters. "Oh f-"
in games like this where theres very little interaction to be had with enemies (you cant really block, dodge, parry, or have any other meaningful back and forth where you dont just end up tanking a ton of damage or running away) you WANT extremely low TTK.
7:48 I think next to go is players getting instakilled by wee tiny grunts, and fixing the titan spew hitbox, if those get fixed, the game will be close to perfect.
I think this idea of being an expendable glass cannon is what most players want, and the player count shows this, Bile titans are what I'd say is a fine spot. Lethal, but easy to take down with equipment
@@Keywiiwee with how many there are, I think they're fine. You change them at all, and then the game drops in players and it becomes more a hassle than anything else
@@CL3VA I agree with you, i dont know how would they balance it out exaclty, but stright up nerfing the railgun wouldnt work. I think bile titans should be more lethal if anything
I think the bile titan is pretty solid as it is now, they just need to add another, bigger (ok maybe not bigger), tankier bug that only spawns occasionally, I'm talking like 2-4 per mission even on D10. I think it's quite fun for there to be a big, threatening, hard to kill bug, but whatever bug that is should not need to be killed 20+ times each mission and it should be able to be damaged by most weapons, but tanky enough that you're gonna have a rough time if you don't have any heavy ordinance.
The Bile Titan is the Bot tank. Don't be disillusioned about that, The Factory Strider is much more tanky, much more dangerous and spawns. A Bile titan like a tank is heavy big and shoots very slow. And may run you over.
Yeah apart from the range increase which is nice, I don't really notice the durable damage change for the Arc Thrower. It still takes too long to kill a charger, not to mention a behemoth. It doesn't even realiably kill Hunters in 1 shot and against Alpha Commanders it takes anywhere between 2 and 6 shots since you can' t aim the arc properly. Not a fan yet
It's time to have a serious discussion about being able to rappel down a big hole and fighting our way a series of underground tunnels trying to find a bug egg that _doesn't give us shit rewards._
I think the ttk on them is too much but it's definitely a step in the right direction. There should definitely be multiple ways to kill elite enemies, even with primaries. I definitely like the changes to the belly, but the armor 4 on the carapace was definitely overkill. Recoilless rifle and other anti armour options dropping them in one hit makes since to me. If there were any lower we would have a railgun situation again.

I was watching Maplewood on Twitch going on and about how he's not sure about the change because it makes the game too easy, and now it's gonna be more boring.
I lean more towards what Ohdough is saying here, they need to make the game fun again first, and then they can start working on making the game harder, for the people that like more challenge. Right now, it's much more important in bringing back more casual players to keep the game alive before we start worrying about all the tryharding with how much easier the game is.
I’ve taken to meme loadouts until everything is back in order. It actually is interesting trying to outwit everything with my crossbow and crisper.

I generally consider myself quite decent, but to say this game was challenging but fun pre patch is a an absolutely horrible take. It was a war of attrition where every minute you spent running and waiting for cooldowns was another minute that went by that you could have spent playing another challenging game that was also rewarding based on skill. Pre patch was a slog. I want what those 500 divers are smoking because no one likes to spend 40 minutes suffering.
@@Crispy_DAWG this!!
i used to be those guys who were "i like the challenge" with the nerfs... but after EACH GAME at Diff-8 had a minimum of 5 - 10 CHARGERS and at least 2 Bile Titans chasing me + the swarm of smaller bugs AND Stalkers, I slowly realized how dogshit the nerfs were.
i stopped playing after that and just waited out for the update.
and as you mentioned, it became a war of attrition waiting for cooldowns and hoping that you get into a position to take a breather and reposition just to deal with ONE elite enemy.

@@TomoyaOkazaki13 I had a basically 100% mission success rate, and I still agree completely. Because the trick to winning came down to "take out priority targets that can keep up with you, run past everything else".
The game is objectively easier than before though, they buffed the player’s damage and didn’t change the enemies.

@@theofficialbruhfish8094that is true.
Was thinking that cause I hit it's belly with the sycth and after awhile it took it down. The tail was not worth it
The thing about this game is that now everything can be killed reliably. That still doesn't mean you're _not_ going to get absolutely swarmed and have to still prioritize targets.
Remind me of when I actually ever get swarmed

Never actually happens.
Try the Arc Thrower with Engineering Kit armor, Grenade Pistol, Termite grenades, Reamer (SF mode), Arc Blitzer, Machine Gun Sentry / Guard Dog, Eagle Airstrike / 500kg, and dealers choice of Orbitals. It's a good time.
I wouldn’t bother with anti light with the arc thrower, if you manage to let the bugs close 55m distance I think a different issue has occurred
Personally I just load all the anti heavy I can and the arc thrower melts / stuns everything else
Good loadout, I tried something similar
-Arc Thrower
-Shield Generator Pack
-500kg/OPS
-Eagle Napalm/Gatling Barrage
-Liberator/Liberator Carbine
-Grenade Pistol
-Thermite Grenade
-Engineer Armor
Liberator over Blitzer cause of how good it is close quarters, you can use the Arc Thrower for everything until the bugs are at your shield, where the Liberator kills them fast. Weakness could be heavies I guess
Blitzer
Grenade Pistol
Stun ‘nades
Gas Orbital
Napalm Orbital or Airstrike
Flamethrower
Guard Dog (Laser or Liberator)

2:45 apparently the HMG got stealth nerfed from 55 durable damage down to 35 durable damage. If it was dealing 55 we’d be able to kill bile titans with it in a fairly reasonable manner like the autocannon can.
If true I'd wager it's unintentional haha
Well in theory 60 rounds to the head will kill it, or 70 rounds to the belly. They definitely adjusted the HMG so one mag is just enough to kill a bile titan.
Yea I feel this hard after update. Factory could be taken out with half a mag to the stomach pre update. That is NOT the case anymore.
Weird change. The HMG is already one of the more challenging support weapons to use with any degree of efficiency, given it's recoil and relatively very limited ammo supply.
If this isn't a mistake, they could at least tone down the recoil a little to make up for it, or give us larger mags.
I don't think so. Every heavy has a lot more HP now. Probably the HMG damage is the same, but you simply need more shots
The game is so much more fun now

Getting two launchers with an EAT drop and then basically always having to use both on the same target (when confronting anything you'd actually need hard AT for) was kinda dumb.

You mentioned striders, railgun is actually insane against them now since it can *reasonably* deal with the top cannon in a few shots and the miniguns in one each. Since it already took a bit longer to kill the striders and you're encouraged to engage longer range it feels *really* great against them now. Actually killing it still takes quite a few shots but effectively disabling it feels absolutely amazing with it
Railgun is dogshit.
railgun would be good if its sights werent complete ass
railgun can one tap gunships engines and laser canon can't reliably take out turret/tank heat sinks anymore. maybe that's old news but now lc has fallen into the meme class rail gun was in and now rail gun is just a better choice of the two by default (specifically for bots solo)

I'm so glad that this patch makes it genuinely feel like every weapon is somewhat viable, while a few weapons absolutely shine in their given purpose
being able to manage these solo is a breath of fresh air. I've been dragged to level 9/10 and it feels great to be able to contribute
Basedivers 2, yeah I’m thinking we are back 🙌🏼
You're right that the Bile Titan should be roughly equal to the Factory Strider as they are the "boss" enemies of each faction.
“It’s not too easy to k-*obliterates it with a single AP5 shot*
I dunno man. Kinda fucking easy. You aim and fire.
I hope they don't nerf the thermite grenades. Love them. Especially when you're running weapons that can't deal with heavies reliably.
They did already you get one less thermite compared to other grenades
(almost because of napalm orbital that is very good against reinforcements)
its easy when you have people who take support weapons that are good against heavys.
its harder when you run with less leathal weapons against heavys.
New missions with already existing assets would also be nice,
example:
Gave Helldivers a break, but this update will get me back into it! Always great to have variety when killing the big stuff.
I've had chargers run into my squad with a thermite attached to its face and the explosion got some of us lol
i think they are letting us have our fun before next faction
“They could add difficulty levels”
They already did. You should got embarrassed about not play diff 9 so forced them to make it easier

Impressive Presentation. Always appreciative of these weapon tests. Keep it up!
I'm glad to see the player count rise. I have some faith now that this game could last for many years to come if AH keeps going this direction.
Thanks for doing this. I don't have to do it on my own now. Great info!
Good data.
Awesome video thank you! Satisfying kills

"On layaway" fucking classic
If the devs want a difficult enemy that takes a ton of bullets to take down, they need to make a huge bug that has a ton of of weak spots on it, and you have to take out each spot to take it down.
Thank you for this and for everything else you do!
I am having so much freaking fun with this game since this update. I can hardly believe it
A solo Titan may be easy to kill but the issues of difficulties rise when it's both variety and abundance.
Its good that other weapons have a fighting chance against these heavily armoured units now.
7:48 I think next to go is players getting instakilled by wee tiny grunts, and fixing the titan spew hitbox, if those get fixed, the game will be close to perfect.
"A smidge and some time"
"A full battery and some change"
Anything but the metric system, love these units of measurements ❤
This patch is the most fun patch Arrowhead has released in MONTHS.
Damn, didn't know I was different with the HMG.
I think this idea of being an expendable glass cannon is what most players want, and the player count shows this, Bile titans are what I'd say is a fine spot. Lethal, but easy to take down with equipment
I disagree, bile titans are a joke, factory striders are in good spot, super leathal, but you can deal with them with the right weapons
@@Keywiiwee and that's fine, if the game has statistics on what enemies Helldivers dying the most I would guess it would be hunters for sure
I haven't seen it mentioned, but I've noticed I've actually been killing bile titans with my reinforce hellpod.
Now we can go for preference when we choose which support weapon to bring. Instead of “ah fuck nobody brought anti tank I’ll have to do it”
Great job on the testing!
I love the new OhDough
The Bile Titan is the Bot tank. Don't be disillusioned about that, The Factory Strider is much more tanky, much more dangerous and spawns. A Bile titan like a tank is heavy big and shoots very slow. And may run you over.
🤓
I find factory striders easier because I don’t have to deal with 4 at a time while being bum rushed by little guys.
If they keep it up with updates like this, I can see myself playing this game again.
They should make the 1 kill spot smaller for bile titans with a recoilles rifle so you really need to have perfect aiming
Bile titans are easier to kill, doesnt mean the game is easier to play. Just means there is more ways to complete the same task.
So if killing my enemies is easier and I have more options how to deal with problems, but the enemies and problems have not grown.... how is it not easier?
@@sadghfajdslhgsadklgkBut they have grown. Not only you can kill enemies faster, but they can kill you faster too. They nerfed the damage reduction on our limbs and chest, we break our limbs and we bleed more often.
